I am very excited to begin my first official programming course!

I have taken a few

programming courses before through websites such as codecademy and coursera, so I am
familiar with many of the basic concepts. Despite my previous experience, I am still learning
through the assigned reading and suggested readings. I read through the various mandatory
assignments, but the discussion forum also led me to research differences between interpreted
and compiled languages -- something which I have not come across before. Although I have had
some experience programming, many of these concepts were outside the area of my "purely
practical" aforementioned courses.
