Get volunteers for Pres cup.


Get them to pair up.
What has been on in the news election, troop numbers,
taxation, drugs in sport (Marion Jones).
Thursday night debate.

What is the problem?
What is the solution?
3 points why it is good?
1st Prop 2nd Speaker
Rebuttal of their best (not just worst) points.
3 new points why the proposition is correct.
1st Op 1st Speaker
Rebuttal you may want to make some of this part of the
main speech (this is mainly to expose practical difficulties
and incorrect assertions).
Set out the nature of the opposition bad prop and this is
better, or bad prop and status quo is better.
3 points to support this team line.
1st Op 2nd Speaker
Rebuttal of the previous speaker.
3 new points why your team line is correct.

Make sure they know:


Point, example and then link.
Structure of a speech.
Now teach points of information.

2nd Prop 1st Speaker


Rebuttal of the previous speech.
3 new reasons why the prop was good (think of one specific
group affected by the policy, what president does it set, wider
benefits etc).
2nd Prop 2nd Speaker
Rebuttal of the previous speech.
Summarise the debate under three headings. Questions often
good. Explain.
2nd Op 1st Speaker
Rebuttal of the previous speech.
3 new reasons why the op line is correct.
2nd Op 2nd Speaker
Rebuttal of the previous speech.
Summarise the debate under three headings. Questions often
good. Explain.
