Petroleum & Natural Gas engineering degree in Penn state is in particular three different
approaches, Drilling, production, and reservoir engineering. In Penn state the drilling program is
pretty weak and sums all that sub-major in only 4 credits. So, I narrowed my search for job offers
that’s not a Drilling engineering related.

Oxy, is an international oil and gas exploration and production company, based on market
capitalization of $66 billion at year-end 2009. And its mainstream operations are in
CALIFORNIA.

The job Duties are to “improve production through optimization and stimulation of wells in gas,
light oil and heavy oil, implement reservoir surveillance to improve performance of fluid
injection projects, identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction”, in which is what I
would be capable of after graduation.

The employer would expect candidates to be familiar with computer software related to
optimization and stimulation of wells in gas, light oil and heavy oil, which I’m familiar with.
Also as a native Arabic speaker I might be asked to communicate, such as meeting or
conferences, with other international oil companies.
