organs of the human body

Performance stantards: the learnrs should be able to….practice heathful habits in taking care of
the sense organs

Learning competency: the learners should be able to…describe the parts and functions of the
sense organs of the human body

Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

Drill
Ok, class let have a review. Class can you still
remember our lesson yesterday?
Now to test if you rally remember. I have
something to show you. I have here a chart of Yes Teacher
human body. I would like you to identify the
body parts , match the word that corresponds to
the part of the body.
Do you understand? (the pupils will come in front to match the
(the teacher shows a picture of different parts word that correspond to the part of the body)
of the body.)
(Ask a pupils to each part of the body)

Very good class! Lets give our self 3 claps.

2. MOTIVATION
( Show a picture of Helen Keller)

What do you see in this picture?

Ma’am it’s a picture of a girl.
Exactly, Do you know who is she?

Alright, listen, I will tell a story of Helen No Ma’am

Keller.
(the Teacher relates the story.)

Helen Keller (1880-1968) lived in a world of

darkness and silence. She was blind and deaf.
She could neither see nor hear. Yet she became
one of the America’s most famous authors and
lecturers.
She had a very good Teacher Anne Sulivan.
Anne made Helen feel objects with one hand.
Then she traced the word for each object onto
the palm of Helen’s hand.

Now, class there are some question here about

the story a while ago.

The question is Who is Helen Keller? She was blind and deaf. She could niether see
nor hear.
Kristine

Yes, who was her Teacher? Teacher Anne Sulivan

Sharlene

Thanks Sharlene, how did the Teacher make

her learned to read and write? She let Helen feel objects with one hand. Then
she traced the word for each object onto the
Jessie palm of Helen’s Hand.

What sense of organ she used? Sense of touch

Patricia

Very good class!

B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
1. PRESENTATION
(The Teacher will show the different sense
organ)
What is in the picture?

Jen Five senses Ma’am

Very good!

Now we will discuss our sense organ and its

function
2. DISCUSSION
Ok children our topic for this day is all about
the sense organ

(The teacher shows the pictures of the five

senses)

Eyes
The eyes is for seeing
We could see things in our environent with the
use of our beautiful eyes
We could identify the colors, textures, the The eyes
height, the size of different things.

Again what organ do we use for seeing?

Nose
Nose is our sense of smelling
We could smell the perfume, the fragrance of Smell
the flowers because of our nose
The use of the nose is to be able to smell
Ok, what is the use of our nose?

Ear
Ear is for hearing
The ear is the organ that detects sound Hearing of the sounds
We can hear the sweet music, bark of dogs etc.

What is the function of the ears?

Tongue
Tongue use for taste. We can identify the taste
of foods whether it is sweet, sour, delicious
and salty Taste the food
Okay, what is the function of our tounge?

Skin
Skin is the sense of touch
Sense of touch is important in a number of
ways. It can be detect different textures as well
as tmperatures of different levels. Our skin
enables us to detect is something is cold, soft
or spilky

Ok, what is the organ that we use for feeling? Skin

Very good!
3. ANALYSIS
So now, we can identify already the five
important senses organ in our body the eyes,
nose, ears, tongue and the skin.

How do sense organs help us? Help us to understand what’s happening

around us

Very good!
4. GENERALIZATION
Based on our topic today class, what you’ve Five senses and its function

GRADE 4

I. OBECTIVES

Content standards: the learners demonstrate understanding of…how the major internal organs
such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver, stomach, intestines, kidneys, bones, and muscles keep the
body healthy

Performance stantards: construct a prototype model of organisms that has body parts which
can survive in a given environent

Learning competency: describe the main function od the major organs

At the end of the lesson the pupils should be able to:

a. identify the different major organs of the body

b. describe the main function of the major organs of the body

c. appreciate the importance of major organs of the body

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Five major organs of the body and it’s functions

B. Materials: Pictures, chart

C. Refferences: K-12 CG Science 4 page 50, Real life Science 3

2. MOTIVATION
I have here a WORD SEARCH Yes ma’am

Are you familiar with this class?

So here it is class. Find and circle each of the

words from the list below. Words may appear
horizontally or vertically.

LIVER

B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
1. PRESENTATION
Very good! The word there are liver, heart, Ma’am it is a major organs of the body
lungs,kidney and brain.

Now, what do you think is that?

Very good!

That’s our topic today the major organs of the

body.
Now we will discuss the major parts of the
body.

2. DISCUSSION
(The teacher will show a picture of human
human body and discuss the parts and
function of major organs)

Brain is the most important

organ in our body
The brain controls our body
and everything it does
Without our brain we
would not be able to
breathe, walk, talk, learn,
think and remember things,
as well as be able to feel happy or sad
Our body send signals through our body Brain
through our nerves. Our nerves allow us to feel
and touch objects Brain controls our body and everything it does
What is the most important organ of our body?

What is the function of the brain?

Lungs are the organs

which help us to breathe
We breathe in air
(oxygen) through our
nose and mouth
The oxygen is then taken
into our body travelling
through the blood stream to body cells, the
body cells then use the oxygen to get energy
Waste substances like carbon dioxide (a waste
gas) are then released into the blood caried to
the lungs to leave the blood and is then Lungs
breathed out through our mount and nose

What organ help us to breathe?

Yes very good!

Liver has many jobs but

its main job is to filter
out all the poisonous
substances in our blood
Without the liver acting
as a filter in our body it
would be full of poisonous substance polluting
our body, without this we would not be alive
The liver also produces a liquid called bile
which breaks down all the fats in our body Liver
which aids digestion
It produces a liquid called bile which breaks
down all the fats in our body which aids
It’s job is to filter out all the poisonous digestion
subtances in our blood, what it is?

What is the function of the liver?

Heart the other most

important organ within
our body
The heart job is to keep
us alive through pumping blood around our
body. Our heart sends our blood on never
ending journey through our bodies
The two chambers in our hearts are pumps
which pump the blood to different places in
our body which allows the rest of the organs in
our body to work
One takes blood to the rest of our body the
other takes it to the lungs. Withouth the heart
pumping blood through these organs in our
veins the rest of our body would not work
When our heart stops pumping the blood Heart
around our body this is when we die
Heart job is to keep us alive through pumping
What is the most important organ of our body? blood around our body

What is the job of heart?

Very good!

The kidneys' job is to
filter your blood. They
remove wastes, control
the body's fluid balance,
and keep the right levels
of electrolytes. All of the
blood in your body passes
through them several
times a day. Blood comes into the kidney,
waste gets removed, and salt, water, and Kidneys job is to filter our blood
minerals are adjusted, if needed

What is the job of our kidneys?

Very good! That’s the 5 major organ of our

body

3. ANALYSIS

What have you observed from the activity that

we did? It’s all about the major organs of human body

Very good!

Does the organs can function well if the one

organ is collapse? What do you think? No Ma’am!

Very good!

Now class, can you live without this major No Ma’am!

organs of our human body?

Very good! So our major organs is important

for us to live.

4. GENERALIZATION
Based on the activity you have done today
class, what did you learned today?

Adam

Vey good!

What are the five major organs of our body? Brain, liver, lungs, heart and kidney

Melanie

Very good!

What is the function of the brain?

Controls our body and everything it does
Jade

How about the lungs? It help us breathe

Val

The heart is for?
