BARANGAY-BASED BOYS/GIRLS SCOUTING

I. RATIONALE:

Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills,

and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives. Provide service to others, build self-
confidence and self-esteem. As stipulated in the Deped Order No. 76, series of 2012, the
Department of Education is revitalizing scouting in schools nationwide. Scouting is an effective
co-curricular in the leadership ang value formation of every child. Thus, the main objective of
Deped in consistency with its vision and mission to provide and develop a well-rounded
individual with exemplary character traits worth the emulation of the school children.

With this, the scouting activity will boost children’s socialization, build independence and
responsibility among themselves. Because of the effect of 2-year pandemic, this school event
will enhance patriotism, solidarity and camaraderie to other co-learners.

A.5. Activity Rationale:
The Barangay-based scouting will be held at Columbio Integrated School with four (4)
schools enjoined for Boy scout and Girl Scout both Elementary and Secondary learners
participating with the aim to nurture their life skills survival and enhance their sense of
patriotism, camaraderie among peers and sense of independence and responsibility to cope up
with the challenging lifelong journey.

For the 3-day scouting activities, there’s no class interruption because the arrival and
opening program on March 24, 2023 (Friday) will be set on 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon to 9:00 in
the evening. On March 25 to 26, 2023 (Saturday and Sunday) will be the whole day scouting
activities.

Attached is the program matrix for the said event which will be participated by more or less
320 student-participants, 40 teachers and 4 School Heads within the Barangay San Roque where
the 4 schools are located.
A.6. Objective:

Terminal Objective –To develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and
citizenship skills for lifelong journey.
Enabling Objectives: To apply these abovementioned skills in their adult lives.

A.7. Expected Output:

- 320 student-participant will be able to become equipped, developed and enhanced their skills in
becoming an independent and responsible citizen throughout their daily lives’ journey.

A.8. Methodology:

The activity will be held on March 2, 25 and 26, 2023.
