FADE IN:

1 EXT. TOWN - DAY

SUPER: A FUTURE TEXAS.

The town has no modern cars and most modern buildings are
abandoned or destroyed, replaced with simple huts. The town
has the look of a time long ago. A few townsfolk walk
around, most wearing rags and lightly threaded clothes.

Two men arrive on horseback in the Civilian Police Force

outfit. As townsfolk notice them, some scurry in fear.
The Civilian Police Force uniform is black, with a red
belt. They also wear a red and white Beret. A golden badge
in the shape of a circle with the letters C.P.F. imprinted
on it is worn above the left breast.
On the right is MAXWELL PERCIVAL (30’s). A big, strong and
well-built warrior with a rough face and beard. On the left
is LANDON LYGOON (20’s) who is tall and handsome in his
uniform. He carries with him an air of arrogance and
contempt. Maxwell has a large spiked mace in his belt, while
Landon sports a sword in his.
LANDON LYGOON
God, that smell! These towns should
be burned along with all the trash.
(yells)
Terrorist sympathizers!
Maxwell flashes a dirty look at Landon, which Landon
notices.

LANDON LYGOON (CONT’D)

I forgot, you sympathize with
them. You forget where our
sympathy got us, Maxwell?

MAXWELL
We’re just here to find him,
Landon. We do that, then we go.
LANDON LYGOON
(in a loud theatrical voice)
Yes sir, lord Maxwell Percival!
They stop in front of a small home. A dirty old man mills
around out front. Landon gets off the horse and approaches
him.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 2.

LANDON LYGOON (CONT’D)

What are you doing here, old man?
OLD MAN
(to Landon)
Do you have any gold dust, food,
silver? Can you spare anything son?
LANDON LYGOON
(to the old man)
You can only use United States
dollars and coins. Gold and silver
are outlawed, don’t you know? Now
get going before we bring you in.
Maxwell gets off his horse and stands near Landon and
surveys the town.

OLD MAN
(to Landon)
Dollar’s don’t buy nothin’ anymore.
Do you have anything else?

LANDON LYGOON
No! Now do you know who’s in this
house here, huh old man?
OLD MAN
Ah, to hell with you..

The old man begins to stagger off, but before he can, Landon
kicks him violently to the ground. Several people from the
town watch on with hatred. Maxwell goes to the man on the
ground.

OLD MAN (CONT’D)

(to Landon)
You should be ashamed!
Maxwell helps him up and proceeds to give him some small
silver coins.
OLD MAN (CONT’D)
(to Maxwell)
Oh, God bless you son.

The old man walks away as fast as he can.

LANDON LYGOON
What the hell, Maxwell!

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 3.

MAXWELL
(to Landon)
He aint hurtin’ anybody! Now let’s
find this man!
Maxwell leads Landon quickly to the front door of the hut
and knocks.
LANDON LYGOON
(yelling)
OPEN UP!
Slowly the door opens and a dirty young woman appears.
WOMEN
Yes?
Landon has the look of a wolf that’s found its prey and
walks in the hut.

2 INT. THE HUT - SAME

LANDON LYGOON
Where is Hadeem?
WOMEN
(beat)
I don’t know, he left. Heard the
C.P.F was lookin’ for him. Left me
alone.. With our son.

She walks over to a poor excuse for a crib where a baby

lays.
MAXWELL
(to the women)
Well, we’re sorry we bugged -

LANDON LYGOON
(interrupts)
He was your lover. Tell me, did you
know you were married to a
terrorist? Hadeem the terrorist? Do
you know the penalty for aiding a
terrorist?
The women becomes frightened as the baby begins to cry.
LANDON LYGOON (CONT’D)
I’m afraid we’re gonna have to
bring you in. Also, you’re behind
on your taxes. I doubt you can pay
it, right?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 4.

WOMEN
No. I told you, he left me. He
wasn’t a terrorist. If I go, who’ll
take care of my son?

LANDON LYGOON
Good point. You have no money, yet
you owe. You aided a suspected
terrorist who we can’t find and all
you have is your son. Tsk, Tsk.
You’re just... not a very valuable
member of society, are you?
Fear grips the woman’s face as Landon draws his sword..
MAXWELL
(to Landon)
Wait!
- Landon quickly stabs her in the stomach. Maxwell pushes
Landon down and tries in vein to help her. The woman’s
terror-filled eyes burn a hole into Maxwell’s. She
struggles to get some words out.

THE WOMAN
(slurred and very weakly)
My.. baby.
She coughs up blood and slouches to the ground, dead.

MAXWELL (CONT’D)
(to Landon)
You son-of-a-bitch!

LANDON LYGOON
It had to be done! What good would
she be!? You know she couldn’t take
care of herself, let alone that
child! They were already dead.

Landon shakes as he wipes the blood off his sword.

LANDON LYGOON (CONT’D)
Now, take care of the baby. I’m not
doing everything.

Landon begins rummaging through the house for anything of

value. Maxwell stares at the dead women, her blood pooling
beneath her. Maxwell’s attention turns to the crying baby.
LANDON LYGOON (CONT’D)
What are you waiting for? Do it!
Get it over with!

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 5.

While Landon continues rummaging, Maxwell pulls out his mace

which Landon doesn’t notice. Maxwell turns and with a loud
yell, swings and hits Landon in the back sending him
crashing to the ground.
Dazed, Landon tries to reach for his sword as Maxwell
quickly swings again. This time hitting Landon’s head. His
blood splatter’s against the wall and across Maxwell’s face.
The only sound remaining is that of the baby’s crying.

3 EXT. THE HUT - CONTINUOUS

Townsfolk have gathered out front. Maxwell comes running out
of the hut with the baby in his arms, the baby still crying.
Maxwell pays them no attention as he jumps on his horse and
awkwardly tries to ride the horse while holding the baby in
one arm.

4 EXT. THE FOREST - LATER

A stream flows deep within the forest. Maxwell’s horse is

tied to a tree, while Maxwell, still with blood on his face,
is washing the baby boy.

5 INT. A WARM HUT - NIGHT

The hut is warmed by a fireplace that crackles. Maxwell
stands in front of a wooden table that the baby lays naked
on while a large women cleans him. Maxwell hands her some
silver coins. She stuffs the coins in a pouch and puts the
baby up to her breast as he takes milk.
Maxwell approaches a nearby window and stares up at the
stars.

BIG WOMEN
(to Maxwell)
He’s gonna be a looker. Gotta name?
Maxwell looks at the women, unsure.

MAXWELL
(long beat)
I think.. Alexander.
FADE TO BLACK.

FADE IN:
A golden map of America slowly burns up from the outside in.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 6.

VOICE OVER
As America began to fall deeper and
deeper into bankruptcy, society
began to unravel. The welfare and
warfare system had changed America
greatly. The dollar had become
useless. A nuclear terrorist attack
on Washington led to the creation
of the Civilian Police Force.
A nuclear bomb explodes over Washington D.C. Troops march.

VOICE OVER (CONT’D)

The Civilian Police Force was setup
to hunt down any suspected threats
to the government. All forms of
broadcast media and travel were
seized by the Federal Government.
America was no longer the land of
the free.
The Civilian Police Force stop people at road checkpoints,
major airports are completely empty. Middle Eastern men are
marched into camps.
VOICE OVER (CONT’D)
As time went on and the country
started to become drastically
poorer as the dollar continued to
lose it’s value, and the Civilian
Police became increasingly corrupt.
The Civilian Police Force attacks civilians dressed in rags,
taking peoples money and setting homes on fire. Middle
eastern men are forced down while a "T" is burnt on the left
side of their face.
VOICE OVER (CONT’D)
Large militias started to grow in
force across the country. One of
the largest of them was Liberty.
Lead by the great warrior Alexander
and his father Maxwell, Liberty had
become a great threat to the local
Civilian Police Force of Texas.

The map completely burns up and we go to black.

VOICE OVER (CONT’D)
This, is their story.
7.

6 EXT. LIBERTY - DAY

High 30 foot walls surround Liberty. A stream winds down
from the northern forested mountain to the center of the
town forming a small lake. Nothing can be seen for miles
outside the town.

About 35 small huts are scattered about the town. A horse

stable, church, armory and ranch complete the interior of
the town.

To the far west are the gates of Liberty. A single, 35 foot

watch tower is positioned just south and above the gates.
Liberty is nestled at the base of a mountain, protecting it
from the outside world.

7 EXT. LIBERTY LAKE SHORE - DAY

ALEXANDER (18) stands shirtless practicing moves with his
sword. He has the sort of body which suggests he does this
often. Very attractive with blond, somewhat unmanageable
hair which drapes over his sweaty face. The shorts are made
of a very thin cloth. Behind Alexander we hear the sound of
water splashing.
THE LAKE
TYLER RANDELL (18) swims aggressively to shore. He has dark
brown hair, tall with an athletic physique. As he reaches
the shore, Alexander takes notice of him.
TYLER
Alexander, my fastest lap yet. Care
to race?

ALEXANDER
(grins)
Keep workin’ at it Tyler. But
you’ll never be faster than me.

TYLER
Oh yeah? Let’s go then..
Tyler gestures to the lake as they dive in and race across.

LATER
Tyler and Alexander both sit on the shore. Water dripping
from their faces.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 8.

ALEXANDER
(breathless)
I let you win.
TYLER
(laughs)
You gonna watch the speech?
ALEXANDER
The great William Aiden? Everyone’s
been talkin’ about him. Not sure
what the big deal is.
TYLER
(beat)
Can you imagine not having to worry
about the CPF? We have to armor up
just to go outside of Liberty. Some
say he’ll disband it. Can you
imagine that? End the wars..
ALEXANDER
(beat)
I’ll believe it when I see it. You
have one of your dreams about him?
TYLER
(laughs)
No, not yet. You’ll be the first,
well the only one to know when I
do.
Footsteps approach. Maxwell, now much older stands before
them.

MAXWELL
Alexander, get that wood?
ALEXANDER
Yes, hours ago.

MAXWELL
Tyler how’s that pretty mom of
yours doing?

TYLER
She’s okay. Been busy.
MAXWELL
(beat)
Yeah.. You boys ready for tomorrow?
Alexander? Could get tough out
there..

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 9.

ALEXANDER
(beat)
Yeah, sure.

They notice Alexander’s disinterest.

TYLER
(to Alexander)
You’re the best we have.

MAXWELL
(to Tyler)
Yeah and just think how much better
he’d be without the attitude.

Alexander gets up and begins walking back toward town as

Tyler and Maxwell follow.
ALEXANDER
Let’s go.. I’ve gotta go watch the
new "savior" speak.

TYLER
Oh you laugh now, but just you see.
MAXWELL
Savior? What the hell you on about
Xander?

8 EXT. LIBERTY CHURCH - NIGHT

An old white church with a modern TV where the preacher
should be. The pews are packed with the people of Liberty.
The door to the church is wide open with people standing at
the back and out the door, struggling to hear.
In the front row is Alexander. Seated to his right is AISHA
NEVAEH (19), along with her family who are Arab. Her hair
and much of her face are covered in black middle eastern
garb.
Her parents, MISHA AND ZIYAD sit next to her dressed in a
similar fashion except for Ziyad, who’s head and face are
fully exposed. Ziyad has a mark on the left side of his face
with the letter, T.
To Alexander’s left is Tyler and his mother, JENNIFER
RANDELL (MID 30’S), along with Maxwell.

ON THE TV
WILLIAM AIDEN (40’s) is being interviewed.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 10.

INTERVIEWER
After years of no election, people
are finally being allowed to vote.
How will you change things?

WILLIAM AIDEN
We have to regain our trust in
freedom. It’s as though freedom has
become our enemy, and tyranny our
friend. I don’t think that’s the
way it should ever be. At least not
in America.
INTERVIEWER
So you say, but there are those who
say our lax, open society invited
the attack on our capital and damn
near destroyed America. That if we
don’t continue to fight them and
seek them out, that we will only
invite further attacks.
WILLIAM AIDEN
It’s imperative that we, if we wish
to retain our freedom, we must stop
getting involved in unnecessary
conflicts and wars. If we do that,
then we need not succumb to the
temptation of an all powerful and
eventually tyrannical government.
INTERVIEWER
Do you worry about these anti
government militias being formed?

The people of Liberty exchange looks of excitement.

WILLIAM AIDEN
Absolutely not. It’s the Civilian
Police Force that I and most
Americans fear. It’s the suspension
of our rights that I fear. If it’s
freedom terrorists want to destroy
then why has our government
suspended most of our freedoms?
It’s illogical.

INTERVIEWER
So how will you do it?
WILLIAM AIDEN
We have to begin right now and
disband the Civilian Police Force

WILLIAM AIDEN (cont’d)

and restore the Constitution and
Bill of Rights. Without it, we’re
lost.
The church erupts with cheering and clapping.
WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)
Once we regain our faith in
freedom, then hope can and will
eventually return. And I’m speaking
of a meaningful hope that is built
upon the principles of freedom that
made our country great, not the
tyrannical and almost socialistic
principles we’ve been following
that have brought us down. End the
wars, restore sound money and then
we can get back to prosperity.

The interview ends as the town applauds.

ALEXANDER
(to Tyler)
They’ll take him out if he
continues talking like that..

TYLER
Told you! He’s on to something.

9 INT. LIBERTY ARMORY - NIGHT

30+ people stand around a long, wooden table. Along the

walls are numerous guns, swords, knives, maces and shields.
Alexander, Tyler, Ziyad, Aisha and Misha are closest to
Maxwell who stands at the table, pointing down to a worn
map..
MAXWELL
Looks like they’ll be trying to
raid Reforge. Looks like a
terrorist run...

ZIYAD
(chuckles)
We’re everywhere...
MAXWELL
They won’t be expecting us. We
surprise them, stop them and get
back here. Hopefully this will be a
good haul.. We need it.
12.

10 EXT. TOWN OF REFORGE - DAY

A wooden sign at the entrance says "WELCOME TO REFORGE".
Below the sign stand all the warriors of Liberty as well as
the local townspeople ready for battle.
In front are Maxwell, Alexander, Ziyad, Aisha and Misha.
About 30 more men from liberty make up the rest. Tyler hangs
back on horseback with his bow and arrow. Alexander stands
with two swords stowed away on his back.
Maxwell sports a cross around his neck and has his favorite
spiked mace and a big shield. Ziyad, Aisha and Misha stand
looking very out of place in their black Muslim garb with no
weapons to be seen.

Behind them are about a hundred local people with some

shotguns, swords, maces and other random weapons of the day.
DOWN THE ROAD

The Civilian Police Force rides into view on horseback. A

group of about 25 men pulling two large wagons with covered
property.
AT THE TOWN ENTRANCE

MAXWELL
(yells)
Here they are!
The Civilian Police Force stops before the welcoming
committee. A tall, older man gets down from his horse and
approaches the front of the line.
CIVILIAN POLICE FORCE MAN
By order of the United States
Government and the Texas Civilian
Police Force, we demand you move so
we can enter and search!
Maxwell and some of the men of Liberty laugh.
MAXWELL
This town will give in to no such
demands. Leave now and save
yourself an embarrassing defeat.
The man looks incredulous.

CIVILIAN POLICE FORCE MAN

Is that right? What is your name?
Maxwell smirks.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 13.

MAXWELL
Papa Smurf.
The man slowly makes his way back to his horse and gets on.
He gestures to the rest of his men to continue forward into
the town. Maxwell kisses his cross, closes his eyes and
prays quickly. He opens his eyes and raises his mace and..
Both sides CHARGE.
As the two sides coalesce men from both sides
fall. Alexander charges with swords in both hands and moves
with incredibly quickness and grace, slaying soldier after
soldier. Sometimes two at once.
Ziyad, Aisha and Misha flash about with the use of various
martial art’s moves as well as throwing daggers. The
Civilian Police Force is completely unprepared for them.
Tyler, hanging back on horseback picks off men with his bow
and arrow very quickly. The remaining men from Liberty and
Reforge join in with general hand-to-hand fighting, lead by
Maxwell who clubs men down one after the other.

The Civilian Police Force is being routed. As the CPF’s

numbers dwindle, the local townsfolk stop fighting and
instead watch Alexander.
Alexander, surrounded by what’s left of the Civilian Police
Force slaughters them with unbelievable quickness and ease.
The rest of the Civilian Police Force men start to retreat
as the victors cheer.
TOWNS PEOPLE
(chant in unison)
Alexander! Alexander! Alexander!
10 remaining Civilian Police Force fighters flee on
horseback, leaving the prize of two large wagons filled with
weapons and coins. Guns and swords go up in the air as the
victors cheer in celebration.
Alexander stands motionless, body covered in blood. Maxwell
pats Alexander on the back.

MAXWELL
You alright? Xander?
Alexander snaps out of it and nods his head.
14.

11 EXT. RIVER BED - LATER

Alexander shakily kneels down to the water and splashes his
face. He looks down to see his hands shaking, red. He begins
frantically washing the blood off his arms and hands.

Alexander is startled to hear a twig snap. BRAYDEN MURRAY

(18) stands watching him. Brayden is holding the reins of a
black horse. Brayden has a sharply attractive face with
distinctive long, dark hair. He sports a mark in the form of
the letter H on the left side of his face.

BRAYDEN
Didn’t mean to scare you.
Alexander forces a grin and continues to wash in the water.

ALEXANDER
Nothing can scare me, I’m a fierce
warrior.
Brayden smirks and walks with the horse across the river to
Alexander.

BRAYDEN
I’m from Reforge. Wanted to thank
you. The way you fought..
Incredible. Names Brayden.

They shake hands as Alexander see’s the mark on his

face. Brayden puts his hand over his mark, embarrassed by
it.
BRAYDEN
(beat)
Got it a few years ago. Looking to
get the terrorist mark next.
Alexander laughs.

ALEXANDER
I’ve never even seen one for H
before..
Maxwell appears.

MAXWELL
(interrupts)
Alexander.
ALEXANDER
(to Brayden)

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 15.

ALEXANDER (cont’d)
Well, nice meeting you.. Brayden.
Good luck on getting your next
mark. I’ll probably beat you to it.

12 INT. LOCAL CIVILIAN POLICE FORCE HEADQUARTERS, OFFICE - DAY

The room has wooden floors and an oak desk with a large
window behind it. At the desk sits LUKE DARION (40’s) who is
doing paperwork. He’s dressed in a Civilian Police Force
outfit and has a rough face, with some scars and a goatee. A
young man nervously enters and stands at attention. Luke
takes notice.
LUKE DARION
What?

YOUNG MAN
Sir, Another transport has been
taken. We’ve just had 10 men report
back. They barely survived and they
say it was Alexander... and
Liberty!
Luke slams his fist to the table and then runs his hand
through his hair in frustration. He rises and stares out the
window. The young man exits.

LUKE DARION
(to himself)
We must find these people.

13 EXT. REFORGE COURTYARD - NIGHT

The people of Liberty join the town of Reforge in
celebration. About 100 people. An older gentlemen plays a
banjo while many people dance around a fire. The beer flows
and laughter fills the air. Alexander sits just outside the
dance as Aisha approaches. She’s not wearing her garb which
reveals her full beauty.
AISHA
Hey Xander.

ALEXANDER
Hey.
Aisha sits next to Alexander and turns her attention to
everyone dancing.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 16.

AISHA
(to Alexander)
You were amazing today.
ALEXANDER
(scoffs)
Yeah.
Aisha see’s Tyler dancing wildly with a girl.
AISHA
Look at him go!
Alexander looks up to notice Tyler and forces a smile that
quickly fades.
ALEXANDER
Almost as graceful as me.
The dance ends as Tyler joins Alexander and Aisha. Tyler is
out of breath but he bows and extends his hand to Aisha and
says in a heavy English accent -

TYLER
Aisha, care to dance?
AISHA
(to Tyler)
Ok. But don’t you throw me all over
the place..
She takes his hand as he ushers her to the dance area. The
music takes on a faster pace as people clap. Tyler laughs as
he takes Aisha’s hand and let’s loose. Alexander grins as he
watches Tyler swing her all over the place. Aisha smiles
brightly.
Alexander continues to watch as Tyler and Aisha are
interrupted by HAMAD (21), who is middle eastern, tall,
attractive and has the mark of the terrorist. Aisha
struggles to keep Hamad from Tyler. She willingly goes with
Hamad as Tyler stands dejected.
Alexander then notices Brayden dancing with an older women.
Brayden and the women are smiling and laughing. Brayden
notices Alexander and brings the women over to Alexander.

SUSANNA (40’S) is a large, jovial women. She has a bright

smile and carries the warmth of a loving mother. Alexander
stands up.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 17.

BRAYDEN
Alexander this is my mother,
Susanna.

Susanna’s eyes carry a happy thanks as she gives Alexander a

mammoth hug which he is not expecting.
SUSANNA
(to Alexander)
We can’t thank you enough for
helping us!
ALEXANDER
(beat)
It’s no problem.

CHARLIE (40’s) who is Brayden’s father, walks up behind

Alexander. Charlie is tall, thin and sports a beard.
CHARLIE
(to Susanna sarcastically)
Damn, women you like’ em young
huh?!
Charlie moves beside Susanna and puts his arm around her
with a big grin on his face.

SUSANNA
Oh!! Alexander don’t pay him any
mind.
Charlie offers his hand to Alexander.

SUSANNA (CONT’D)
Alexander, this is my husband,
Charlie - he’s quite the kidder.
CHARLIE
(to Alexander)
Son, you were amazing out there.
All of you were. Can’t thank you
enough.
ALEXANDER
Thanks.
CHARLIE
(to Susanna)
Alright woman, you ready to dance?

Charlie tickles Susanna as they go dancing together,

laughing. Brayden and Alexander turn toward everyone
dancing.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 18.

BRAYDEN
(chuckles)
Hope they weren’t too much.
ALEXANDER
Nah.. They seem great.
BRAYDEN
(sighs)
I owe them everything. They’re not
my real folks. They took me in
though. After I got this -
Brayden puts his hand up to his mark.
OTHER SIDE OF THE DANCE

Maxwell notices Alexander and Brayden conversing, while

talking with a local townsfolk. Maxwell is not happy with
it.
BACK TO ALEXANDER/BRAYDEN

ALEXANDER
(to Brayden)
I didn’t see you out there today.
BRAYDEN
Never been much of a fighter.

ALEXANDER
(laughs)
More of a lover?

Brayden turns and looks Alexander dead in the eyes.

BRAYDEN
(laughs)
You could say that. My skill lies
elsewhere.

ALEXANDER
(long beat)
I give. Where?
Brayden turns, puts his hand on Alexander’s shoulder.

BRAYDEN
Hold on, I’ll show you.
Alexander is perplexed as Brayden walks over to the old man
playing the banjo. The old man gladly gives it to Brayden as
the local townsfolk gather around, excited.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 19.

Alexander moves to the front. Brayden sits and begins

strumming the familiar cord to SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW in
the style of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. The local towns people
are familiar with his singing and start swaying together.

BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
To our friends from Liberty and
their fierce warrior - Alexander.
Brayden beautifully sings the entire song. Everyone
applauds, including Alexander. Brayden hands the banjo back
to the old man and approaches Alexander and theatrically
bows.
BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
(smiling)
Well, that’s what I do. Did you
like it?
ALEXANDER
Of course. How’d you learn?
BRAYDEN
(beat)
... Just picked it up here and
there.
ALEXANDER
You’re very good.

Everyone starts leaving, making their way back to their

huts. The people of Liberty start packing their horses,
readying to leave.

BRAYDEN
Do you have to go?
Alexander turns to see everyone, including Maxwell leaving.
ALEXANDER
Yeah, looks that way. I’ll see
yah’ Thanks for the song.
They shake hands as Brayden struggles to let go.
BRAYDEN
Yeah, anytime.
Alexander turns and walks toward his horse while Brayden
watches him leave.
20.

14 INT. MAXWELL’S HUT, KITCHEN - NIGHT

Maxwell sits at an old wooden table reading from the Bible.
Alexander enters the kitchen and sits across from Maxwell,
looking unhappy.

MAXWELL
(sighs)
You always look down, Xander.
ALEXANDER
Just tired.
Maxwell closes the Bible.
MAXWELL
(beat)
Maybe the new election will change
things?
Alexander lays his head down.
ALEXANDER
(beat)
Just tired of the fighting.
MAXWELL
(beat)
You’re doing God’s work out there,
Alexander.
Alexander laughs in amazement.
ALEXANDER
I’m glad you see it that way.

MAXWELL
Someone has to stand up to them.
Don’t you see that?

ALEXANDER
(long beat)
With every battle... I feel...
different.
Maxwell slides the Bible toward Alexander. Alexander gets up
from the table.
MAXWELL
Helps when I’m down.
Alexander walks away.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 21.

MAXWELL (CONT’D)
Xander, why don’t you take
Thaddeus’ run tomorrow? Should be
easy.. Help you clear your head.
Alexander thinks about it.
ALEXANDER
Sure.. Night.

15 EXT. TOWN OF REFORGE - EVENING

Luke Darion enters the town of Reforge on horseback, along
with around 100 men. Charlie, while cleaning his horse is
the only person to see them enter and approaches, alarmed.
CHARLIE
(to Luke)
Can I help you?

Luke gets off his horse and approaches Charlie. Some of the
towns people gather around, worried. Susanna comes to her
husbands side.
LUKE DARION
(to the crowd)
I’m Luke Darion, head of the Texas
Civilian Police Force. There was a
man here, yesterday. Give him and
that town up and your town will be
saved.

The townsfolk exchange looks of fear.

CHARLIE
We don’t know what you’re talking
about. Are you sure you have the
right town?
Luke backhands Charlie across the face. Susanna tries to
come to her husband’s aid.
SUSANNA
(to Luke)
Sir, please! We don’t know what
you’re talking about!
LUKE DARION
I’ve got 10 cowards saying they saw
and fought Alexander of Liberty
here! Now give them up!
Nobody says anything.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 22.

LUKE DARION (CONT’D)

Nothing? Okay.
Luke turns around to get back on his horse as one of the men
from Reforge angrily goes after Luke with a knife. But
before anyone can react, Luke is able to grab and break the
man’s arm and stabs him with his own weapon. Some of the
women shriek in fear. Luke gets back on his horse.
LUKE DARION (CONT’D)
(to his troops)
Destroy the town and kill them. A
message has to be sent. Defy the
American government and pay the
consequences. Terrorism, domestic
or otherwise, cannot be tolerated.

16 EXT - ROAD LEADING TO REFORGE - MORNING

Alexander rides alone on horseback. He notices smoke
billowing on the horizon. He looks alarmed and kicks the
horse..

ALEXANDER
Hiyah! Hiyah!
JUST OUTSIDE REFORGE

Alexander is stunned to see the town completely burned.

IN THE TOWN
Numerous dead bodies lay everywhere. Alexander jumps off the
horse and looks around for any survivors.

He comes to two bodies with faces he recognizes. Brayden’s

parents, Susanna and Charlie lay lifeless.
ALEXANDER
(to himself)
Oh no.
Alexander begins running through the town looking for signs
of life.

END OF TOWN
As he nears the end of town he hears something from the
forest and enters it to see Brayden tied up and being beaten
on the ground by one Civilian Police Force member, while 2
more stand and watch. Their drunk laughter cackles
throughout the woods.

Alexander removes his swords and runs toward the men.

Brayden’s eyes fill with hope as he’s the only one who see’s
Alexander advancing.
With several swift swipes and jabs of his swords the 3 men
are dead. Brayden writhes on the ground. He has a bruised,
beaten face.
Alexander unties Brayden. Brayden jumps up and runs to the
bodies of his mother and father as Alexander follows.

BRAYDEN
Mother!
ALEXANDER
They’re gone.

Brayden’s face fills with grief as he hugs his mother’s

lifeless body and sobs. Alexander pulls him away, but
Brayden tries to push past. Alexander doesn’t let him go and
instead, spins around and awkwardly embraces Brayden trying
to console him.

ALEXANDER (CONT’D)
(whispers)
I’m sorry.
Alexander places his hand on Brayden’s head as Brayden sobs
on his shoulder.

ALEXANDER (CONT’D)
(surprised)
The CPF did this?

Brayden continues to sob.

17 EXT. DARK FOREST - LATER

The fire crackles as Brayden stares into it, deep in
thought. Brayden’s horse is tied to the same tree as
Alexander’s. Alexander sits next to Brayden. Alexander’s
tent behind them. Some of Brayden’s cuts are bleeding a
little.
BRAYDEN
I can’t believe they’re gone. I
would be too, if it weren’t for
you... They wanted us to give you
guys up. As if we knew... I wish I
could fight like you.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 24.

Alexander gets up and wets a piece of cloth with some water

from an old canteen. He kneels down in front of Brayden.
Brayden becomes uncomfortable, completely unsure what he’s
doing.
ALEXANDER
You have cuts.
Brayden grabs and holds Alexanders hand.

BRAYDEN
(weakly)
What’re you doin?
ALEXANDER
Let go of my hand..
Brayden lets go as Alexander softly wipes at his face.

18 INT. THE TENT - LATE NIGHT

The tent is open enough to see the beautiful night sky.

Brayden sleeps to the right of Alexander. Alexander sits,
with his knees bent and his head resting on his knee’s
watching over Brayden.

19 INT. THE TENT - MORNING

Brayden painfully wakes up and puts his hands to his face
grimacing because of the cuts and bruises. He sits up enough
to notice Alexander sleeping next to him. Alexander, laying
almost in the fetal position. Brayden gives him a weak kiss
of thanks on the cheek and exits the tent.

20 EXT. GRASSY FIELD - DAY

Brayden and Alexander are both on horseback.

ALEXANDER
Have anywhere to go?

BRAYDEN
(beat)
Not really.
ALEXANDER
(beat)
I can take you to Liberty.
Brayden’s face lights up with hope.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 25.

BRAYDEN
You serious? Can you to teach me
how to fight?
ALEXANDER
You want to fight?
BRAYDEN
I do now.

21 EXT. ISOLATED DIRT ROAD - LATER

Alexander and Brayden make their way toward Liberty.
ALEXANDER
(To Brayden)
Look.
Alexander points to Liberty’s high walls now appearing along
the horizon.
BRAYDEN
Wow.

22 EXT. LIBERTY GATES - AFTERNOON

The gates of Liberty open as Alexander and Brayden ride in.
Maxwell and some of the townspeople welcome them.
Alexander and Brayden get off their horses as Brayden
Surveys the town in awe. Maxwell approaches Alexander and
pulls him aside as the Liberty Gates slam shut behind them.

MAXWELL
(whispers to Alexander)
What in the hell is he doing here?
Maxwell secretly points to Brayden so only Alexander can see
him.
ALEXANDER
The CPF destroyed Reforge. They’re
all dead, except him. He has no
where else to go.

Maxwell looks like he’s been punched in the gut as he slowly

turns toward some of the local townsfolk standing by.
MAXWELL
(to the townsfolk)
They destroyed Reforge.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 26.

Those that hear the news appear hurt as Maxwell turns back
to Alexander.
MAXWELL (CONT’D)
I can’t believe you brought him
here, and with that mark!

Alexander sighs with frustration.

ALEXANDER
Where else would he go?

MAXWELL
He’s gonna be your problem, then.
ALEXANDER
(sighs)
I thought we were doing Gods work?
Maxwell approaches Brayden and notices the bruises and scars
on his face. He grabs and turns Brayden’s face to look at
them.

MAXWELL (CONT’D)
Some mean cuts there. We’ll have
Jennifer look at them. She’ll fix
yah up. So.. Will you work and
fight?

BRAYDEN
Absolutely. Not much of a fighter
but I’m good with horses, if you
need.
MAXWELL
We could... Can you read?
BRAYDEN
Yes.

MAXWELL
Excellent. Alexander can show you
around. Welcome.
Maxwell briskly walks away as some other members of the town
come by and shake hands with and welcome Brayden.
27.

23 EXT. FOREST - DAY

Alexander swings an axe splintering wood. Tyler sits and
watches Alexander as he eats an apple, resting.
ALEXANDER
Good thing your chopping down that
apple. That’ll keep us warm..
TYLER
(beat)
I had another dream last night.
ALEXANDER
What was it this time?
TYLER
(beat)
Reforge. And.. Now this. We should
do something.
Alexander throws his axe down and sits next to Tyler taking
a break.

TYLER (CONT’D)
Hard to believe they’re all gone.
ALEXANDER
They’re not all gone.

TYLER
How’s he doing?
ALEXANDER
Okay. He wants me to teach him to
fight.
TYLER
Makes sense. Do you know what that
mark on his face means?

Alexander just looks at Tyler, not answering. Aisha comes

through the forest carrying buckets of water. Tyler lights
up when he see’s her. She brings the buckets and places them
down next to the boys and plops down to rest.

TYLER (CONT’D)
Aisha, care for a bite?
Tyler shows her his half eaten apple. She looks at it like
she’s going to get sick.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 28.

AISHA
(breathlessly)
Too tired.
TYLER
Then maybe you know..
AISHA
What?
TYLER
The mark on that Brayden’s face.
What’s it mean??
A voice from the forest -
BRAYDEN (O.S.)
It means homosexual.
Brayden comes out from the tree’s with a horse in tow.
TYLER
(beat)
Oh.
Alexander tries to break the awkwardness.
ALEXANDER
(to Brayden)
Workin’ the horse in?
BRAYDEN
Trying to.
Alexander stands up and does introductions.

ALEXANDER
(to Brayden)
Brayden, these are my terrorist
friends. Tyler and Aisha.

Brayden forces a laugh as Aisha gets up.

AISHA
(to Brayden)
I never got a chance to tell you
but the song was beautiful. I hope
to hear you sing again sometime.
TYLER
(to Brayden)
I wish I could sing like that.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 29.

Tyler jumps up and offers his hand to Brayden. As Brayden

grasps Tyler’s hand, Tyler has an a quick vision.
TYLER’S VISION
Alexander kneels before Brayden and cleans his wounds.
Brayden kisses Alexander in the tent.
END OF VISIONS
TYLER
(beat)
Any.. Friend of Alexander is a
friend of mine.
BRAYDEN
(to Tyler)
Fair enough.
Tyler seems uncomfortable which Alexander notices.
TYLER
(to everyone)
I guess I’d better get back.

24 INT. JENNIFER AND TYLER’S HUT - NIGHT

Tyler enters to see Jennifer sitting in a chair, reading a
book. The book is titled; Freedom, Peace and Prosperity, by
William Aiden. She looks up from the book.
JENNIFER
(to Tyler)
You must be hungry.

She gets up, sets the book down and moves over to the fire,
where a pot cooks a soup. She pours the soup into a bowl.
Tyler takes her book, sits in her chair and starts reading
it himself.

JENNIFER (CONT’D)
I was reading that..
Tyler grins.

TYLER
You’ve read it 10 times.
She gives in and hands Tyler the bowl of soup as she stands.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 30.

TYLER (CONT’D)
Someone has a crush.
She gives Tyler a look of slight embarrassment.
JENNIFER
It’s his beliefs I’m smitten with.
TYLER
No, I mean the new guy.

JENNIFER
Brayden, poor thing.
TYLER
Let’s just say he really likes
Alexander.

JENNIFER
What on earth are you talking
about? The mark? Oh, that doesn’t
mean anything.

TYLER
It’s true.. I could feel it.
Jennifer becomes serious.
JENNIFER
Tyler, you know I don’t want to
hear about that.
Tyler sighs and goes back to reading.

25 INT - LIBERTY STABLES - NIGHT

A yellow glow from the light’s illuminate the stables.
Brayden works, moving stuff around and cleaning. Alexander
enters the stables.

BRAYDEN
Hey.
ALEXANDER
Figuring it out?

BRAYDEN
As much as I can. One thing - where
do I sleep?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 31.

ALEXANDER
It’s here in the back..
Alexander walks Brayden toward the back of the stable,
reaches into a room and turns a flickering light on. A
small, dirty bed with months of dust.

ALEXANDER (CONT’D)
It’s not much..
Brayden looks at the bed over Alexander’s shoulder, but
doesn’t give it much thought.
ALEXANDER (CONT’D)
(beat)
I’ll try and get you a real room.

BRAYDEN
It’ll be fine.
Brayden goes back to cleaning.

26 INT. MAXWELL’S HUT, TABLE - NIGHT

Maxwell is sitting and eating some beans. Alexander enters
the hut and sits across from Maxwell.
MAXWELL
You check on em?
ALEXANDER
Yeah.
MAXWELL
How’s he doing?
ALEXANDER
... Almost too good.
MAXWELL
Probably shock.
ALEXANDER
What about the extra room? That bed
out there is crap.

MAXWELL
(beat)
Don’t think that’s a good idea.
Alexander sighs and shakes in deep frustration.
32.

27 INT. LIBERTY STABLES - LATER

A single light burns from the back stable room. Alexander
enters with a small book in his right hand.

THE STABLE ROOM

Brayden lays shirtless in bed, deep in thought as Alexander
appears in the doorway. Brayden sits up, happy to see him.
BRAYDEN
Hey.
Alexander enters a bit hesitantly, then hands Brayden the
book. Brayden sits up and motions for Alexander to sit next
to him.

BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
Here, sit. I’m about to go crazy in
here by myself. If you don’t mind?
Alexander sits as Brayden studies the book.

BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
Hmm.. The Day They Came. What’s it
about?
Alexander recites, as if from memory.

ALEXANDER
Humans trying to escape tyrannical
aliens that have taken over the
world.

Brayden laughs.
BRAYDEN
You mean it’s about us?
ALEXANDER
(smiles)
I’ve read it numerous times,
thought you could use something to
keep your mind off of things.
BRAYDEN
Thanks, certainly could.
SUDDENLY, BELLS RING which make them both jump. Brayden
jumps up and throws a shirt on as they both run to the door,
looking toward the commotion toward the Liberty Gates.

There’s a commotion as a modern SUV enters through the

gates. Residents of Liberty stream from their homes to see
who the visitor is. Alexander is shocked to see William
Aiden exit the vehicle, shaking hands. William is dressed in
very nice clothes for the period and two men in black
clothes move about as body guards for him.
ALEXANDER
Oh my God, it’s him.
BRAYDEN
Who?
ALEXANDER
William Aiden.
LIBERTY COURTYARD

Alexander and Brayden exit the stables and run toward the
Presidential candidate. Tyler along with Jennifer join up
with Alexander and Brayden.
TYLER
(to Alexander)
Can you believe it?
ALEXANDER
I wonder how he found us?

Maxwell is welcoming William as he shakes hands. Jennifer,

Tyler, Alexander and Brayden reach the crowd and stop.
William Aiden sticks out his hand for Jennifer as she shakes
it and doesn’t let go.

JENNIFER
(to William)
Thank you for coming, your message
is so important. I just love you -
your message.

They continue shaking hands.

WILLIAM AIDEN
Thanks ma’am. If people like you
keep helping me spread it.. We just
might win.

Jennifer grabs Tyler.

JENNIFER
(to William)
This is my son, Tyler. He’s also
read your book many times.

William smiles at Tyler and shakes his hand.

WILLIAM AIDEN
Is that true?
TYLER
Yes it is.
WILLIAM AIDEN
Great to hear. We need more of us
out there.
LATER
Things have quieted down as Maxwell talks with William.
Alexander, Brayden, Jennifer and Tyler remain. The body
guards keep a close watch on William. On both sides of
William are two suitcases. Maxwell motions to Jennifer as
she comes over.
MAXWELL
(to Jennifer)
You have that extra room, right?
JENNIFER
Yes.

Maxwell motions toward Brayden..

MAXWELL
(to Jennifer)
I’m gonna give Brayden here our
room, so how about we let Mr. Aiden
stay with you?
She’s taken aback.
JENNIFER
It’d be my honor.
Maxwell pulls Alexander over to William.
MAXWELL
(to William)
This guy here is my son, Alexander.
William becomes very serious as he shakes Alexander’s hand
and sighs. Looking Alexander in the eyes, he places both
hands on his shoulders.

WILLIAM AIDEN

Son, I want you to know how much
what you’re doing is appreciated.

ALEXANDER
(beat)
I’ll do all I can to help.
Tyler picks up William’s luggage and walks him toward
Jennifer’s hut as Alexander watches him walk away. Maxwell
pats Alexander on the shoulder and turns toward Brayden.
MAXWELL
Brayden, come with me. I’ll show
you where you can sleep.

28 INT. JENNIFER AND TYLER’S HUT - MORNING

Jennifer tends to the fireplace as it heats a cast iron
skillet with bacon and eggs cooking. Tyler enters the room,
licking his lips as the smell fills the air.
TYLER
Is that real bacon?
JENNIFER
Yeah, Maxwell gave it to me.
Special occasion.
TYLER
Should I wake him?

William enters the room.

WILLIAM AIDEN
(to Jennifer)
Smells wonderful.

Tyler and Jennifer simultaneously turn toward William.

TYLER JENNIFER
Good mornin’. Good morning.
36.

29 INT. MAXWELL’S HUT, KITCHEN - MORNING

Maxwell, Brayden and Alexander hold hands as Maxwell leads
them in a prayer before they eat breakfast. Maxwell’s Bible
is next to his plate, open.

MAXWELL
Amen.
They start eating.

MAXWELL (CONT’D)
(to Brayden)
So tell me Brayden, were your folks
Christian?
Brayden glances at the open Bible.

BRAYDEN
(to Maxwell)
They were good people... but not
very... religious.

MAXWELL
(long beat)
How’d you get that mark?
Alexander burns a stare at Maxwell, but Maxwell doesn’t
relent. Brayden looks at them, trying to decide weather to
spill the beans.
BRAYDEN
I went to join the CPF.

He has their full attention.

BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
This was after my real mother had
died. I had nothing and was scared.
Thought the CPF would give me
something to belong to, you know
those posters they used to display?
Alexander nods.
BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
I went down to the recruitment
center and there I was filling out
this form. And on it was the
question - Are you homosexual?
Well, my mother had always taught
me it was nothing to be ashamed of.
I never told her anything, she knew

before I did. Just the way it was.
I was 13, so I naively thought they
honestly wanted to know. As if they
were gonna make things more
comfortable for me?
Brayden laughs as Alexander grins. Maxwell looks at
Alexander with a stern face.
BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
Obviously the application didn’t go
over too well. Afterward they
brought in 3 big guys and they held
my head down, while one burnt this
on my face. They said it was done
because homosexuals were a greater
risk to get diseases, which raised
the costs for everyone else. The
mark was done so we couldn’t get
medical care. Then shortly
thereafter that’s when Charlie and
Susanna found me. They didn’t have
a problem with it.
Brayden sighs as if he’s glad to get that off his chest.
MAXWELL
(to Brayden)
While I think to be that - that way
is wrong, the CPF is wrong to mark
people. You were lucky they didn’t
do worse. I’ve heard of such
things.

Maxwell rudely slides his plate forward and exits the room.
BRAYDEN
(to Alexander)
Why did he ask?

ALEXANDER
Not sure.

30 INT. JENNIFER’S KITCHEN TABLE - MORNING

William, Tyler and Jennifer sit with 3 empty plates in front
of them.
TYLER
Do you know how long it’ll take to
end the CPF?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 38.

WILLIAM AIDEN
It’ll be the first thing I do. But,
listen. Chances are I will not win.
The Government will do everything
in it’s increasingly corrupt and
tyrannical power to stop us.
JENNIFER
(to William)
I know what you mean, a few months
ago in town I saw a man on a box
giving a speech. He was speaking
about how the Government is our
friend and doing all of this on our
behalf. It made me so angry - if he
only knew!

William smiles at Jennifer and shakes his head as if he

knows..
WILLIAM AIDEN
Undoubtedly the CPF paid him to do
that.. But that’s just the tip of
the sword. The only reason they’re
having this election is because of
increasing resistance. The people
have had it.
Tyler looks like he’s gearing up to say something important
but stops short.
WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)
(to Tyler)
What is it son?

Tyler looks at Jennifer.

TYLER
I can give you a reading.

Jennifer looks at Tyler with angry eyes, but he ignores her.

William sees her anger and develops a slight smile.
WILLIAM AIDEN
You can do that?

TYLER
Yes.. Even if SOME people don’t
like it.
Jennifer looks at William apologetically.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 39.

JENNIFER
I’m sorry, William..
WILLIAM AIDEN
Nothing to be ashamed of. It’s
amazing what each of us can be when
we’re allowed to live freely.
William winks at Jennifer and places his hand before Tyler.
WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)
(to Tyler)
Go for it.
Tyler excitedly takes his hand and closes his eyes. Now,
even Jennifer is interested to see what he comes up with.

TYLER
Dan - iels? Who’s Daniels?
William, eyes now big pulls his hand away from Tyler which
surprises him.

WILLIAM AIDEN
Okay, I think that’s enough.
William gets up and begins to exit the room and stops short.
He turns toward Tyler.

WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)

By the way, I will be introducing
my running mate in the coming
weeks.
Jennifer is excited.

JENNIFER
Oh, how wonderful.
WILLIAM AIDEN
Yes. His name is Chris... Daniels.
William exits the room, while Tyler sits back with a happy
accomplished look on his face. Jennifer nudges Tyler.
JENNIFER
(to Tyler)
Oh hush.
40.

31 INT. LIBERTY DANCE HALL - NIGHT

A large barn is packed with ALL the people of Liberty
standing as William strolls out on the stage to great
applause. Several people have United States flags and the
Tree Of Liberty flags in yellow.

WILLIAM AIDEN
Thank you.. I tell yah.. Who knew
terrorists could love freedom so
much, huh!?

The crowd laughs and applauds.

WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)
It’s funny, but I also think it’s a
great lesson for us. The Government
is now in a position of protecting
us, by destroying our liberties,
rather than protecting us by
defending them.
Cheers go up.

WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)

The Constitution was written, not
to limit the power of the people.
It was written to limit the power
of the Government. They say we’re
to accept all of this - to give up
all these freedoms, and for what?
Because some terrorists might
attack us. Well, my friends,
without Liberty I’m afraid there’s
not much else to defend. Whatever
the terrorists came here to
destroy, was destroyed long ago.
The crowd cheers and applauds.

WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)

What is it they’re protecting?
They’re protecting their power,
their tyranny. So, now our path is
clear. No more unnecessary wars! No
more Civilian Police Force!

The crowd roars.

WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)
Restoration of each and everyone of
our God-given liberties! And,
perhaps most importantly - a return

These are the only things which

back the hand of tyranny forever!
William steps back, as the applause and cheering fill the
barn.

32 INT. LIBERTY DANCE HALL - LATER

Dance music plays from a modern stereo. The barn now has a
few wooden chairs circled around the middle of the barn
where some dance. Others stand and talk. William Aiden
stands, talking to some of the townsfolk while Jennifer sits
trying not to stare at him. He takes notice and offers his
hand to her.
WILLIAM AIDEN
Jennifer, would you like to dance?

Her face lights up as she takes his hand. From the other
side of the room, Tyler see’s him taking her hand and grins.

33 EXT. LIBERTY LAKE - SAME

Alexander sits staring at the lake as the shadow of the moon

glistens off it’s calm surface. He’s sitting with his hands
flat on his knee’s and his head resting on his hands. He’s
wearing a thin coat over his shirt and wearing pants.

Brayden sits next to Alexander as Alexander stretches his

legs out and leans back noticing Brayden. Brayden sits
Indian style and is shivering.
BRAYDEN
You alright?
Alexander laughs.
BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
What?

ALEXANDER
Everyone asks me that. Never could
hide things very well.
BRAYDEN
Sorry. You’re the only one I really
know. They’re all in there having
fun, except you.

Yeah..
Alexander notices Brayden is cold, so he takes his coat off.
ALEXANDER (CONT’D)

They stare into each others eyes as Alexander gently places
his coat around Brayden’s shoulders.

BRAYDEN
Thanks.
Alexander moves a little closer to Brayden as they watch the
lake.

BRAYDEN (CONT’D)
(long beat)
Does your father know?
Alexander turns toward Brayden and considers how to answer.

ALEXANDER
Well, I told him years ago, but I’m
still not sure he knows.
Brayden touches the mark on his face.

BRAYDEN
(beat)
I never would have told him how I
got this, if I’d known...

Alexander caresses Brayden’s mark.

ALEXANDER
(sighs)
In some ways you’re lucky to have
it.

34 EXT. GRASSY FIELD IN LIBERTY - NIGHT

Tyler rides horseback with Aisha behind him. They come to a
grassy field and get off.

AISHA
My mother would kill me if she knew
I was with you. Not to mention
Samuel.

AISHA
He doesn’t care so much.

Tyler grins.
TYLER

Tyler sits down with his back to a tree and raises his arm
and offers his hand to Aisha. She gives her hand as he
lowers her slowly to the ground. She sits in front of him
and leans back on his chest as he embraces her.
TYLER (CONT’D)
(whispers)
Your so beautiful.
Aisha gets up, conflicted.
AISHA
I can’t do this.
Tyler stands up and moves closer to Aisha, as they hold
hands.
TYLER
(sighs)
He doesn’t deserve you.
Tyler caresses her face as she looks down somberly.
AISHA
I’m sorry, but I must go back.

35 INT. LIBERTY DANCE HALL - NIGHT

Jennifer and William dance slowly around the hall.

Maxwell told me he was gonna build

WILLIAM AIDEN
What happens then?
JENNIFER
I don’t know.. But hopefully you

worries will be gone.

William grins.
WILLIAM AIDEN
To tell you the truth, I’m a little
daunted that we’ve gotten this far.
I only ran to strike a cord.. But
it looks like we’re doing more than
that.
Jennifer looks incredulous.

JENNIFER
Everyone’s desperate for freedom,
William. Don’t doubt yourself for a
minute.

36 EXT. LIBERTY COURTYARD - MORNING

William Aiden stands by his vehicle while his assistants
load the car. Maxwell and Jennifer are there to see him off.
Jennifer is sad. William and Maxwell shake hands.

WILLIAM AIDEN
Maxwell, keep doing what your doing
and if I can, I’m going to try and
get you guys help.

William comes to Jennifer and they embrace. She has some

tears in her eyes.
WILLIAM AIDEN (CONT’D)
I’ll be back as soon as I can,
hopefully with good news.

William gets in the car as the gates of Liberty open. The

car speeds away as Jennifer watches sadly.

37 EXT. LIBERTY STABLES - LATER

Brayden is in the stables cleaning a horse as Maxwell walks

MAXWELL
Brayden, come with me.
Maxwell walks Brayden out of the stables and into the..

All the warriors of Liberty are there. Brayden joins them.
MAXWELL
Brayden, I brought you here because
we’re going to do something to
respond to the CPF.
Brayden looks at Maxwell with vengeful eyes.
BRAYDEN
Good. What are you gonna do?
Alexander speaks up.
ALEXANDER
(to Maxwell)
Yeah, good question.
Maxwell grins ear to ear.
MAXWELL
I have an idea.

39 INT. TEXAS TAVERN - NIGHT

The Tavern is busy. A large table seats about 10 CPF
members, drinking beer and laughing.

The door opens as Ziyad walks in with his head held down. He
positions himself at the bar facing the CPF. After a few
seconds the bar becomes very quiet as one of the CPF agents
stand up looking straight at Ziyad and the mark on his face.

Ziyad walks fast toward the door and exits as the entire CPF
follows him.
46.

40 EXT. TEXAS TAVERN - SAME

Ziyad continues to walk fast away from the Tavern as the CPF
men are right behind him.
CPF MEN
You there! Stop!
From the sides and behind the CPF come Liberty’s finest.
Alexander and Maxwell close in on the sides, Tyler, Aisha
and Misha from behind. All with swords drawn, making the CPF
freeze in it’s spot.
MAXWELL
(to Ziyad)
Good job.

One of the CPF agents tries to pull out his sword - Maxwell
is forced to take him out with two sword swipes as the man
falls to the ground.
MAXWELL (CONT’D)
(to the CPF)
Don’t move and nobody else will
die!

41 EXT. OUTSIDE LOCAL CIVILIAN POLICE FORCE - MORNING

The sun is just rising. Just outside the Civilian Police

Force building is a wagon with the 9 CPF agents tied up
sitting in it. Routine citizens stroll on by, laughing at
the CPF men who are gagged and marked.
Luke Darion arrives on horseback and notices the men. His
face tightens as he gets off the horse and approaches the
men. He grabs one of their faces and turns it to see the
letter T on his face. Everyone of them, marked with the
letter T.

A crowd has developed to see the spectacle. The crowd

giggles and murmurs.
LUKE DARION
(to the crowd)
Shut up!

MAXWELL
Oh I don’t wanna hear that, it’s

ALEXANDER
I’m sorry father, but I am! I am

these years of fighting won’t
change that!

Alexander turns to exit the kitchen.

MAXWELL
Might be best if you two left
Liberty, then...

Alexander stops and turns toward Maxwell in disbelief, eyes

now filled with tears. Maxwell is unable to look Alexander
in the eyes.
ALEXANDER

watching them. She turns toward the destroyed gates of
Liberty to see a group of about 5 black vehicles pulling
into Liberty.

She quickly walks up to the car and stops, waiting to see

who it is. The doors open and William steps out of the back
of the first car. They make eye contact as she runs to him
and they embrace.
WILLIAM AIDEN
What happened?
Jennifer begins to cry.
JENNIFER
They tried to destroy Liberty, but
somehow we made it.. I’m afraid we
we lost Alexander.
William looks like he’s been punched in the gut.
WILLIAM AIDEN
I’m sorry. How’s your son?
JENNIFER
He’s good. Thank God.
Tyler and Aisha come up to Jennifer and William. Aisha with
her arms around Tyler’s body.
WILLIAM AIDEN
Jennifer, I don’t have a lot of
time. Now that we’ve won.. I was
wondering if you’d come with me?
JENNIFER
Of course, but.. what about Tyler?
William notices how close Aisha and Tyler are.

WILLIAM AIDEN
(grins)
Looks like he’ll be fine.
Luke joins Tyler and Aisha.

LUKE DARION
(to Jennifer)
Go with him Jen, I got this. We’re
gonna stay here and rebuild
Liberty. Least I can do.

Jennifer thinks about it and then looks William in the eyes.

JENNIFER
I’m coming with you, Mr. President.

84 EXT. LIBERTY LAKE SHORE - MORNING

Fog lifts off the lake as Brayden sits in a tent, in
mourning. His eyes are gray and he’s downcast. The sound
of someone approaching causes him to exit the tent. Brayden
and Maxwell make eye contact.
BRAYDEN
I can’t believe he’s gone.
MAXWELL
(beat)
Yes, I know.
An awkward moment of silence passes.
MAXWELL
The things I said to him hurt now,
more than ever. But I’ll deal with
that later. I just want you to
know - you’re welcome here
anytime. Alexander.. He.. cared
for you.. and, I guess that’s what
matters. We’re gonna need help
rebuilding and... I hope you’ll
stay.
BRAYDEN
I’d like that.
MAXWELL
Tell you what. I’ll teach you how
to use a sword, if you can teach me
how to sing. Deal?

Brayden forces a smile and laughs.

BRAYDEN
Deal.

CONTINUED: 73.

MAXWELL
Did you hear the good news?
BRAYDEN
No.

MAXWELL
Aiden won.
A little excitement bubbles to the surface of Brayden’s face
but quickly fades.

85 EXT. ALEXANDER’S MONUMENT - DAY

A giant monument built in honor of Alexander sits with
people visiting it in Washington D.C. Alexander stands with
a sword in one hand and the American flag in the other.
VOICE OVER
As the story of Liberty and
Alexander’s death spread across the
country, A monument was erected in
his honor.
A burnt, golden map of America displays. As the voice over
continues the map becomes clean from the center outward
until it’s a beautiful and whole map of America.

VOICE OVER
The American people slowly began to
rebuild. President Aiden quickly
disbanded the Civilian Police Force
and restored all civil liberties he
could. Over time he worked to
bring troops home from around the
world, shrink government, reduce
debt significantly and allowed gold
and silver to be used as
money. Life in America wasn’t
perfect but at least there was hope
for tomorrow.
FADE OUT.
