VERTEBRATES AND INVERTEBRATES

Dear Parents
We have been studying Vertebrates and Invertebrates in 2nd Grade.
Vertebrates are animals that have backbones. These animals are found
in 5 different categories : mammals, fish, reptiles, birds and amphibians.
Invertebrates are animals that do not have backbones, such as snails,
insects, spiders, jellyfish, and many more.
Your child is going to be doing a project that we will use for the
Science Fair. In order to do this, they need to choose an animal. It can be
either a Vertebrate or an Invertebrate.
They will need to do some research on this animal. Here are some of
the things they need to be looking for :

Your child can write the information out neatly, or type it out and print it
off.

The child
has to try to use their own words.
They need to put the information on a poster with pictures to go with
their writing. We will use these posters at the Science Fair.

If your child wishes to make a costume that represents their animal for our
presentation, they may, but they dont have to. Please do NOT go out and buy expensive
outfits. You can make an outfit using old boxes, packets, and old things lying around at
home.

vertebrados e invertebrados

Queridos padres
Hemos estado estudiando vertebrados e invertebrados en segundo grado.
Los vertebrados son animales que tienen columna vertebral. Estos
animales se encuentran en 5 categoras diferentes: mamferos, peces,
reptiles, aves y anfibios. Los invertebrados son animales que no tienen
columna vertebral, como caracoles, insectos, araas, medusas, y muchos
ms.
Su nio va a estar haciendo un proyecto que vamos a utilizar para la
Feria de Ciencias. Para ello, deben elegir un animal. Puede ser un pjaro o
un invertebrado.
Tendrn que hacer algunas investigaciones sobre este animal. Aqu estn
algunas de las cosas que necesitan buscar:

presentacin, pueden, pero no es un requerimiento. Por favor, no es necesario comprar

trajes caros. Usted puede hacer un traje con cajas, paquetes y cosas viejas que ya nop
utiliza en casa.
