But,seriously,whatiseducation?Wedefineeducationinwords,butinreality,itisaverb.

Educationisthepracticeofselfpreservationandsurvival.Yousee,wehaveevolvedfroma
speciesjustneedingfood,water,andsheltertosurvive,andwehavesincetranscendedpast
threesimplecommoditiestosurviveinthisworld.Societyhassinceaddedanadditional
elementtothelistofskillsneededtoextendournaturallives,andeducationisthatadditional
factor.
Idontevenliketheword.Educationhasbecometaintedtothepointofdegradation,and
hasyetbecomeassociatedwithpoliticalgain,countlessdebates,andemptyresults.Ipreferthe
wordexperience.Ichooseexperiencebecausethatiswhatlearningshouldandiswhendone
correctly.Learningistheexperienceofnature,andlearningtopreserveoneslifeinonaplanet
filledwithbillionsofpeople.ThewaytheNativeAmericanstaughtsettlersnewtoAmericato
hunt,fish,andstaywarmissynonymoustothepowerwegivechildrenwhenweteach.We
teachthemindependencetogooffintheworld,andtolivewithoutthedependenceofanother.
Wearentjustteachinglearningobjectives,weareteachingselfpreservation,andwe
areteachingsurvival!So,inasocietywhereeducationhasbecometheessenceofexisting,
whyarewesolaxontheproperexecutionofsuchavitalskill?Doesitmatterhowyouget

water,aslongasyouarenourished?Doesitmatterwhatweeat,aslongaswearefedinthat
moment?No!Itgoesbeyondtheglobalmarkets,orwhatthestockmarketsaysitmattershow
weareabletoadvanceourselvesasaspecies.Itiseasyformetowritethisnotefroma
standpointofaneducated,andconsciousAfricanAmericanwoman,howeverIchosetowrite
thisnotefromthestandpointofahuman.
Livinginthisworldmakesmedespondentofthefuturebecauseofourinabilityto
properlydeliverlearningtochildren,anditisthecatalysttotheseriesofviolence,tension,and
overalltheslowlossofhumanity.Theraceriotsthathavebecomefrequentintodayssociety
areseenfromanerroneousviewassimplyblackandwhite,whenitshouldbeseenasa
symptomofanarchy.Anarchyoccurswhenthereisanimbalanceofpowerswithinahabitat,
andthepowerstrugglethatweareexperiencingisasymptomofanonsetnihilisticculture.
Inthedanceofeducationalplatforms,wearelosingourabilitytosurviveasaspecies,
andtherewillcomeadaywhentherichwillfightamongsttherichtillthereisnomore.Inevery
stageofcivilization,thepresenceofwarandpowerhasexisted,however,theoccurrencesthat
areamongstusserveasanindicationofanevolutionarydeclineinmoralandprinciple.Acting
inthemannerofanimalsravaging,killing,fightingoverterritory,andsomanyothersurvival
instinctsisthebehaviorallspeciesresorttowhenfelttheirsurvivalisthreatened.
Whichalsoleadsmetowonder,ifwehavecometolearntofindwater,huntforfood,
andcreateshelter,thenwhyisthecommodityofeducationsuchaselectiveprocesstoobtain?
Maybebecauseeducationisasocialconstructcreated,andthendistortedtoexertpower.We
aretakingthesurvivalskillsofbeingeducated,andextortingitforaprofit.Sowhenweare
lookingatthelackofeducationinsimplyjustanissueofrace,class,gender,oreventhe
intersectionalityofallthree,wearestillofffromthedetrimentwearedoingtoourselvesas
humanbeings.Minoritiesarenotthatspecial,wearethejusttheinitialextinctiontothedecline
ofafailingspecies.Intheend,everyonedies.
