NEW MAGICKS FOR A NEW AGE

Volume III: Beyond Ritual: Historical, Philosophical, and
Scientific Considerations
Book X: Additional Topics
Part 16. Magickal Geometry and Its Adaptations for Modern Mass
Communication and Esoteric Pedagogy

On structures adapted from modern Qaballistic and Magickal models and their use in symbols useful for
mass communication, e.g., as easily- and quickly-written graffiti that can be recognized instantly for
what they are by any passer-by

1. A symbol for community, either microcosmic, e.g., a neighborhood in a human city or an ecosystem
inside a terrarium, or macrocosmic, e.g., Gaia: Unicursal Hexagram, at the center of which is a smaller,
invoking (apex up) Pentagram (the same as used for the Khabs is in the Ku and the Tantric Union of
Yoni with Lingam in Thelemic Sex-Magick)

2. A symbol for world or universe, a complete (but not necessarily closed) thermodynamic system
containing one or more communities: the symbol for community described above, inscribed in a
circumscribed equal-armed cross such that the center of the cross coincides with that common to the
Hexagram and Pentagram. That is, a circle with inscribed equal-armed cross and Unicursal Hexagram
having common centers, with smaller invoking Pentagram at center of Unicursal Pentagram, sharing the
common geometric center.

3. A Koch Curve or snowflake fractal of the Unicursal Hexagram. A regular Koch Curve starts
with an equilateral triangle. The middle third of each side of that triangle forms the base of another
equilateral triangle whose sides are each one-third the length of the original, apex pointing inward,
toward the center of the original, the base of the smaller triangle (the middle third of the side of the
original) then being eliminated. Then the middle third of each of the two remaining sides of the three
smaller becomes the absent base of a still smaller triangle, this one with apex pointing toward the center
of its parent triangle. And so on. Something similar can be done with the Unicursal Hexagram and the
Pentagram with it in each of the two symbols given above. Carried out to infinity in fractal fashion, these
would then result in chaotic (fractal) forms which might stand for living community, living world,
etc., as chaos (in the mathematical sense) is the hallmark of living systems.

4. 3-D versions of the three symbols given above. They would symbolize the same things, but would
not be useful as written graffiti. Instead, they might be more useful for pedagogical purposes, presented
via computer display or on posters.

5. The Unicursal Hexagram can easily be fit to the traditional Qaballistic Tree of Life glyph: its top
point coincides with Daath and with the Planet Saturn; its nadir coincides with Yesod and Luna; its
upper right point coincides with Chesed and Jupiter; its lower right, with Netzach and Venus; its upper
left, with Geburah and Mars; its lower left, with Hod and Mercury; and its center with Tiphareth and the
Sun.
In a similar manner, the glyph described in (2), above, could be fit to the 16-Sephiroth Tree of Life.
The latter contains the traditional, 10-Sephiroth Tree of Life, undamaged in any way, such that the
Middle Pillar of Consciousness of the traditional glyph coincides with that of the Transcendental Tree of
Life, which includes six new, transcendental Sephiroth (numbered [Null Set}, Zero, -1), 0, 1, and
2) arranged in a plane in exactly the same way that Hod, Netzach, Geburah, Chesed, Binah, and
Chokmah are in their own plane in the traditional glyph. From the bottom up, the Left Pillar of Power of
this transcendental portion of the expanded Tree of Life comprises , Zero, and -1, while its Right
Pillar of Grace comprises 0 (the first transfinite set, the Number of All Numbers), 1 (the second such
set, the Number of All Geometric Curves), and 2 (the third such, the Number of All Mathematical
Structures). The two planes, then, lie at right angles to each other, their intersection being the Middle
Pillar of Consciousness, which is the same for both.
This 16-Sephiroth Tree of Life can then be inscribed in a sphere such that Kether corresponds to one
of the poles of that sphere, Malkuth to the other, determining between them the axis of the sphere, along
which lie Yesod, Tiphareth, and Daath. On the equator of the sphere are arranged Geburah and Chesed,
180 degrees apart, with Zero equidistant (at 90 degrees) between them on one side, and 1 equidistant
between them on the other. Similarly, on a great circle 45 degrees north of the equator, Binah, -1,
Chokmah, and 2 are arranged in like fashion, such that -1 is more or less above Zero, Binah is above
Geburah, 2 is above 1, and Chokmah is above Chesed. And on another such great circle 45 degrees
south of the spheres equator, Hod, , Netzach, and 0 are equidistantly arrayed, such that Hod is
below Geburah, is below Zero, Netzach is below Chesed, and 0 is below 1.
The 3-D version of (2), then, would have the top point of the Hexagram corresponding with Daath
and the bottom point thereof with Yesod, while the two points on each side, upper and lower, would
coincide with the corresponding Sephiroth in the third and fifth Planes of the Tree of Life on that same
side: Geburah and Hod, for the Left Pillar of Severity/Strength; Chesed and Netzach, for the Right Pillar
of Mercy; and Zero, for the Left Transcendental Pillar of Power; and 0 and 1, for the Right
Transcendental Pillar of Grace. The center of the 3-D Cross, like that of the 3-D Hexagram and its
smaller, 3-D Pentagram, would coincide with Tiphareth, while its top point would coincide with Kether
and the north pole of the sphere, and its bottom one would likewise coincide with Malkuth and the
south pole of the sphere.
