This letter of recommendation is submitted on behalf of Ms. Crystal Clay.
Approximately five years ago, I was very fortunate to meet Ms. Clay at a Workshop
sponsored by Detroit Public Schools Vocational Component. During the question and
answer session of the Workshop, Ms. Clay provided responses to questions with a
tremendous amount of confidence and experience. Following the Workshop, many of the
students and Cosmetology professionals spent time talking with her.
In the 2009-2010 academic year, Ms. Clay began volunteering as a group leader at
Finney High School. Her duties included spending one day per week working with dating
adolescents who have relationship problems, utilizing the LOVE IS NOT ABUSE
curriculum. As her immediate supervisor, I have worked closely with her and have been
pleased with the quality of her work, her eagerness to develop her skills and her
commitment to her professional growth.
Ms. Clay is an energetic person who enjoys a challenge; but more importantly, she
addresses challenges in a professional and organized manner. She demonstrated excellent
skills in decision-making, group dynamics, leadership ability; and formulation of sound
recommendations. She will be an asset to any organization.
