PRESSURE IN LIQUIDS

Acts equally in all

Does not depend on direction
Depends on depth surface area
(high pressure,high (water level is same
depth) at each tube)

Affected by gravity
Depends on liquid force
density
(high gravity
(high density,low CHARACTERISTICS force,high pressure)
pressure)
Etc:density
oilwater
Application & formula….
FORMULA Construction of reservoir

P=hg
Where…
h=height 1.The base of structure is thick.
G=gravitational force 2.It is to withstand high
=density of liquid pressure at bottom.
Radioactive decay
 Radioactivity=spontaneous random
disintegration of an unstable nucleus
accompanied by the emission of ,,and .
 Radioactive decay=the process by which
unstable atomic nuclei emit subatomic particles
or radiation

Alpha decay Beta decay Gamma decay

Beta()
Charge=-1
Ionization power=moderate
Penetration power=moderate

Alpha()
Charge=+2
Ionization power=high
Penetration power=low

Gamma()
Charge=no charge
Ionization power=low
Penetration power=high
Geiger-muller tube

 How it’s work????

1. Argon gas will be ionised o produce argon ion and electrons
when radiation enter tube through mica window.
2. Electrons rapidly accelerated to anode while positive ions
accelerated to cathode.
3. Acceleration ion cause collision between ion and argon atom.
4. Pulse of current is recorded when positive or negative ion reach
either cathode and anode.
 RADIOACTIVE TRACKS….

 Thick
 Straight
 Close
 Almost same length

 Thin
 Sparse
 Curvy
 Different in length

 Short&very thin
 Scatter&sparse
 Disappear in short time
