Explanation
The system Includes the Pump, the Filter, the fixed column and the container. This will be used as the
filtration system for the experimentation.
Polystyrene is either in the form of Polystyrene cups procured from Magis Student Complex
Toluene will be used to dissolve the polystyrene for grafting with the powdered activated carbon.
Serves as the backbone of the SPS-PAC composite
Will be used for the sulfonation process
Will be conducted in the Department of Science and technology using EDTA titrimetric method
Will be conducted in the Department of Science and Technology by Colorimeter
Will be conducted in Xavier University - Chemistry department. This is to verify the attachments of sulfonic
groups in the SPS-PAC which will indicate that the sulfonation reaction was successful
