ALGARATE
ENG-101
Last Monday, our instructor in PE class announced that we were required to watch a show to be
held at the Jose P. Laurel Roof deck building (JRDB) which was a Dancesport competition.
Dancesport denotes competitive ballroom dancing, as contrasted to social or exhibition dancing.
Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at exactly 5:00 in the afternoon, me with my blockmates went to
JRDB but the show doesnt started yet. We waited for so long like almost one and a half hour.
The show started at exactly 6:40pm. The competitors were from different colleges of LPUCAVITE: COECSA, CITHM, CAS and CBA. The audiences were only a few of PE class
students, some professors and friends of the competitors. Maybe they didnt know theres a
competition was held thats why only of few who attends. While the show was going on, i
slightly enjoy watching them with their beautiful colourful costumes as well as the props used.
And even though theyre not expert, I think they did their best to give a good show.
The show that we witnessed was very interesting, wonderful and educated. Interesting because
of the music that they used, the props, the ballet dancers who are expert on dancing, the
knowledge they put on that show, the creativeness, the excellent performance, and lastly the
energy that they exert just to make the show satisfying for the audience. It is also wonderful
because I am so amazed of what they do because it is hard to create a dance interpretation
showing the Filipino styles. Of course, it is educated because we learned things especially which
help and give us ideas for our subject P.E that we can use for our activities.
