DEFINITION
 Tablet may be defined as the solid unit
dosage form of medicament with or without
suitable diluents and prepared either by
molding or by compression.

 Tablet is a combination of ingredients that is


compressed into a solid mass.

 They are solid, flat or biconvex disc in shape.

 Dry granulation - In this process the powder


mixture is compressed without the use of heat and
solvent.
 Wet granulation - It simply involves wet
massing of the powder blend with a granulating
liquid, wet sizing and drying.
 Direct compression - Tablets are compressed
directly from powder mixture of API and suitable
excipients without pretreatment.
