“The Puppy and the Kitten”

My family adopt a puppy and a kitten from the animal shelter.

They were so young. They did not even have names yet. We
had to think of good names for them.

The puppy likes to jump up.

The kitten likes to curl up in our laps

“What do you want to name them?” asked Mom.


My sister said, “Bounce for the puppy and Cuddle for the
kitten”.

We all thought those names were perfect.

Now, let’s go back to our question a while ago.

Clues
 clues are hints found in sentences.
 they are used to understand and identify the meaning of
unfamiliar words.

Clues help you identify the meaning of words in any contexts.


They may be in forms of:
 pictures
 Total Physical Response (TPR) and body
movements.

Pictures – used to understand the meaning of the word


easily.
Example:

Jenny and John play together.


She helps her mother wash the dishes.

Teacher Grace likes to teach.

Tom is eating cake.

Total Physical Response (TPR) and Body movement


– method of teaching words by using gestures or facial
expression. The learners will imitate the action.
