• Multiply the decimals as if they are
whole numbers: 16 x 2 = 32
• Count the number of decimal places in
both factors. The number of decimal
places in the factors is equal to the
number of decimal places in the product.

2 decimal places, multiply like whole
numbers and count as many decimal
places in the product as there are in the
multiplicand and multiplier together
