STRANGERS IN THE DARK
Story and Screenplay By
Ivo Byrt
A LOVE STORY between two unknown outcasts: A fourteen
bullied and abused boy, and a girl his age, who's something
more than meets the eye
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is the author's intention that this film

will be presented in Black-And-White, but the main details
like RED, will be presented in RED. Like a Sin City effect.
He who seeks what he should not, knows what he does not

want.

BLACK SCREEN.
MARCO: (V.O)
I mean, we all have this crazy dreams, right?? We
all so. Mine……Well, I think mine was different from
all the others’ dreams. My dream was about a boy who
fell in love with a beautiful angel, but it turned
out that the beautiful angel was actually a monster.
But……he still loved her anyway. Despite all changes
on her. He still loved her.
TITLE CARD: "The scariest monsters are the ones that lurk
within our souls..." ~ Edgar Allan Poe.
INSERT:
WINDOW - DAY
We see a construction site, through a window. We start to

back up slowly. We’re inside of an……
INT – APARTMENT – A MONTH AGO
Title Card: SEPTEMBER
We slowly start to backup, and we stop and see a family

photo: We see a father, a mother, and the two kids, one
was Little, the other, big. Then, an unseen adult figure
approaches and grabs the picture.
INT – ROOM
Innaudible, we see the unseen adult figure packing up.

INT - ANOTHER ROOM
We see two Young, also unseen, figures. One is older, the

other, younger. They’re also packing up. They’re probably
moving. The younger figure is wearing blue jeans and a red
sweater. He always does.
As the older unseen figure leaves the room, the younger

figure, with a bag full of stuff, looks back at the
room, we see his eye only: A Brown eye. It’s a boy.
He looks at the room, probably for one last time.
Then, he closes the door.
INT – MAIN ROOM
The three unseen figures close the door, leaving the

apartment. We slowly turn and slowly approach to the
apartment.
INT – ANOTHER ROOM
From the window, we see the three unseen figures, putting

their packages on a car. They all get in. The adult
figure drives. The car drives away.
As they leave, we start to slowly back up, and we start

checking the same room in which the younger figure left.
A CUT:

Then, we see a Wall, like those walls where kids write
their moments in there.
We slowly go up, we see written moments like: I GOT MY

FIRST TOOTH OFF, 2005 / WE WENT TO THE ZOO, 2007 /
Various messages on the Wall, until we finally come to

the last one, and we stop and look at it:
SEPTEMBER 19, 2017: WE’RE MOVING OUT
CUT TO:
INT – ROAD
We see the car driving away, in a road far away from the
apartment.
INT - CAR
The younger figure, with earphones on his ears, looks at

the window.
CUT TO:
EXT – GAS STATION – LATER THAT DAY
We see a Little Windmill, blowing so much wind. We go

down and we realice now we’re on a gas station.
INT – GAS STATION STORE – CONTINUOUS

The same unseen younger figure, the boy, is getting
snacks for the trip. He goes to the line. Then, the
younger figure turns and sees an adult looking at him.
The adult is a man, and he’s holding a news paper they
were selling on the station store. They both stare at
each other.
CASHIER: (O.S)
Next!
The younger figure looks front and advances to the cashier

with the snacks he’s about to buy.
CUT TO:
INT – TOWN – NIGHT
We see the car, slowly advancing through a town. We see a

sign:
WELCOME TO QUISCO
INT – NEIGHBORHOOD
The car slowly pulls over to A RED HOUSE, looks like a

shack.
EXT – HOUSE IN FRONT
We see a shadowing figure, staring with orange eyes, how

the three unseen figures start unpacking, and taking the
packages to the house.

EXT – RED SHACK
The younger unseen figure looks at the house in front,

and sees nobody in the curtain. He looks back at the red
shack and goes inside.
SMASH TO BLACK:
SMASH TO:
INT - TOWN – NIGHT
Night approached. The town was empty. It was 10 PM. It was

the slaughtering time. Why? Every night, at 10 PM, people
in the town got slaughtered by someone………or something.
QUISCO,
A quiet, small, and "peaceful" American-Chilean town,
located in Chile. Population??? Not much to count. With
cabins, shacks, houses, stores, restaurants, and a FOREST.
A creepy looking forest, like one of those that you see in
the movies.
Now that we've met the town, it's time to get inside the
story we're about to see:
It's night. We’re focusing on the night sky, then w ego

down, and see angles of the town. And the wind and
SILENCE are tormenting the empty streets. We hear
nothing. THEN.....
EXT - BAR - CONTINUOUS

Out of the town's BAR, we see a drunk man, Benny
(30something), shaggy hair, a slacker, being kicked out of
the place. He's holding an empty beer glass bottle in his
hand. As he's kicked out, the doors shut.
BENNY
Come on, just one more drink. I swear
nothing will happen.
SILENCE.
BENNY
Oh, c'mon, I'm not even THAT DRUNK.

Doors lock on him.
Benny then scoffs and walks drunk.
He still walks.
Then, he walks into
INT - ALLEY - CONTINUOUS
He still walks drunk. Benny has never been like this in his
entire life. As he still walks....
WHOOPS!!! He falls to a puddle of water. His face lands on
the wasted rain puddle.
As he stands up, his face full covered in water, he still

walks. He starts to get better from his drunk state.
As he sees the bottle in his hands, he THROWS IT AWAY. IT
BREAKS OFF SCREEN. He still walks into THE ALLEY.
BENNY:
Trash. This whole world is a puddle
of pure trash and shit.
As he still walks, wind approaches to the alley.
EXT - HOUSE - CLOSE TO ALLEY - CONTINUOUS
A dog does out of a house in the dog's door. The dog sees
the ALLEY. The dog starts to bark out loud.
INT - ALLEY - CONTINUOUS Benny
hears the dog's barking. He

looks back and...
He starts mocking the dog's barking. He barks out loud too.

As he looks front, sick of this, and the dog still barks.
EXT – HOUSE
The dog turns from barking out loud to whimpering.

Something is not good.
BACK TO:
INT – ALLEY
Benny stops barking.
As he keeps walking, he sees an unexpected thing.
He sees a girl, sitting on the alley. Crying on her knees.

But, what's she doing there at the time of the night???
BENNY:
(stuttering)
Hello???
THE GIRL turns to Benny.
She is Brown skinned, she has black

shaggy hair, Brown eyes, she’s
wearing blue jeans, and a black
hoodie. And black shoes.
BENNY approaches to THE GIRL.

BENNY gets down to her. He's on his knees. Isn't he still
drunk???
BENNY:
Hey there. What're you doing here???
GIRL:
I accidentally fell and broke my leg.
My parents didn't even came back for me.
BENNY:
Let me see your leg.
She shows it to him. It looks broken.

BENNY:
Jesus.
GIRL:
Oops, right???
Benny looks worried.
GIRL:
Would you help me??.....Pleeeeeease???
BENNY:
Yeah, sure.
(silence)
Uhh, do you want me to carry you???
GIRL:
Mhmm.
BENNY:
Do you know the address???
GIRL:
Yes. But, if they're not home, you
can carry me to a hospital. I can't
walk.
Benny looks around. Nobody is watching him.
Benny looks back to THE GIRL.
BENNY:
Alright, I'll be careful. Here WE go.
As Benny carefully carries THE GIRL...
GIRL:
OW!!! OW!!! Careful.
BENNY:
I will. Don't worry.
As Benny sighs, THE GIRL'S head is on Benny's shoulder. But
something is wrong with her: HER EYES TURN FROM BROWN TO
ORANGE. Her eyes are wide open.
BENNY:
Alright. So, you guide my
way, k???
SILENCE.
Benny walks out of the ALLEY.
BENNY:
Ok.
(Then)
You don't weight a
thing.
(sighs)
You know, this has become in the
weirdest night of my life. You know
why??? First I got kicked of my bar
permanently, and now I found you
lying here....
Then, THE GIRL DROPS A MONSTROUS GROWL, SHE OPENS HER MOUTH,
REVEALING BIG SHARP POINTED TEETH
Then...
THE GIRL BITES BENNY'S SHOULDER WITH HER SHARP TEETH
As the dog keeps barking, we hear Benny screaming out loud,

off screen. The dog stops barking.
EXT - ALLEY - CONTINUOUS
As we're approaching to the alley, we hear Benny being

attacked by something. We also hear the GIRL grunting
strongly. THEN....
On the edge of the alley, WE SEE A BLOODIED HAND

GRABBING THE EDGE OF THE EXIT. Then, it slowly diez
at it rests on the ground, and the hand is pulled
back inside the alley.

As the dog watches, he whimpers.
INT - ALLEY - CONTINUOUS
We see the girl feeding on Benny's rests.

As we focus on the ground, we stop and see one note, a bit

bloody covered white note with a message on it:
"I'm sorry Marco"
CUT TO BLACK.
TITLE IN RED:

(A LOVE STORY)
TITLE FADE AWAY.
SMASH TO:
INT - MARCO'S ROOM - 6:58 AM - DAYS EARLIER
Waking up from a nightmare, MARCO, brown hair, brown eyes, a

bullied and abused boy. Isn't HE THE BOY in the bloodied
paper note??? Isn’t the kid from the beginning? He looks
front.
TITLE CARD: OCTOBER
Then, he sighs and looks up. To the ceiling.
He looks melancholic.
He's depressed and sick of the everyday routine.

He wears a short white shirt as an every night pyjama. And
boxers. We don't see the boxers. Marco is not your typical
emo teen.
Then, he stands up. He hears his neighbors complaining and

arguing. He stands up and he picks up from his drawer: A
CAMERA. He starts recording the next:
ON CAMERA'S VIEW - we see two people: THE NEIGHBOR, thirty

something, and THE NEIGHBOR'S WIFE, also thirty something.
They're arguing.
OFF CAMERA'S VIEW - Marco is watching, reflective and

melancholic.
ON CAMERA'S VIEW - then, we see something UNEXPECTED, THE

NEIGHBOR SLAPS THE HELL OUTTA HIS WIFE. SHE FALLS TO THE
GROUND, HURT.
Then, THE NEIGHBOR LOOKS AT THE CAMERA.
OFF CAMERA'S VIEW - Marco closes the curtains and turns the
camera off. He hides in the wall. After three seconds of
pure suspense....
He opens the curtains, and we see THE NEIGHBOR, closing HIS

curtains and shutting off the lights. Marco keeps the
camera on the drawer.
CUT TO:
INT - DINNING ROOM - MORNING - LATER

Marco approaches, all dressed up, with random clothes. He
has a backpack on his back.
He's wearing black shoes, blue pants, a red sweater with a

shirt inside. He's a scholar boy.
He approaches to the DINNING ROOM, where there are two
people: THE FATHER, a fourty something adult, who works as
the town's chief. Always resolving crimes. He wears
glasses.
And, THE BROTHER, a twenty-three abusive man. He smokes,

gets drugged and drinks. He's the older brother. They're
having breakfast. THE BROTHER has a Little mustache he
doesn’t want to shave.
THE FATHER:
(to Marco)
Good morning. Take a seat. I made
your favorite breakfast.
Marco puts the backpack on the back of his seat.
He sits down. He looks at the breakfast: Crispy

bacon with Strawberry sauced waffles.
Marco just sighs and looks at it.
He plays with his food with the fork.
THE FATHER notices his state.
THE FATHER: (CONT'D)

'Re you ok, son???
MARCO:
What??? Yeah, I'm fine. I'm
just....tired.
THE FATHER:
Tired???
MARCO:
I just can't sleep good.
THE BROTHER:
Yeah, he can't. Maybe it's because he
spend the entire night stretching his
wang.
THE FATHER: Alright,

stop it. That's not funny.
Do not mock your brother on the
table, understood???
THE BROTHER:
(sighs)
Yes...
THE FATHER:
Yes what???
THE BROTHER:
(sighs again)
Yes, DAD.
THE FATHER:
Thank you.
The father turns back to Marco, still tired.

THE FATHER: (CONT'D) You
know what, bud??? Let's save it.
(stands up and picks up Marco's
breakfast)
Let's just save it to another time of
the day, when you're hungry.
He puts the breakfast on the kitchen.
He approaches back to the BROTHERS.


I actually forgot to tell you guys. I
got a long day at work so I
probably....
MARCO:
Get home in a late hour???
THE FATHER:
Exactly. The father
picks up his briefcase.

Ok. So I need to go right now. See
you guys later.
THE FATHER leaves the house.
THEN, Marco stands up and grabs his backpack. And

before he goes to the entrance....
THE BROTHER:
Where are you rushing up to??? Marco
closes his eyes and turns to THE BROTHER.
MARCO:
I'm going to school.
THE BROTHER: Why do you
need to go to school??? You know
you can be homeschooled.
MARCO:
You know I never learn in here.
THE BROTHER: Yes, you do.
Don't lie to me, Marco. Like the
way you always do.
MARCO:
(tired of this situation)
Can I go now???
THE BROTHER:
You forgot something???
A beat.
MARCO:
Goodbye, brother???
SILENCE.
MARCO: (CONT'D)
Whatever.
Marco opens the door and leaves. The

brother watches.
THE BROTHER:
Have a great day!!!
CUT TO:
EXT - THE RED SHACK - CONTINUOUS Out of Marco's house, a

red, second-floor-less red shack.
Marco is walking out THE RED SHACK.
He's walking through his little NEIGHBORHOOD.
We're following him.
He's HOLDING the two edges of his backpack. SMASH TO:
INT - STREETS - LATER
Marco walks on the crowd filled streets of Quisco.
The day is cloudy. He keeps walking.
SMASH TO:
EXT - SCHOOL - LATER
As MARCO walks to his school, he enters.

We see tons of school kids wearing random clothes like
Marco, entering too.
The school bell rings.
CUT TO:
INT - CLASSROOM - LATER
We're behind Marco. We're inside of a classroom full of kids

Marco's age and some are not of his age. He's sitting on a
chair, with his desk.
The TEACHER, thirty-seven, is sitting on his chair of his
desk.
THE TEACHER:
--others like Lucila Godoy, also
known in this days as Gabriela
Mistral, one of Chile's most
recognized and famous artists. There
are others like her: Pablo Neruda,
Violeta Parra, Nicanol Parra, between
many others I would like you to
investigate. You can Google them.
It's not too late to do it.
(silence)
Speaking of Mrs. Mistral, have you
guys brought your favorite poetry
like I asked you yesterday???
Nobody raises their hands.
THE TEACHER: (CONT'D)

Anyone??? A student, Carlos, Fourteen, raises
his hand.
Yes, Carlos???
CARLOS:
Can I go to the bathroom???
THE TEACHER:
(Sighs)
Ok. Go ahead. Don't be much there
though.
Carlos goes to the bathroom, exiting the classroom.

Anyone here instead of Carlos wants
to share poetry with us???
Then, Marco raises his hand.
The TEACHER notices him. Catches him right on time.

Ah, Marco???? Favorite poetry???
Marco nods.
Alright. Step up right here.
Marco gets up from his chair. He walks with a piece of paper

with poetry.
Marco steps right in front of his class. He clears his

throat. He looks at the piece of paper.
MARCO:
(reading title)
"Ashes of Desire" by Christy Ann
Martine.
(reading)
On the coldest nights I'll look for
your glow among the burning embers of
your fiery soul. I'll sift---
Then, as Marco continues his poetry, someone makes a noisy

fart noise. We see who did it:
GUILLERMO, fifteen, Marco's bully. His two other bullies,
Franco, thirteen, and Javier, fourteen, laugh with
GUILLERMO.
The boy sitting next to GUILLERMO, his brother, CRISTOBAL,

also fifteen. He doesn't tolerate his brother's stuff.
CRISTOBAL:
Guys, cut it out!!!
THE TEACHER notices. He's angry.
THE TEACHER:
Alright, GUILLERMO, to the
principal's office. Wait me there.
Go.
GUILLERMO:
I didn't even do anything!!!
THE TEACHER:
Now, or you're suspended!!!
GUILLERMO, out of a huge anger inside of him, hits the
table. His sometimes-girlfriend Andrea, also fourteen, hits
him in the arm.
Then, MARCO GIGGLES. IT LOOKS LIKE HE NEVER ACTUALLY DID IT.

HE CAN'T STOP. It’s so sweet watching him giggling.
But, GUILLERMO notices him. He's angry. Marco stops
giggling. He looks worried.

Now!!!
GUILLERMO stands up roughly and goes to the entrance.
As he closes the door with furious anger....

Alright, kids. I won't be long.
So.....just wait in silence. I don't
want a frenzy when I come back.
The teacher walks to the entrance.
Marco sits back. He looks worried again.
THE RING BELL RINGS OFF SCREEN.
SMASH TO:
INT - HALLWAY - 1 PM
It's that time of the day when all kids go out of school.
Everyday, they go out at 1 PM.
As we're on a school hallway, we're following MARCO as he's
walking through the hallway.
There are various kids in the hallway. Playing and some

arguing. He's walking to THE BATHROOM. As he opens the
door....
INT – BATHROOM
...we see Marco entering. He closes the door.
He checks on every part of it. It's empty.
MARCO:
(to himself)
Empty. Good. As he walks to a WC room, he locks
himself there.
He pees. He lefts his backpack on the ground.
He just concentrates.
Then, he hears people entering the bathroom.
He looks back.
Then, he looks front.

ANGLE ON THE BACKPACK - As we're slowly approaching to the
backpack, we see a familiar hand grabbing it.
As MARCO realizes, he unlocks himself out of the WC room,
only to see GUILLERMO, JAVIER AND FRANCO playing with
Marco's backpack.
MARCO: (CONT'D)
Give it back!!!
As they're tossing it to each other, Marco tries to grab it,

but he can't. As GUILLERMO has it, Marco grabs it, but does
not let go.
Then, JAVIER holds him off. Marco tries to wildly let go,
but he can't.
JAVIER:
(laughs)
You fuckin weak little shit.
MARCO:
Let go off me you bastard!!! You
Bastards sons of bitches!!!! Let me
go!!! Give me back my backpack!!!
As GUILLERMO is in front of Marco, he shows Marco's

backpack.
GUILLERMO:
Oh, this backpack???
MARCO:
Give it back to me!!!
GUILLERMO:
Aww, so cute. He's trying to get his
backpack back. How fuckin cute is
THAT?!?!?!?
MARCO:
Fucking give it back to me!!!
As son as Marco approaches to his backpack, held by

Guillermo, GUILLERMO punches Marco in the gut so
violently.
He grunts in pain.
As MARCO is thrown in the ground, WEAK, the three bullies

kick and punch on him violently. He can't stand up. As
they keep doing it.... CRISTOBAL enters.
CRISTOBAL:
GUYS!!!!
They all stop.
CRISTOBAL: (CONT'D)
We need to go. Let's GO. They all stand
up.
GUILLERMO:
Come on. Let's leave the little weak
shit in here.
As he's about to leave, he realizes he still has Marco's

backpack.
GUILLERMO: (CONT'D)
Oh, almost forgot.
GUILLERMO violently throws Marco's backpack in Marco's back.
GUILLERMO: (CONT'D)
YOUR BACKPACK!!! Almost forgot. Now,
are you happy??? Let's go guys.
FRANCO:
Fuckin loser.
JAVIER:
Fuckin rat boy.
As THE THREE BULLIES leave, CRISTOBAL stays. He looks at
Marco.
CRISTOBAL:
Can I help you???
MARCO:
(hurt)
I'm fine.
CRISTOBAL:
You sure???
MARCO:
Just go with your brother and leave
me alone, ok??? I have bigger deals
than yours.
CRISTOBAL, worried, leaves, but before doing it, he turns
back to Marco.
CRISTOBAL:
Trust me. That's not true. You don't.
He leaves.
Marco is just thrown in there. Hurt.
CUT TO:
INT - CHIEF'S OFFICE - LATER
THE FATHER, on his office, sitting on his chair, his face

looks at the desk. Then, a police officer, SIMON, on his
thirties, enters.
SIMON:
Chief.
THE FATHER:
Simon.
SIMON:
We've got news.
THE FATHER:
Sit.
Simon seats.
Tell me the news.
SIMON:
Remember Louis???
THE FATHER:
The crazy farmer???
SIMON:
Yes. Well, I guess he's not so crazy.
THE FATHER:
What is it now???
SMASH TO:
EXT - LOUIS'S FARM - LATER The father parks the police

car. He gets down with Simon. They approach to...
INT - LOUIS'S FARM Louis, an elderly man,

approaches to them.
THE FATHER:
Where are they, Lou???
LOUIS:
Ov---over here. Come with me.
Simon and THE FATHER follow LOUIS.
INT - FIELD Louis stops and points at

the field....
LOUIS:
There.
...full of DEAD COWS ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE FIELD IS

COVERED WITH SPLATTERED BLOOD
THE FATHER and SIMON are shocked.
THE FATHER:
When did it happen???
LOUIS:
I think on MIDNIGHT.
SIMON:
Well, it's hard not to make a man
SICK.
THE FATHER:
Saw anybody or ANYTHING in here
lately???
LOUIS:
NO, chief. It's weird you know. Who
could have done this??? What kind of
person or THING could do such
atrocity???
THE FATHER:
Well, as we can see, it was not a
person, but if it was a thing, IT HAS
TO BE ONE HELL OF IT.
A beat.
CUT TO:
INT - NEIGHBORHOOD - LATER Marco, tired,

walks through his neighborhood.
We hear his neighbors discussing and arguing.
He walks to HIS HOUSE.
He opens the fence of his house.
He enters to
INT - THE RED SHACK - MAIN ROOM - CONTINUOUS

As MARCO enters and closes the door, he walks his room, but
before he can even open the door....
THE BROTHER:
Why'd you took so long??? Marco turns
to THE BROTHER, sitting in a chair.
MARCO:
I couldn't take a bus cause it didn't
came. So I went walking.
(silence)
Happy???
THE BROTHER:
Not enough. But YOU can fix it. Bring
me a beer.
A beat.
MARCO:
(quietly)
No.
The brother realizes. He looks at Marco. The BROTHER is
getting angry.
THE BROTHER:
What'd you just said???
A beat.
MARCO:
(scared)
Nothing.
THE BROTHER: Oh please,
don't be such Mr. Bullshit. Now, did
I just heard NO???
MARCO:
No. The BROTHER stands
up. He approaches slowly to

Marco...
THE BROTHER: I know
when you're lying, Marco.
Don't lie to me now. You know what
happens when you lie.
Marco is getting scared. But he has his mouth closed.
THE BROTHER: (CONT'D)

And you know the consequences when
you say NO.
(silence)
Now, I'm gonna ask you, for the last
time.
(anger intensifies)
Bring me...
(slaps Marco)
A beer....
(slaps Marco again)
Please.... Marco gets scared.
Then, as Marco tries to get out, he's grabbed by THE
BROTHER, who throws Marco to the ground.
The BROTHER holds him and slaps him very hard.
MARCO:
Ahhhhh!!!! Stop!!!!
As THE BROTHER looks at a weeping Marco, THE BROTHER lets
him go and stands up, sighing in disappointment.
He goes to the kitchen and he grabs a beer from the

refrigerator. He walks back to Marco.
THE BROTHER:
Listen, I'm gonna give you ONE MORE
CHANCE. And this'll be the last one.
(SILENCE)
And when I ask YOU to bring ME a
beer, and if YOU say NO......
(SILENCE)
You know the consequences. Ok??? You
get the idea.
(walks away)
Stand up you fuckin crybaby.

Marco slowly stands up and enters into:
INT - MARCO'S ROOM
Marco drops his backpack on his bed. He throws himself to

the bed. Tired. He turns and looks up AGAIN.
He starts touching his cheek. It’s still in pain.

CUT TO:
EXT - THE RED SHACK - NIGHT

Still wearing his RED SWEATER, his blue pants and black
shoes, MARCO walks out of his house.
INTO:
INT - NEIGHBORHOOD Where

we're following him.
He's walking TO:
INT - PARK
a park close to his house. As he approaches and sits on a

swinger, he starts swinging. Then, he stops.
Then, HE HEARS FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING.
He, AND WE, turn and see A GIRL APPROACHING.
But, SHE'S THE SAME FROM THE BEGINNING. A browned skin, blue
jeans, a black hoodie. And black and a bit shaggy hair.
SHE'S THE SAME GIRL.
As soon as Marco turns to her, SHE STOPS APPROACHING AND
freezes.
MARCO:
Hello.
SILENCE.
MARCO: (CONT'D)
Uhh, what's your name???
SILENCE. She's freezing.

MARCO: (CONT'D)
What's wrong??? Can't talk???
(then)
I'm not gonna say "cat got your
tounge" cause it's stupid.
(then)
Are you mute??? Cause if you are,
sorry but I don't speak mute, unless
if you do.
SILENCE. This is getting annoying.

And then, he feels something weird behind him. He stops and
turns and realizes THE GIRL HAS BEEN FOLLOWING HIM. As soon
as he turns, she stops and freezes again.
MARCO:

SILENCE.
MARCO: (CONT'D)

He turns and walks. Then, as he keeps walking, he stops and

turns again: THE GIRL HAS BEEN FOLLOWING HIM AGAIN. She's

HUNGER - every night at 10 PM, she feels HUNGER, what's

killing her, not literally. Then, she rises her look
front again: HER EYES ARE ORANGE. It means she's
hungry.
Those are the same Orange eyes from the beginning. Then,
she looks back, noticing something:
THE NEIGHBOR, being kicked out of the house by his wife.

As the door is shut on him.....
THE NEIGHBOR:

He stops and turns back again.
THE GIRL STOPS. She's been following him again.

As he keeps walking faster, we can hear that TAMARA

Marco is looking on his window:
THE NEIGHBOR'S WIFE, shutting on lights and closing the

curtains.
Marco goes to bed and lays there. He looks up.
CUT TO:
INT - HALLWAY - 1 PM - THE NEXT DAY We
follow Marco through THE SCHOOL HALLWAY.

Then...
GUILLERMO: (O.S)

He doesn't dare to turn.
GUILLERMO: (O.S) (CONT'D)

Then, in front of him, Javier appears. Including Franco.

THE THREE BULLIES run to the exit. They click their tongues,

looking down, melancholic. The earphones of the music
player are on his ears.
Then, THE GIRL, wearing the same clothes as last night,

approaches to Marco.
He notices. He doesn't dare to look at her. He just looks

down, to the ground.
MARCO:

She sits in the swinger next to him.
THE GIRL

She notices the little music player on his hands.

Marco heard it. A GIRL never asked him about what his stuffs
are. He turns to her, and shows the music player.

This??? It's a music player. It plays

THE GIRL UNEXPECTEDLY nods.

Then, a sweet moment:
Marco puts the earphones on her ears. She listens to the

music he was listening. She enjoys it.
Marco is superb: He never actually shared his music with

Oh, it’s just this poetry they made me do to
school. It’s kinda Cheesy.
TAMARA:
Can you read it?
Marco is astounded. A girl never asked him to

read poetry to her, EVER.
He opens the poetry.
MARCO:
Sure. But, if you want, you can laugh at me.
You can be just like everyone else.
He clears his throat and starts Reading.
MARCO: (Reading)
On The Coldest Nights I’ll look for your

glow among the burning embers of your fiery

Tamara is astounded, shocked, amazed, all of

that at the same time. It looks like she never
Heard poetry in her life.
Marco realices something is terribly wrong.

MARCO:

TAMARA:

As soon as she says beautiful, she grabs the

hand that’s holding the poetry. Marco realices
and she lets go inmediatly. Then, he hands the
poetry to her.

She accepts it. She’s flattered.
Then, Marco stands up and yawns.

Alright, I'm tired. I'll see you

He walks away. To his house.
TAMARA is sitting alone on the swinger.
Then, her hunger intensifies, making more weird noises.

Her stomach hurts.

Then, she runs away, leaving the music player thrown on the

lies on his bed, looking up.
MARCO:

Then, we hear footsteps, like a person falling in his feet.

She walks around the pigs.

Her stomach sounds.

THE BROTHER watches TV (off screen), Marco, all dressed,
walks to the entrance.

The POLICE was shocked today after
encountering a barn full of

He looks at Tamara's house, confused and

Nature teacher, Mrs. Tamayo, is writing on the board, while

she’s talking.

yesterday.
He is supposed to spend that time on the classroom, but he

decides to spend it right there. As he pulls put a
cigarette, lights it on, AND SMOKES.... We hear someone
kicking the entrance door.
Marco puts the cigarette on the wall, turning off.

Marco gets scared.

He’s holding White pages with some writing on them.
He sits on the swinger next to Tamara. He presents the

pages. He’s holding them to Tamara.
MARCO:
Here. I brought you new poetry. You know, so you can read
them.
She grabs them. She is flattered.
Then, she looks back to Marco, but notices something is wrong

with him.
He still has his purple eye. Caused by Guillermo.
TAMARA:
What happened there?
As soon as she asks that, she starts pointing her finger to

his eye. Marco steps it away. Looks somewhere else.
MARCO:
(SIGHS)
I fell on the Street. Hit my eye with something.
TAMARA:
Marco.
MARCO:
Yeah?
TAMARA:

MARCO:

He notices THE BROTHER is sleeping on the couch, snoring in

a probable fake way.
Marco doesn’t care, and walks around the main room, to his
room.

------Marco freezes. He closes his eyes.
Then, the light go on, and we see THE BROTHER, woken up.
Marco, scared, turns to him.
MARCO:

Marco slowly approaches to THE BROTHER. As he approaches, THE

BROTHER notices the purple eye on Marco.

MARCO:
I fell on the Street. I hit my eye with something.
THE BROTHER:

(SILENCE; HE SMILES; MARCO DOESN’T)
Then, THE BROTHER holds on Marco’s hands.

Then, THE BROTHER notices something weird on Marco. THE

BROTHER SMELLS MARCO. He notices something is wrong.

THE BROTHER’s face is changing from happy to angry. We hear

heartbeats getting faster. Scene is intensifying.
MARCO:

THE BROTHER:

MARCO:

As THE BROTHER gets angrier, Marco tries to let go. The

heartbeats are getting faster, and faster, and faster. Scene
is beyond intensified.
Then, THE BROTHER stops getting angry, and LAUGHS

UNCONTROLLABLY.
The heartbeats stop sounding.
Marco lets go quickly.
THE BROTHER laughs uncontrollably. Possibly like a psycopath.

THE BROTHER:
Oh, Marco. I would never dare to hurt you. You know i got a
Little problem with my booze, my beer, you know. But, I can
fix that. WE can fix that. WE can fix all of this.
Marco, scared, goes to his room.
INT – MARCO’S ROOM
Marco locks himself there. He doesn’t trust his brother

anymore. He feels a great danger on him.
CUT TO:
INT – TAMARA’S ROOM – CONTINUOUS

On her room, Tamara is lying on her bed, looking at all the

poetry Marco made to her. She’s impressed and happy.
Then, on her stomach, she feels the same hunger that is

killing her.
She touches it, and feels pain again. She gets up off her
bed.
CUT TO:
INT – INVESTIGATION ROOM – THE NEXT DAY
THE FATHER, Simon, and AN INVESTIGATOR enter in a White

investigation room.
THE FATHER:
So, where are the rests?
INVESTIGATOR:
In here.
They stop. They look at a table in the middle of the room.

The table has a blue box, with a paper inside. The box has a
message on the front of it: EVIDENCE.
The investigator proceeds to open the box.
THE FATHER:
Anything else from the victim?
INVESTIGATOR:
No, this is the only thing we found from the victim.
(Then)
The victim was a guy named Roberto. He was a deer hunter, who
lived on a shack on the Woods.
He proceeds to open the paper. He is shocked, but mouth

closed.
INVESTIGATOR:
On the scene, we found the walls and the ground splattered
with blood. We found claw marks on the walls. And his shotgun
was thrown in the ground, which means he died fighting the
thing.
Then, slowly, the investigator, takes from the box – A TORN

OFF LEG. THE ONLY REST OF THE DEER HUNTER.
INVESTIGATOR:
This is what was left at the scene.
THE FATHER and SIMON are way beyond shocked.
THE FATHER:
Jesus, Mary and Joseph……
INVESTIGATOR:
And, worst of all, it keeps happening. On the town, people
won’t stop getting missing.
SIMON:
Well, gentlemen, my theories are that it could’ve been a
grizzli bear, a killer, or possibly, Freddy Krueger.
THE FATHER:

don’t have grizzly bears, or wild animals. It’s a small town.

He walks to the window.
THE FATHER:
All of this. It brings us here. It was not something, Simon.
It was someone. Whatever is happening, it’s spreading from
this town. Last week, we had 5 killings in a week. 5!! Isn’t

Well, then, Chief, what’re we gonna do? If we don’t do
something right now, more people will be found dead. Imagine

The Father turns, kinda angry.

All students, reunited on the classroom, sitting on their

chairs, are looking front. Some of them, are writing on their
notebooks. Mrs. Tamayo, Nature teacher, is writing on the
white board. We don’t see her face, we’re focusing on Marco,
writing on his notebook.
MRS. TAMAYO: (O.S)

Then, someone knocks on the door.

MRS. TAMAYO: (O.S)

No, it’s ok.
THE TEACHER:
Good, Uhhh. Mrs. Tamayo, can Guillermo come out of the
classroom for only two seconds?
MRS. TAMAYO: (O.S)

Sure, he’s all yours.
THE TEACHER:
Thanks, Guillermo, stand up.
Guillermo stands up. He approaches to THE TEACHER.
GUILLERMO:

THE TEACHER:

Guillermo exits the classroom. THE TEACHER does it too.

Marco stands up and walks to the door.

Marco doesn’t care. He opens and closes the door.

Marco walks faster inside the school hallway.
Then, he suddenly hides in a wall. He watches:
In the school playground, Guillermo and THE TEACHER walk.

They stop as they see Guillermo’s father: GUILLERMO’S FATHER,
who looks unhappy.
INT – PLAYGROUND
Guillermo stands in front of GUILLERMO’S FATHER.
GUILLERMO:
What happened now? The cat died?
GUILLERMO’S FATHER:
No, none of both. Actually, I’ve never been so ashamed of
you.
GUILLERMO:
What’re you talking about??
The secretariat just called me a few minutes ago. She said
you were bullying a boy your grade. And, you were sending
your brother, YOUR OWN BROTHER, to do stuff you don’t dare
to do.
GUILLERMO looks worried.

But, you know what? You’re just there. Laughing, pretending
you don’t care. You know what? Because of you, your brother
doesn’t want to return to home. Now, he’s crashing with a
friend, until you move.
(SILENCE)
You know what? You’re grounded. And, guess what? You’re
definetly not going to the Halloween Ball Dance on Tuesday.
I prefer you stay at home and wash the dishes. And you can
tell your friends they can go alone to the dance.
Guillermo is emotional.
GUILLERMO:
Please, Dad……
DON’T CALL ME DAD!!! YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER ARE GONE
BECAUSE OF YOU!!!
(SILENCE)

(TO THE TEACHER)

GUILLERMO’S FATHER walks away.
Guillermo is worried.

Marco looks beyond happy.
Then, THE PRINCIPAL, Luisa, approaches to Marco.

LUISA:
Well, isn’t he Marco the fugitive??
Marco turns, surprised.
MARCO:
Hi.
LUISA:
What are you doing here?
MARCO:
I was looking for the bathroom, but I got lost.
LUISA:
Oh, Marco, you always need to remember bathroom is crossing
that hallway over there.
Marco looks at the hallway. There’s the bathroom.
MARCO:
Ok, thanks.
He walks faster to it.
INT – PLAYGROUND
Guillermo realizes Marco has been watching him. He looks

worried, but at the same time, ANGRIER. He thinks Marco
accused him.
CUT TO:
EXT – LIBRARY – LATER THAT DAY
Marco walks to a library on the street, with his backpack on

his back.
INT – LIBRARY – READING SECTION
We’re inside of the reading section.
We follow Marco as he’s searching for books.

Then, he stops and looks at one.
He grabs it. The book is THE GODFATHER BY MARIO PUZO.
MARCO:
Bingo.
On a table, he puts the book. On a chair, he puts his backpack.

He sits and opens the book. He starts reading quietly.
MARCO:
(READING)
Chapter One. Behind every fortune, there is a crime.
Amerigo Bonasera sat on New York Criminal Court Number 3, and
waited for justice; vengeance on the men who had so cruelly
hurt his daughter, who had tried to dishonor her. The judge,

INT – NEIGHBORHOOD – LATER
Marco walks on a neighborhood close to his house.
We see two youngsters, looking at him, they walk to him, and

they look familiar: THEY’RE JAVIER AND FRANCO.
Then, Guillermo walks in front of Marco. Both stop. Javier

and Franco, behind Marco, stop too.
GUILLERMO:
Where do you think you’re going?
MARCO:
I’m going home.
GUILLERMO:
Wow, that’s so funny. Because, you know what? I think
you’re not going fucking anywhere. I think you’ll stay here
and answer some questions.
A beat.
GUILLERMO:
Were you watching me, discussing with my dad at the

playground?
MARCO:
(beat)
No.
GUILLERMO:
Oh, that’s funny, because I saw you. What do you got in
your backpack?
MARCO:
What?
GUILLERMO:
I saw you at the library, buying a book. I want to see it,
then we’ll go.
Marco shakes his head in a NO answer.
GUILLERMO:
No?
MARCO:
It’s my book.
GUILLERMO:
What makes you think it’s yours? C’mon, show it to me.
Guillermo shakes his head, to the two bullies.
Then, FRANCO AND JAVIER start getting Marco’s backpack off

him. But they’re trying. Marco and the two bullies are
fighting for the backpack.
Then, the two bullies grab it, making Marco fall to the
ground, grunting. They laugh at him.
GUILLERMO:
Good boy.
The three bullies start checking on his backpack. Notebooks

starts getting thrown off. They found the book THE GODFATHER.
GUILLERMO:
Ooooh, Puzo. Funny, I never knew rats had so good eye on

literature. Let’s get out of here, guys.
Then, Marco starts squeezing the earth on the ground, he’s

angry. He grabs a rock, and as soon as he stands up, he yells
and-----HE TOSSES IT RIGHT ON GUILLERMO’S HEAD WITH ALL HIS
STRENGTH.
Guillermo freezes, he opens his mouth, touches the excact

same place where Marco hit him in the head, and falls to his
knees. He starts screaming and yelling in pain. The two
bullies get on his knees to make him better.
JAVIER:
Holy shit!
FRANCO:
Jesus Christ! Marco, are you fucking crazy?!?
But Marco doesn’t care. He feels vengeful.
He approaches, and HE TAKES THE BOOK FROM GUILLERMO’S HANDS.
FRANCO:
It’s gonna be alright.
(To Marco)
WHAT DID YOU DO, MARCO!?!? WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!?
MARCO:
I SHOWED HIM.
Franco runs back to a crying Guillermo. The three bullies

stand up and start walking off.
JAVIER:
Come on, guys. Let’s go to my house. There’s bandages
there.
They walk off. Marco watches, he doesn’t care. He puts the

notebooks AND THE BOOK in the backpack. He closes it. He walks
to his house, with a humongous happiness on him.
CUT TO:
INT – THE RED SHACK – MAIN ROOM – NIGHT
THE BROTHER is cooking in the kitchen. Marco approaches to

the entrance.
THE BROTHER:
Uhh, Marco. Could you come here please? It’s just for a
moment.
Marco freezes, and turns, and walks to THE BROTHER.

THE BROTHER turns to Marco.
THE BROTHER:
If you’re going out tonight, can you-----Could you please
not see that girl tonight? Please?
Marco doesn’t want to do it.
MARCO:
That’s not for you to decide.
Marco walks to the doorway. THE BROTHER is worried and

thoughtful.
CUT TO:
INT – PARK
Marco walks faster to the park, where Tamara is, waiting on

the swingers.
As Marco approaches to her, he sits on the swinger next to

her.
MARCO:
Hi.
TAMARA:
Hi.
MARCO:
I can’t wait to tell you what happened to me---
TAMARA:
Before you can say anything, do you want to walk around,

talk about things?
MARCO:
Sure.
Marco and Tamara stand up and start walking off the park.
EXT – THE RED SHACK – CONTINUOUS
We see a shadowing figure, watching from the outside. We’re

focusing on Tamara and Marco only, watching how they’re
leaving the park, those two young rebel souls.
As they leave, we focus on the figure: A PERSON LIGHTING A

CIGARETTE. IT’S THE BROTHER. He watches how Marco leaves the
park with Tamara. He starts smoking. He looks………JEALOUS.
CUT TO:
INT – STREET – MINUTES LATER
Marco and Tamara are walking on the street together.
MARCO:
So, there’s this scumbag, the one I told you about. He
tried to steal a book I bought. But, I grabbed a rock and
tossed it right on the back of his head. He was literally
bleeding. You should have seen his face.
Tamara looks happy, impressed.
MARCO:
Oh my god, it was---
TAMARA:
Marco.
MARCO:
It was amazing.
TAMARA:
Marco?
Both stop.
MARCO:
Yeah?
Tamara is freezed.
Then, a sweet moment: Tamara approaches and HUGS MARCO. Marco

hugs her too.
MARCO:
Is this a way to say congratulations to me?
TAMARA:
Uhhhh, maybe.
Marco feels grateful.
They let go.

EXT – SCHOOL
Marco and Tamara walk outside of Marco’s school. Tamara sees

a photo on the wall. A big massive wallpaper of a Halloween
pumpkin with fire on the eyes. The wallpaper has two titles.
The title from up the pumpkin says: HALLOWEEN SCHOOL BALL
DANCE. Title from down the pumpkin says OCTOBER 31, 2017.
Marco realizes she’s watching the wallpaper.
MARCO:
Wait, you want to go to THAT?
TAMARA:
Yeah.
MARCO:
Uhhhhh, I don’t know. I mean, what if you get bored?
TAMARA:
What’re you talking about?
MARCO:
It’s just this cheesy school dance where people get dressed
in costumes and dance and chat about stuff. Why should we
even go?
Marco starts walking. So as Tamara.
CUT TO:
INT – STORE
Marco and Tamara are in a little store, with a little crowd

of people.
MARCO:
Want anything from the store? You can have anything from
here. Of course, everything in here is paid, so……If you
want anything, I can pay it. I got cash.
Tamara looks around. She has never been in a store before.

She starts walking around, seeing if she can find something
Marco could buy to her.
Then, on a fridge, she sees packed meats. She starts looking

at them.
Marco looks at her, looking at the meats.
MARCO:
Is everything ok?
As soon as Marco says OK, she aparts her view from the meats.
TAMARA:
Yeah, everything is fine.
MARCO:
You sure?
TAMARA:
Yeah, it’s just……let’s get out of here.
Tamara starts leaving the store.
MARCO:
Sure you don’t want anything from here?
Maro walks to the exit.
CUT TO:
INT – NEIGHBORHOOD – MINUTES LATER
Tamara and Marco walk in the neighborhood.
MARCO:
So, when did you moved here?
TAMARA:
I’ve been here for a very long time. I can’t even remember
when I got here.
MARCO:
So, if you’ve been here, why didn’t you go out of the house
all this time?
TAMARA:
I couldn’t go out of the house. Dad’s rules.
MARCO:
Do you live with your dad?
Silence. She doesn’t want to answer that.
TAMARA:
So, when did you moved here?
MARCO:
We moved here because of my mom. She grew up in this town,
and that’s why we moved here.
TAMARA:

Silence. He doesn’t want to answer that.

They arrive to their houses.
MARCO:
Well, here we are. This was a fun night. Maybe we should
repeat it.
TAMARA:

MARCO:

Both walk to their homes. Before Marco could enter his, he

turns to Tamara.
MARCO:
Hey, Tamara?
Before she could enter to her home, she turns to Marco.
TAMARA:

MARCO:
We can go. To the ball dance.
Tamara is happy.
TAMARA:
Ok.
Both enter to their homes.
CUT TO:
INT – MARCO’S ROOM – MINUTES AFTER
Marco, lying on his bed, looks up. Then, he wraps his arms
around him, probably thinking about the hug of him and
Tamara. He closes his eyes, and sleeps.
CUT TO:
INT - SCHOOL STAGE – THE OTHER DAY
Everybody were sitting on chairs, looking front, where LUISA,

some teachers, and THE FATHER are reunited on the stage. LUISA
is behind of the microphone. All students are chatting.
LUISA:
Alright, everyone pay attention, please. Please, pay
attention.
All students are on SILENCE.
LUISA:
Thank you. Now, you’re wondering why we brought you here.
That question we can answer it later. Now, I give you, the
town’s chief. Please, come on in.
As THE FATHER approaches, nobody clap or anything. They’re

just on silence. THE FATHER is behind the microphone. LUISA
backs away.
THE FATHER:
Alright, as some of you may have heard, and some of you
didn’t, there were many incidents in this town, in which
many people from here were found brutally killed. Now, I
want you to know that help is here. We can catch this
killer, or whoever it is. And, I want you to cooperate,
cooperate with us. If you see anything suspicious, please
report it. We would like you all to be alert to any
suspicious activity. If you go outside at night, enter your
homes if you see such suspicious thing. But, I promise you,
that streets will be safer again. Believe in that.
(Silence)

THE FATHER backs away, like after giving an emotional Oscar

speech. Marco was looking front, thoughtful and in silence
all the time.
LUISA:
That was the police chief, giving us some important

information. Now, I would like you to return to your
classrooms and continue with your class---
All students, including Marco, stand up and start to exit the

STAGE.
INT – HALLWAY – CONTINUOUS
All students walk to their classrooms, in the hallway. We

follow Marco, who is walking front.
Then, we hear a boy running to him……
CRISTOBAL: (O.S)
Hey, Marco!!
Marco looks back and sees Cristobal running to him. As soon

as Marco turns, Cristobal stops running and approaches to
him.
MARCO:
Yeah?
CRISTOBAL:
Listen, have you ever went to friend reunions?
MARCO:
What?
CRISTOBAL:
I mean, have you ever been in a reunion with your friends
in a place, laughing and complaining about life?
MARCO:
(Thinking; looking somewhere else)
Uhhhhh……
(Looks at Cristobal)
No, I haven’t. Why?
CRISTOBAL:
Well, me and some friends and guys from Aother School are
going to make a reunion at my apartment this Saturday. And,
I was wondering if you would like to come.
MARCO thinks.
MARCO:
It’ll be on Saturday?
CRISTOBAL:
Yeah, and it will be ‘till Sunday morning. Of course, if
you have any problem with that.
MARCO:
No, I don’t.
CRISTOBAL:
Great, so, you can come at that day?
MARCO:
Maybe, yeah. Sure.
CRISTOBAL:
Great.
Cristobal hands Marco a note with writing on it. He takes it.
CRISTOBAL:
That’s the address.
MARCO:
Huh, thanks.
Cristobal starts walking off. So as Marco, who looks happy.

He walks off too.
From the exit of the stage, we see THE FATHER, who looked at
the scene. His face describes him as worried.
CUT TO:
INT – THE RED SHACK – MAIN ROOM – GETTING NIGHT
Marco walks from his room to the entrance. As he’s about to

open the door……
THE BROTHER: (O.S)

Where do you think you’re going? Sneaking off?
……Marco turns to THE BROTHER, standing right behind him, on

the kitchen.
MARCO:
I’m just going to the park.
THE BROTHER:
You’re going to see that girl again?
MARCO:
What do you care?
THE BROTHER:
See, I care a lot. I care a lot about you, Marco.
MARCO:
(SCOFFS)
When have you ever cared about me?
THE BROTHER:
What?
MARCO:
When have you ever cared about me?!?!? If I go outside and
something happens to me, you won’t help`me!!! You just stay
here and laugh everytime!!! You make jokes all the time!!!
When?!?
THE BROTHER, on silence, speaks himself.
THE BROTHER:
When have I ever cared about you?? I cared a lot, all this
time. I just get a little ’’uncontrolled’’ with the
alcohol.
MARCO:
Oh, how reasonable you are. If you care about me, you
wouldn’t ask me to bring you beer all the time. You got
legs, you can grab it by yourself.
(Getting emotional)
I can go out there, and I can never go back. And let’s see
how worried you are.
THE BROTHER:
I am worried right now. I’m afraid that you go out there,

and I never see you again.
MARCO:
WORRIED?!?! WORRIED?!? That is the biggest goddamn joke
I’ve ever heard coming out of your mouth!! If I go out
there and die, what would you do?? Oh, I know!! Sit right
there, in that couch, drinking like the stupid piece of
shit you are!!!
A beat. SILENCE. This is the moment we’ve all been waiting

for.
MARCO:
Ok, let’s be honest here. Why are you so jealous about
everything?
THE BROTHER:
I just wanted to get this family together again.
MARCO:
Well, guess what. This family is dead. It has been always
this way.
THE BROTHER:
You have no idea what death is.
MARCO:
I don’t? My mom, our mom, passed away a few months ago!!
And you don’t even care. YOU DON’T EVEN FUCKING CARE!! Now
I think that’s what you’ll do if something happens to me:
You’ll just say you don’t care.
As Marco gets teary, he runs to the door. THE BROTHER runs to

him.
EXT – THE RED SHACK
Marco runs out of the house. THE BROTHER runs behind him, but
slips. He stands up, and watches how Marco runs.
THE BROTHER:
Alright, run!!! RUN!!!! YOU CAN BE JUST LIKE MOM!!!
LEAVE!!! RUN AWAY WITH THAT SLUT!!!!
INT – STREET
Marco stops running. He stops and pants.
TAMARA: (O.S)
What was that all about?
Marco turns to see TAMARA in front of him.
MARCO:
You know my brother.
TAMARA:
Is he YOUR BROTHER?
MARCO:
Yeah.
TAMARA:
I thought he was your father.
MARCO:
(SCOFFS)
Trust me. He’s not, and he will never be.
TAMARA:
Why were you arguing???
MARCO:
Why are you asking that?
TAMARA:
I ask because I want to know. It’s no big deal.
MARCO:
Just brotherly business.
Marco looks like he doesn’t want to talk about it. He sits on

a bench. He still looks teary. Tamara slowly approaches to
him.
MARCO:
What is it?
She starts drying his tears.
TAMARA:
Did he hurt you?
MARCO:
He always does.
TAMARA:
Vebally or physically?
MARCO:
Both. I just hate him so much. He drinks a lot. Because of
him, I want to leave this town, forever.
TAMARA:
Well, you can run away with me. We both can.
MARCO:
Yeah, I guess so. Do you hate this town?
TAMARA:
(Shrugs)
I don’t know. Do you?
MARCO:
Yeah. It’s always the same. Nothing really happens in here.
Nothing.
SILENCE.
TAMARA:
And do you……want to kill your brother?
MARCO:
Kinda. Yeah. But I can’t. He’s always watching me.
(Silence)

TAMARA:

Then, on Tamara’s stomach, we hear hunger. She touches her

stomach.
TAMARA:
Sorry, I gotta go.
MARCO:
Just go. I need to dry me tears off in here.
Tamara looks worried, she stands off the bench and runs away.
Marco looks at her: she is running faster than the usual
running people do. Marco looks down, worried, and a bit teary.
CUT TO:
INT – KITCHEN – LATER
On the fridge, there’s a written note. It shows a message:

YOUR BROTHER ISN’T HERE. WENT TO THE BAR.
Marco sighs.
Marco looks on the drawer. He grabs a kitchen knife.
Marco keeps the kitchen knife on his drawer.
Marco watches on his window: THE NEIGHBOR’S ex wife,

preparing for sleep. She turns off all lights.
Marco sighs.
MARCO:
JUST GO. What is wrong with me?
Then, OUTSIDE, we hear three knocks on the main door.
KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK
Marco watches his door.
INT – MAIN ROOM
Marco walks faster to the main door. He hopes its Tamara.

He starts smiling in anxiety. He sees through the door
hole, but his smile fades away.
ON THE DOOR HOLE --- We see THE BROTHER, drunk, knocking on

the door.
Marco looks front and as he opens the door----
CUT TO:
INT – THE FATHER’S OFFICE – MORNING – THE NEXT DAY
IT’S PROBABLY SATURDAY
The Father looks down, to his desk. He is thoughtful. And

worried.
SIMON enters.
SIMON:
Chief. It happened again.
THE FATHER:
What is it this time?
SIMON:
Dead sheeps. On Park’s barn. Only one survived, but the
rest of them……they turned into barbecue meat.
THE FATHER:
(SIGHS)
I just don’t get it, why do we always succeed on catching
whoever this person is, and we always fail.
(SIGHS)
I just need an answer. I want to bring that person to

justice.
SIMON:
Chief, how about we get a little rest from all this murder
thing, and tag along with me and have a beer at the moon
palace?? Boy, I heard the Chilean beers are so tasty and
frosty.
THE FATHER looks down. In despair. Tired.
THE FATHER:
Maybe……Maybe I do need some rest……Maybe I’m getting
slow……Maybe I’m getting tired……Or maybe……Maybe I’m just
getting old. Maybe I am the one who would loved to get
caught.
SILENCE.
THE FATHER:
Maybe I’m sick of all of this, and I do need some vacation.
Some rest. Probably take my kids to a resort.
(SIGHS)
It’s just, this town……it shreds everything it catches. What
if it’s shredding me? Shredding me one in a while, slowly.
(SIGHS)
I just need an answer. Or else, a sign. Something.
A reflective moment he’s having. THE FATHER just wants all of

this over. He wants to end this somehow. He sighs. He needs
to find a way out. He wanted to find a way IN, now he’s trying
to find a way OUT.
CUT TO:
EXT – TAMARA’S HOUSE – CONTINUOUS
Marco was knocking on Tamara’s door. No answer.
MARCO:
Uhh, hey Tamara? Listen, I’m sorry of how I talked the

other night. I’m sorry if I left you hurt that night. I’m
just here to tell you I’m going to a friend’s house. It’ll
be till the other day.
Silence. Marco is worried.
MARCO:
Well, that. See you……later??
Silence.
MARCO:
(SIGHS)
Ok.
Marco walks away. Then, we go on a wall to:
INT – TAMARA’S HOUSE – CONTINUOUS
We see Tamara has been listening to it. She’s sitting on

the ground, putting her ear in the doorway. She’s also
worried.
CUT TO:
EXT – CRISTOBAL’S APARTMENT - LATER
We see an apartment complex. The day is sunny.
Then, we see a cop car parking on.
(NOTE: IT IS IMPLIED THAT THE FATHER BROUGHT MARCO THERE ON

HIS CAR)
INT – APARTMENT HALLWAY
Marco walks on a hallway. He’s walking front. We’re

following him.
Then, he reads a card he took from his pocket. It’s the

same address Cristobal gave to him.
He stops and looks front. We see a white door. It says 23.

Marco reads the note.
MARCO:
Door 23. Got it.
He SIGHS and knocks the door. As someone opens the door……
CUT TO:
INT – CRISTOBAL’S APARTMENT ROOM – MINUTES LATER
Sitting on the ground, Marco. With Cristobal and

Cristobal’s friends, Adriano (14), Balta (14), David (15),
Bastian (18), and Alvaro (18). They’re laughing and they’re
all drinking Coca-Colas.
DAVID:
Jesus, that’s so funny.
BASTIAN:
So, Marco, right?
MARCO:
Mhm.
BASTIAN:
You know, Cris has been telling us a lot about you.
ALVARO:
Yeah, I’ve heard you knocked the shit out of a kid with a
rock. I gotta admit, I admire that.
MARCO:
Yeah.
BASTIAN:
Ok, a serious question right now. If you guys could be the
owners of the world, what would you guys do with it??
(SILENCE; no one answers)

Marco doesn’t know what to answer. He’s stuttering.

spend our time, looking at the sky, wondering what the hell

In a bunk bed, David was sleeping up, Marco was sleeping

down. On another bunk bed, next to them, Cristobal was
sleeping up, Balta was sleeping down.
EXT – APARTMENT
From far, we see on their window, ---A SHADOWING FIGURE

SITTING ON THE EDGE OF THE WINDOW. THE FIGURE IS NOT AFRAID
OF FALLING. IT JUST SITS THERE. IT LOOKS FAMILIAR.
ON WINDOW ANGLE
From outside, we see Marco sleeping, then, we see a

bloodied hand, putting the hand on the window.
INT – ROOM
As we see Marco sleeping, we hear something peculiar. WE

HEAR THE WINDOW OPENING.
We slowly turn and see THE SAME SHADOWING FIGURE, standing,

looking pale. It just got out from killing a guy. It looks
at Marco.
Then, the figure gets on its knees and looks at Marco,

worried-----IT’S TAMARA, with her mouth covered in red
blazing blood.
She puts her bloodied hand on Marco’s cheek, she slowly

puts it there.
Then---
ANGLE ON MARCO’S EYES: They open.
As Marco wakes up, he gets his head up. HE STILL HAS THE
BLOOD HAND MARK ON HIS CHEEK.
He notices that the window is open. He rushes to it.
EXT – ROOM
From the window, Marco gets his head up, he holds to the
edges. He looks right, then, left. Then, he looks down.
ANGLE: We see Tamara, up on Marco on the window. Marco

can’t even notice her. He sighs and goes back inside.
As he closes the window, Tamara crawls up.
INT – BATHROOM – CONTINUOUS
Marco turns the lights on of the bathroom. As he washes his

face, he notices the blood hand mark on his cheek. He
admires it. He looks at it, with wonder.
He starts touching it.
SMASH TO:
INT – NEIGHBORHOOD – MORNING
In Bastian’s car, Alvaro is driving to Marco’s

neighborhood. Marco is in the front seat.
ALVARO: (O.S)
Here it is, right?
MARCO: (O.S)
Yeah.
INT – CAR
The Car stops.
ALVARO:
Alright, see you next time.
MARCO:
Alright. See you guys.
ALVARO:
Just in case.
Marco turns to Alvaro.
ALVARO:
If in Halloween, you don’t have anywhere, or anyone, to put
you some makeup---Well, David is a good kid on putting make
ups on, so……
MARCO:
That’d be great.
ALVARO:
Also, you can introduce us to that girl you were talking
about.
MARCO:
Sure.
ALVARO:

MARCO.

Marco gets out of the car. Marco walks to his house, and the
car drives away.
INT – TAMARA’S HOUSE
Tamara, as a shadowing figure, watches how Marco gets on his

house. Her hand is on the window.
CUT TO:
INT – CRISTOBAL’S APARTMENT ROOM – HALLOWEEN NIGHT
David, disguised as Jack from The Shining, was putting

makeup on Tamara’s face.
DAVID:
Ok, wait, hold on. Look up, up. There we go. That’s it.
And, done.
He’s done. David grabs a little mirror, and hands it to

Tamara.
DAVID:
You’re just like the corpe’s bride.
We see Tamara’s face: She has a skull makeup on her, she

chekcs herself on the little mirror. She’s impressed.
TAMARA:
How did you learned how to do this?
DAVID:
I don’t know. Magic, I guess. You like it?
TAMARA:
It’s amazing.
MARCO: (ON BATHROOM)

I’m definetly not going like this!! I look ridiculous.
DAVID:
No, you don’t look ridiculous.
David walks to the bathroom. Tamara looks at him, going

there. David tries to open the door of the bathroom, but
it’s locked.
DAVID:
You even locked yourself there?? Open the door.
Tamara stands UP and slowly approaches to the bathroom.
David walks off.
Tamara looks at the door, and through the edge of the door,
sees Marco on the bathroom, but we don’t see his face. It’s
blurred.
Tamara doesn’t say anything.
DAVID:
Come on, have you ever seen the EVIL DEAD films? You saw
how those guys had zombie makeups to look like it was
completely real?
Marco opens the door. David approaches and Tamara looks at

him: He has a zombie makeup on his face.
MARCO:
Yeah, I saw the films. I don’t think those guys ever wore
makeup like this in their entire life.
DAVID:
Trust me. They did.
MARCO:
I look ridiculous.
DAVID:
You look great.
Marco does look good, even though he doesn’t accept it.
Cristobal, with a Michael Myers mask on his head on,

approaches.
CRISTOBAL:
Are we ready to go?
MARCO:
You have to admit it. I look terrible.
CRISTOBAL:
Let’s go.
David, Cristobal, Marco, Tamara and Balta walk to the main

door.
CRITSOBAL:

They close the door.
Alvaro walks to the entrance.
ALVARO:

Bastian and Adriano are sitting on the couch, playing on the

PS4, probably Mortal Kombat.
ADRIANO:
Yeah.
He exits the apartment.

JUST IN CASE: Alvaro went to a horror movie marathon on the

theater.
BASTIAN:

We hear kicks and punches on the TV.
CUT TO:
INT – STREET – MINUTES LATER THAT NIGHT
Upside down, we see a clear shot of two little kids,

disguised, one with a yellow slicker, disguised as Georgie
from IT, and the other as the other kid is disguised as
ghost face from SCREAM.
As they run to us, the shot begins to be in normal state,

as we see how the two kids run, screaming, and laughing.
On the street, we see people walking, also disguised as

everything. Every monster you could imagine.
We also see Cristobal, with the Michael Myers mask on,

along with David, and Tamara and Marco.
Tamara looks at Marco. He notices.
MARCO:
What?
TAMARA:
You don’t look terrible. You look nice.
MARCO:
No, I don’t. I definetly look like shit.
TAMARA:
If you say that, then you’re going to spend your entire
life saying you look like shit, because, you know what? You
don’t. You don’t look like shit. You look nice. I like it.
Marco is thoughtful. He’s probably thinking: maybe she’s

right. They just keep walking. Tamara looks front.

EXT – SCHOOL – LATER THAT NIGHT
Outside of the school, we see the school kids, also

disguised, entering. Cristobal, David, Tamara and Marco
enter too.
As Marco was about to get in,
FRANCO: (O.S)
(To Marco)

Marco freezes and sees Franco, smiling at him, smiling like

a friend.
MARCO:
(Uhhhh)

He walks in. Franco’s smile fades away, it turns into anger

and despair, both at the same time.
He walks outside of the school. On the parking lot, Javier is

smoking a cigarette. He notices Franco is approaching to him.
JAVIER:

INT – SCHOOL GYM
All the disguised school kids are surrounded on the school

gym, where there’s the song Got Well Soon by Breton
sounding on the speakers. Everyone is dancing, talking, and
chatting, all at the same time. IT’S THE HALLOWEEN BALL
DANCE.
Cristobal, David, Marco and Tamara enter.
MARCO:
Holy shit, what happened to this place?
DAVID:
I know, right?

INT – EMPTY PLAYGROUND - CONTINUOUS
On an empty spot, probably an empty playground, we see

Guillermo, Javier and Franco, putting water on something.
GUILLERMO:
Alright, light it up.
Javier takes the cigar out of his mouth and drops it to the
wet spot.
CUT BACK TO:
INT - GYM
The group admire the place, especially Tamara, she has

never been in a school party before.
TAMARA:
So, this is what a party looks like, right?
David and Cristobal approach to the gym.
MARCO:
(To Tamara)
C’mon, let’s go.
Marco and Tamara also approach to the gym. Tamara still

admires the whole scene.
MARCO:
Guys, I’ll catch you later.
DAVID:

CRISTOBAL:

Marco stops and turns to Tamara.
MARCO:

TAMARA:

MARCO:

There’s a big fire outside.
PEER: (O.S)

Everyone, including Marco and Tamara start exiting the gym.

What were you about to tell me?
TAMARA:
Nothing. It doesn’t matter.

A big blazing fire is on the empty playground.
EXT – SCHOOL
All students get out of the school. We follow Tamara. Marco

runs to her.
MARCO:
Hey. Are you ok?
TAMARA:
I’m fine.
MARCO:

TAMARA:
Yeah, I’m sure. Let’s just keep walking.
MARCO:
Ok, have you seen the fire back there?
TAMARA is on silence. She doesn’t want to talk about it.

As the students get out, Javier talks to Carlos.
JAVIER:
Hey Carlos, uhh, do you know where Marco went? Because I
seriously want to ask him something real quick.
CARLOS:
Uhh, I don’t know. But, if I’m not incorrect, I just saw
him leaving with a girl.
Javier realizes.
JAVIER:
To the street.

INT – STREET – CONTINUOUS
Marco and Tamara are walking on the street. She still looks
like she doesn’t want to talk about it. She looks worried,
melancholic. Something is not ok.
MARCO:
Look, if you’re mad at me for something I did……
TAMARA:
You didn’t do anything wrong.
MARCO:
Then, what’s the problem?
(SILENCE)

JAVIER: (O.S)

(Javier, Guillermo and Franco approach to them; Javier

Tamara is pissed. Marco looks at her, then at Guillermo,

who’s impressed and happy.

Mostly, because she’s stronger than this piece of shit.
MARCO:

GUILLERMO:
(Punches Marco in the face; he falls to the ground;
grunting)

Guillermo and his bullies laugh. Tamara starts pushing

Guillermo, grunting in madness. Then, SHE PUNCHES HIM IN
THE FACE. Javier and Franco say ’’Ohhhhhhh’’. Then,
Guillermo pushes her, and she falls to the ground.

Guillermo and his two bullies laugh.
GUILLERMO:
How adorable!! Two dipshits trying to confront me!! Fucking
losers!!!
As Guillermo and his bullies start backing away, Marco

approaches to Tamara.
MARCO:
Are you ok??
Then, Tamara, panting in anger, stands up, and runs to

Guillermo, yelling.
As Guillermo turns, Tamara lunges to him, and starts

attacking him. Guillermo screams. Marco observs the scene
in shock as he stands up. Guillermo is thrown on the ground
by Tamara, who still attacks him. Tamara stratches
Guillermo on the cheek.
Javier runs to them.
JAVIER:
Get off you crazy bitch--!!!
As soon as he says ’’bitch’’, Tamara wildly scratches him

on the hand. Her eyes are wild green.
Marco runs to Tamara.
MARCO:
Alright, stop!!!
As soon as Marco says STOP, Tamara scratches him. He falls

to the ground. Marco stands up and realizes he has a
scratch on his left hand. Marco gasps in confusion, wonder.
Tamara pants and then, she starts getting worried, her

green eyes start to vanish. It’s the same brown eyes she
has. She stands up.
Then, Guillermo stands up, and runs with the bullies.
GUILLERMO:
Let’s get out of here! Let’s go!!! She’s fucking crazy!!!
They run far from Marco and Tamara.
MARCO:
How did you do that?
TAMARA:
I don’t know. No idea.
Then, Tamara sees a bit of blood coming off the scratch.

She starts growling and panting in hunger. Marco looks at
her. Tamara realizes what she’s doing. She starts getting
worried. She starts backing away. Then, she runs away.
MARCO:
Wait!! Hold on!!!
Too Late. Tamara runs so faster, Marco stops and looks at

her.
He looks at his scratched hand. He, emotive and worried,

looks how Tamara disappears in the night.
He walks away, in the other direction.
CUT TO:
INT – BATHROOM
Marco, still wearing his disguise, bandages his scratched

left hand. As he finishes, he looks at himself in the
mirror, then thinks.
Then, he walks away.
Knock Knock Knock (O.S)
CUT TO:
EXT - TAMARA’S HOUSE - LATER THAT NIGHT
Marco, still wearing his Halloween costume, knocks on

Tamara’s door with his left hand. He has a bandage on his
left hand, where Tamara scratched him.
MARCO:
Tamara, are you here?
(Silence; no answer)
INT - TAMARA’S HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
Tamara, still on her Halloween costume, looks front. To the

door.
We hear knocking.
MARCO: (O.S)
Please, i want to talk. Then, i’ll go. I swear.
Tamara looks worried. Worried if she screwed something

important.
EXT - TAMARA’S HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
Marco is still there. The door opens. Tamara opens the

door.
TAMARA:
Hi.
MARCO:
Hi.
Uncomfortable silence. Tamara backs away.
TAMARA:
You can come inside.
Marco, just like that, steps inside.
INT - TAMARA’S HOUSE - CONTINUOUS

Marco steps inside. He looks around. Then, he looks back.

He sees Tamara closing the door. Then, she looks at him.
MARCO:
Listen, i just want to talk--
As soon as Marco will finish his words, Tamara interrupts

him.
TAMARA:
Before you say anything, i need to tell you something.
MARCO:
Yeah, sure, go ahead.
Silence.
TAMARA:
I want to try something with you. Come, follow me.
Tamara walks to a room. Marco follows her.
INT - TAMARA’S ROOM
Tamara opens the door, she lets Marco get inside. Marco
enters. So does she.
Marco looks at her room: An empty room, with a mark of a

bed on the back wall. It has a closet where you can hide.
It doesn’t got a bed. On the ground, there’s Marco’s poetry
pages thrown on the ground.
MARCO:
Wow. You have such an interesting room in here.
Tamara approaches to him.
TAMARA:
Please take your shoes off.
MARCO:
What??????
TAMARA:
Can you please take your shoes off??
Marco, convinced, takes his shoes off.
TAMARA:
Take off your sweater.
MARCO:
Ok, what are you doing? What is happening?
TAMARA:
I told you i want to try something new with you.
Marco takes his sweater off, revealing his blue shirt.
TAMARA:
Wait here.
She exits the room. Marco is thoughtful. He is wondering:

“What would she want to try with ME?”
Then, she approaches back with pillows and with a sheet.

She puts both on the ground, arming it like if it was a
bed.
TAMARA:
Rest there.
MARCO:
What are you doing???
TAMARA:
I’ll tell you later. Please….
She looks desesperate. She definitely wants to try this

with Marco.
Marco lays on the bed, on the right side. He puts part of

the sheet on him.
TAMARA:
Close your eyes. Or if you want, keep them on.
Marco looks somewhere else. Then….

ANGLE ON THE GROUND - We hear Tamara is taking off part of

her clothes. We see her jacket being thrown on the ground.
Then, we see her shoes being thrown on the ground. Then, we
see her blue jeans being thrown on the ground. Her nude
legs walk on the ground.
Tamara approaches to Marco. She lays on the left side.

Luckily, she’s wearing a black shirt and an underwear.
They both look at each other.
MARCO:
Is this what you wanted to try??
She nods.
TAMARA:
Do you feel uncomfortable with all of this???
MARCO:
No. It’s fine.
(Silence)
How did you do it???
TAMARA:
Do what???
Marco shows his bandaged left hand. She is worried. She

looks up.
TAMARA:
Remember back once, at the park, when i told you there’s a
lot of things you don’t know about me???
MARCO:
Yeah.
TAMARA:
Well…..this is one of them.
MARCO:
Alright, but, how did you do it??? You attacked those
scumbags. You were yelling.
A beat. Tamara is afraid that she could get caught.
TAMARA:

MARCO:

TAMARA:
(Looks at Marco)

She looks up again.
TAMARA:
You don’t know who i am. I’ve done bad things. Terrible,

(Silence; a beat)

TAMARA:
I just can’t cut it out. It’s what i do. To survive. To
live. Otherwise, if i don’t do it, i’ll starve to death.
MARCO:

TAMARA:
(Explaining herself)

MARCO:
Wait, so, all of those dead townspeople…
He looks at her, worried. Both look at each other.

TAMARA:
(Feeling guilt on herself)
Yes.
Marco looks up and sighs. He can’t believe what he’s

experiencing.
MARCO:
Wait, so you’re…..
TAMARA:
Me. I’m still me. I’ve always been me.
MARCO:
Wait, that night, where you followed me home, you tried
to……???
Marco looks at her, worried. She looks up.
TAMARA NODS. IT IS IMPLIED THAT SHE TRIED TO KILL MARCO.
Marco looks up, shocked.
MARCO:
Want me to go?
TAMARA:
What? No, stay.
MARCO:
Ok.
Another uncomfortable silence.
TAMARA:
Are you afraid of me?
MARCO:
No.
TAMARA:
You know, it’s alright if you don’t want to hangout with
me. I understand if you don’t want to be friends anymore. I
can take that. So you don’t have to be so busy.
MARCO:
What? No. I totally get it. I want to still hangout with
you. I still want to be friends with you.
TAMARA:
Really??
He happily nods.
TAMARA:
Marco, do you like me??
MARCO:

TAMARA:
Hmm???
MARCO:

TAMARA:

MARCO:

Everyone here are dead, except for you and me.

I don’t know. Probably to a far place, where they can’t
find us.
Marco thinks.
MARCO:

TAMARA:

Marco thinks. He thinks that this probably might be the

better choice to do.
MARCO:
Ok. I’ll go with you.
TAMARA:

MARCO:
Really.
Both look at each other. They smile at each other.
LATER: Marco was having a nightmare. He was shaking his

head. As he yells, he wakes up. He realises Tamara is
looking, still looking, at him.
TAMARA:
You had a nightmare.
Marco pants. He looks up.
MARCO:
Do you have nightmares???
She nods.
TAMARA:
They’re horrible. I hurt people.
MARCO:
Mine are different. People hurt me.
Silence.
LATER: Marco was sleeping comfortable. Tamara grabs his

bandaged left hand. Then, a sleeping Marco grabs her hand.
She smiles at him. She then puts her arm around him. She
still looks at him. She starts sleeping. They’re sleeping
comfortable. Like an angel and a devil.
Then, we’re focusing on Marco’s face, he’s probably having

another nightmare. We can notice it by his eyes, moving
around, even though they’re closed. We see Tamara’s face,
looking at him. Like, being a guardian to him.
As we see Marco’s face, he seems to get calm from his

nightmare.
We start to see Tamara’s real face: An orange-eyed, pale

face, monstrous looking girl. She’s panting. Then, she
closes her eyes.
LATER: Tamara, with her normal face, is sleeping next to

Marco. A sweet moment.
OUTSIDE, on the window, we see THE BROTHER, watching the

scene from the window. He looks suspicious, worried, or
even worse: JEALOUS. We can notice it by his stare.
He walks off.
CUT TO:
INT - MARCO’S ROOM - MORNING
Marco wakes up on his bed, on his own room. He groans. He

looks around.
He lays on his bed again, looks up, to the ceiling. He

sighs.
Then, he sees his bandaged left hand. He starts taking the

bandage off. He sees his scratch. Stares at it. Looks at
it.
He looks up, and rests both of his hands on his chest.
SMASH TO BLACK

EXT – POLICE DEPARTMENT
INT – THE FATHER’S OFFICE – CONTINUOUS
GUILLERMO is sitting next to THE FATHER, looking at him.

Guillermo’s cheek is bandaged.
GUILLERMO:
---And then, she attacked me, and scratched my cheek.
THE FATHER:
Anyone else was in the scene, despite of you??
GUILLERMO:
Me, my two friends, and that loser---
THE FATHER:
What ’’loser’’?
GUILLERMO:
I’m sorry, I mix up words sometimes. I meant your son. He
was with that girl at that time.
THE FATHER thinks.
THE FATHER:
Can you take off your bandage just for a moment??
GUILLERMO:
Yeah, sure.
He takes it off. He reveals a cheek on his cheek.
THE FATHER looks at it, it looks familiar to him.
THE FATHER:
You know what, son? I’m not going to arrest you. I just
want you to know, anything that happens, anything
suspicious, contact us.
THE FATHER gives Guillermo a card with the police

department number on it.
THE FATHER:
Remember we’re here for you.
GUILLERMO:
Thanks, chief.
Guillermo stands up, as soon as he approaches to the door,

he turns back to THE FATHER.
GUILLERMO:
Sure you got this under control?
THE FATHER:
We always get things under control. Don’t doubt it, son.
Guillermo, satisfied, leaves the room.
THE FATHER sighs, he takes out of his desk spot some

photos, wrapped. They have a name on it:

The Father opens the wrapped package, he starts looking at

them.
THE FATHER, frustrated, looks at a photo. The photo is a

shot photo of a security camera, SHOWING US TAMARA
ATTACKING GUILLERMO.
He flips to another photo: WE SEE TAMARA, but BLURRED.
THE FATHER Sighs.
Simon enters.
SIMON:
Have you checked them well, chief?
THE FATHER:
I have, but they’re all blurred. You know what’s weird? Is
not the blurred pictures, no. It’s weird that a girl, like
my son’s age, could attack a boy, so violently.
(Sighs)
Then, THE FATHER is beginning to get thoughtful. He starts

remembering something important.
THE FATHER:
Hold on a second………
He starts remembering something. He looks at the blurred

pictures.
Then, he roughly gets off his chair, he walks to a desk

full of files.
SIMON:
Chief?!?!?
THE FATHER:
(Searching)
Files……FILES!!!! I need files.
SIMON:
Ok, on my way.
SIMON exits the room. THE FATHER finds files and puts them
on the table. He opens the files, all of them include the
remains of missing people. He flips through pages, through
page. He, on despair, tries to find an answer.
THE FATHER:
Come on!!!
SIMON enters with dozens of files on his hands.
SIMON:
Here there are, chief.
THE FATHER:
Put them here.
Simon puts the files on the desk, THE FATHER starts opening
them.
SIMON:
What is it, chief?
THE FATHER:
Last night, THAT GIRL, from the blurred photo, attacked and
sctarched a boy, right??
SIMON:
Right.
THE FATHER:
Well, out of all the victims we’ve found, all of them had
the same scratches on them. And, they literally look the
same.
SIMON:
Right, so that means……????
THE FATHER, excited, already found his answer.
SIMON:
What?
THE FATHER:
We’ve found our person. Our suspect.
(Points at Tamara, on the blurred photo)
It’s probably her.
SIMON:
What makes you think that?
THE FATHER:
Because I know it’s right. I know it’s her. Maybe, she’s
THE FATHER AND SIMON:

Responsible for all the killing in the town!!!
THE FATHER:
The scratches, Simon!!! All our vitcims had scratches, and
the one that the boy had looks excactly the same.
SIMON:
What should we do?? Interview all the girls of the town???
THE FATHER:
No, they’ll think we’re crazy. Just make a report of it.

SIMON:

Simon leaves the room.
The Father looks at the photo again.
THE FATHER:

He rests his back on the chair, then laughs in

satisfaction.

EXT – THE RED SHACK – NIGHT
Marco starts exiting the house. We hear a loud conversation

from inside the house. Marco looks at The Red Shack. We see
the shadows of THE FATHER, arguing with THE BROTHER,
standing up, frozen, pale.
INT – DINING ROOM – CONTINUOUS
The Father looks front to THE BROTHER, looking pale,

looking down, probably ashamed, full of guilt.
THE FATHER:
--And, do not dare to talk to me or your brother like that,
did you heard what I said???
SILENCE.
THE FATHER:
ANSWER ME!!!!!
THE BROTHER:
(Scared)
I’m sorry……I really am……
THE FATHER:
(Walking to his room)
I wish you could go missing.
THE FATHER walks to his room. THE BROTHER is still on that

position. Creepy looking.
EXT – THE RED SHACK – CONTINUOUS
Marco heard all of that.
TAMARA:

Marco looks at Tamara, approaching to him.
MARCO:

TAMARA:
What was that all about???
MARCO:
Family stuff. It’s something I should get used to.
TAMARA:
Yeah, I understand that. My dad was that way.
Tamara looks like she doesn’t want to talk about that. Her

Tamara starts running somewhere. Marco follows her.
FROM THE WINDOW – The Brother sees the scene. He sees Marco
and Tamara leaving.
The Brother walks faster to:
INT – BATHROOM
The Brother roughly opens and closes the door. He looks at

himself in the mirror, with distress, with a big hurry on
him.
He washes his face, and looks at himself in the mirror.
THE BROTHER:
(To Himself)
You get it done. That’s it. That’s what you do. If you do
something, you get it done. Right??? Get it done.
CUT TO:
INT - SCHOOL - NIGHT
Empty. Looks like one of those creepy horror movie

atmospheres. We hear footsteps. Running footsteps.
We see Tamara and Marco, running, trying not to attract
attention. They’re sneaking.
TAMARA:
Come on.
MARCO:
What’re we doing???
TAMARA:
Just come….
Tamara finds and opens an energy wall box, full of

switches. She opens one switch.
INT - POOL
The pool light go on. Tamara runs and admires the ambient.
TAMARA:
WOW!!! Look at this!!! Come on.
Marco approaches.
MARCO:
What’re we doing???
TAMARA:
We’re swimming.
MARCO:
What if we get in trouble???
Tamara takes her shoes, blue jeans and hoodie off.
TAMARA:
Trust me. We won’t.
MARCO:
(Not sure about it)
This is so stupid. So fuckin stupid.
TAMARA:
You know what's stupid? The fact that you're standing
there, staring at me like a zombie. Come on.
Marco sighs. He starts taking off his red sweater, along

with his pants and shoes. He approaches to the pool.
MARCO:
Ok. Now, who is going to dive first??
TAMARA:

(approaches and pushes Marco to the pool)

MARCO falls to the pool. Tamara jumps to the pool.

As both get their heads on the surface....
MARCO:

MARCO starts running to her, she starts running, laughing

They start playing. Launching water to each other.
LATER: They're swimming. They're both doing it good.
LATER: Tamara is on the edge of the pool, resting. Marco,

still on the pool, swims to her. He puts his hands on the
edge.
MARCO:
Tamara, can i ask you a question???
TAMARA:
Sure. Yeah.
MARCO:
If the whole world was yours, like, if you could be the
owner of the world, what would you do with it???
TAMARA is thoughtful.
TAMARA:
I don't know. I think i should do nothing with it. I rather
spend it with the people i love.
MARCO thinks.
MARCO:

TAMARA:

(Hurried; to Marco)
We got to go.
Marco, worried and hurried, gets up from the pool.
LATER: They’re both gone. The Janitor enters with his

flashlight. He illuminates and sees water splash marks
everywhere.
The JANITOR Sighs. Then, he illuminates water footsteps

going to the exit.
INT – LOCKERS ROOM
The Janitor illuminates the water footsteps going to the

exit. He walks through a locker room, where he walks,
following the water footsteps.
Marco and Tamara are sneaking, trying to walk to the exit.

They’re both dressed.
TAMARA:
(Whispering)
Wait here.
Tamara starts walking. Marco starts following her.

Then, The Janitor, quickly, illuminates Marco, trying to

leave through thr exit door. As the flashlight goes
illuminating him, Marco gasps and turns to The Janitor.
JANITOR:
Jesus Christ, son. You scared the shit outta me. What the
hell are you doin here???
MARCO:
No—Nothing.
JANITOR:
Nothing? Well, wait to the Principal to hear all of this
incident—
As soon as The Janitor said Incident, Tamara, growling like

a wild creature---and acting like a wild creature---jumps
on The Janitor’s back, attacking him. The Janitor screams
in pain as Tamara growls and yells.
Marco just stares there, watching in horror. Then, he turns

and approaches to the exit door. He opens and closes the
door.
INT – HALLWAY
Marco looks down, scared and a bit traumatized. It was all

unexpected to him.
Then, he slowly turns and----
INT – LOCKERS ROOM
---slowly opens the door. He watches in horror how Tamara

is feeding on The Janitor’s dead body. Blood is splattered
everywhere.
As the door creaks, Tamara stops and looks at Marco, her

face is splattered with red blazing blood. Her eyes are
blazing green.
TAMARA:
(Looks down)
Please……
(Looks savagely to Marco)
PLEASE!!!
Marco gasps and inmmediatly closes the door.
INT – HALLWAY
Marco, scared, but worried at the same time, walks to the

exit.
CUT TO:
INT – THE RED SHACK – LATER THAT NIGHT
Inaudible. The Brother, worried, a lot, lets Marco inside

the house. A beautiful melody is sounding. We finally get
to hear the sounds of them.
THE BROTHER:
Where were you?!?!?
MARCO:
Nowhere.
THE BROTHER:
Why are you so wet?
MARCO:
I fell on a puddle.
The Brother follows Marco as he (Marco) walks to his room.
THE BROTHER:
Don’t ever do that do me again!!!
Marco walks into his room and shuts the door. The Brother
kicks the door with his foot.
He locks himself there. He takes his sweater off, and he

lays on his bed, looking up. He looks worried, but tired.
SMASH TO:
EXT – SCHOOL – THE NEXT DAY – MORNING

Marco and a bunch of students walk to the school. As they

approach to the entrance……
POLICEMAN:
(Approaching to them)
Stand back. There has been a terrible accident.
STUDENT:
An accident?? How terrible???
Marco watches with the students through the entrance.

There’s yellow police lines on the edges of the entrance.
Marco can only see the next: Policemen, firemen and medics
holding The Janitor’s bloodied body.
POLICEMAN:
The ambulance is on the way.
Marco looks worried. Worried that if they catch him, or

Tamara.
LATER: An ambulance is on the parking lot. On a bed, medics

are transferring the body of The Janitor. As they put the
body inside, the ambulance starts to leave.
As the ambulance leaves, we turn to Marco, seeing the scene

in shock and worried.
He turns, he is still worried. He starts walking off.
INT – QUIET STREET – MOMENTS LATER
Marco is walking on a quiet street, close to a park. He

turns, and hides on a tree, with fear.
He sees in a park: The three bullies, laughing, talking

about shit, having fun.
JAVIER:
Have you heard?? On the school there has been a terrible
accident.
FRANCO:
You’re talking about the fire we started on Halloween???
JAVIER:
(Punches Franco on the arm)
Shut up, just shut up sacowea.
Sacowea, in the Chilean language, means ’’douchebag’’.
Marco watches, hidden. He’s thoughtful. Maybe he’s thinking

that the three of them made the fire as a distraction.
Now, with no further do, where were we??? Oh yeah……
GUILLERMO:
Shut up!!! What accident??? How terrible???
JAVIER:
Well, remember Don Alejandro?? The cleaning guy that sells
snacks every recess??
GUILLERMO:
Yeah, him. What’s up with him??
JAVIER:
Well, he got killed. Brutally murdered. Security cameras
were broken.
GUILLERMO:
Jesus……You know what guys?? Fuck this whole mess. I’m not
gonna let anyone stop me. Now, what I’m gonna do is I’m
gonna grab that little shit, Marco, and trash his head with
a stone.
Marco is worried. And terrified. And scared. And worried.

All of that at the same time.

and terrified. He walks away.

We’re going down, to a theatre. We see a sign that says:
NOW SHOWING: THE GODFATHER
As we get down, we see a massive public entering.
INT – THEATRE ROOM
Sitting on seats, we see the public, part of them sitting,

and the other part, entering the room. On the stage, we see
a recreated production design of The Godfather.
On two seats, we see Marco and The Father, sitting.
THE FATHER:
Oh, I hope this would be great.
Marco looks front. He looks pale. The Father turns to him,

noticing his state.
THE FATHER:
Hey, is everything ok???
MARCO:
(Realizing)
What? Yeah. I’m fine. Everything is ok.
THE FATHER:
Good. Listen, I want you to know that if you have any
problem, you can talk to me. We can figure out a solution.
Ok??? I want you to know I’m here for you. Maybe your
brother is not, but I am here for you.
MARCO:
Thanks, dad.
Then, the lights go off. Show’s about to start. A light

illuminates the stage production.
Then, a narrator approaches.

INT – THE RED SHACK – 11 PM – LATER THAT NIGHT
Marco, quiet, opens the door of The Father’s room. He’s

sleeping.
Marco sighs in relief. He closes the door.
Marco then, slowly, quietly, opens the door of The

Brother’s room. He’s also sleeping.
Marco sigha in relief. He closes the door.
Marco exits the house, and stops, freezes, and looks at

Tamara’s house.
He walks away.

INT – BUS STATION
We see the bus, driving off. As it drives off, we see

Marco, standing on the bus station.
Out of his pocket, he grabs a lighter. He grabs from his

pocket a little box full of cigars.
As he puts one of the cigars in his mouth, and as he’s abut

to light it………he suddenly freezes.
Then, he throws the lighter away. He spits the cigar out of

his mouth, and drops the box to the ground. He steps on it.
He destroys it.
Marco’s official diet starts now.
He walks to:
THE STREET
Where he walks to:
INT – FLOWER SHOP
We see Marco, paying bucks for a pack of red flowers.
MARCO:
Thank you.
Then, Marco walks front to:
A CEMENTERY. The Vallenar Graveyard.
INT – VALLENAR GRAVEYARD
Marco, with the pack of red flowers, walks through the

quiet graveyard.
We see people, blessing on their beloved ones’s graves.

People delivering flowers to the graves of their beloved
ones. It’s like The Day of the Dead (Dia De Muertos).
Marco walks through.
Then, he stops and goes to a grave. He stands in front of

it.
He picks a blue bucket and fills it with water. Water from

a little spot, full of water.
He throws the water at the grave.
Then, he gets on his knees and puts the pack of red flowers
on the grave. The grave it’s from Carolina, Marco’s mom.
Marco starts clearing his throat.
MARCO:
Hi Mom. How are you doing??? I mean, I know you’re dead and
you can’t feel anything, but I hope things are……ok???
(Sighs)
Am I dead?? That’s why I’m not feeling anything this past
days???
(Silence)
Mom, you’re the one in the family that knows……Well……knew

Marco is sitting on an empty bus. His head is resting on

the window, as he looks the outside. The beautiful night
streets.
CUT TO:
INT – NEIGHBORHOOD – LATER
As Marco walks through his neighborhood, Tamara walks to

him.
TAMARA:
Hey.
MARCO:
Hi.
TAMARA:
I need to show you something.
MARCO:
Sure.
Both walk to Tamara’s house.
Both enter. Tamara stands in front of Marco.
Then, she grabs a piece of broken glass, and CUTS HERSELF

ON THE HAND. She grunts in pain.
MARCO:
What’re you doing?!?!? Stop!!!
But she can’t. She must show him. Then, she drops the
broken piece of glass, and it falls to the ground. Then,
she starts licking, and swallowing the blood coming from
her hand.
Then, she starts feeling weird. She falls to the ground and
gets on her knees, looking down. Both hands pressing the
ground.
Marco slowly approaches to her.
MARCO:
Are you ok???
Marco touches her head, but Tamara backs it away. Marco

starts backing away.
Then, THE TRANSFORMATION:
Tamara’s bones start crunching, as her hands are turning

pale, skinny. Then, her back starts getting pale, skinny
and monstruous. Her feet starts also get skinny.
MARCO:
(Scared)
Tamara………???
Then, Tamara looks at Marco: SHE’S GREEN EYED.
She stands up, and we see her true form: A PALE, SKINNY
MONSTER, and WITH GREEN EYES AND BIG POINTED TEETH. She
starts panting real hard.
Marco looks at her. But, he doesn’t look scared. He starts

admiring her. He doesn’t feel fear, but love.
Marco starts approaching slowly to her.
Marco could describe her by only one word. One. Word.
MARCO:
Amazing……
Then, as he approached to her, Tamara starts drying off his

tears. But they’re not sad tears, they are amazed tears.
Marco has never seen anything like it. Anything so
beautiful. Amazing. Powerful. Extraordinary. Full of life
and death at the same time. Marco smiles. He hugs her.
They’re embracing each other. Marco sighs in calm and
closes his eyes. Tamara also closes her eyes. They’re both
calm.
MARCO:
Amazing……
TAMARA: (O.S)

MARCO: (O.S)

CUT TO:
INT - TAMARA’S ROOM - LATER
Both youngsters are sitting on the bed.

blankets, slowly lays on the bed. MARCO, grey shirted, goes

They kiss with passion, like if it's the last time they'll
see each other again.
We turn and see the window, with the wind blowing the
curtains.
LATER: Marco stands up from bed, all dressed up. Tamara is

sleeping on the right side. Marco turns and looks at her
for one moment. He leaves.

INT – THE RED SHACK – MAIN ROOM – LATER THAT NIGHT
On the middle of the night, Marco quietly enters to the

house.
He sees the couch, and he sees nobody is sleeping there.
He quietly approaches to his room.
He checks on THE FATHER’S ROOM if THE FATHER is sleeping.

He is. He walks to The Brother’s room, where he doesn’t
sees him on bed. The bed is empty.
THE BROTHER:
Why did you left from home without telling???
Marco slowly turns and sees The Brother behind him.
MARCO:
What do you care???
THE BROTHER:
You went to see that girl again??
MARCO:
It’s none of your business.
THE BROTHER:
I care about you, you know that?? Brothers always do that.
(Silence; Marco turns and walks to his room)
And they also earn their trust.

And that’s it. That’s The Brother’s answer, well, at least,

not the full answer, but……

Then, he sighs and lets him go.

Marco closes the door of his room. He locks himself there.

The Brother walks to the bathroom.

Marco is sitting on a bus with not too many people. It’s

almost empty. Marco looks happy. He looks at the window and
sits next to it. He rests his head there. He is happy
because he already found true love.
INT – BACKYARD OF THE RED SHACK – MORNING
The Brother walks on the backyard, where there’s no grass,

just dirt.
Then, he steps on something. He looks down, and he sees

like a circular thing on the ground. He grabs it and drags
it off the grass: It’s a metal pole.
The Brother admires it.
He starts practicing with it: He practices how he will

punch someone with it.
Then, he looks front and sees The Father’s cop car.
The Brother smiles like a psychopath, he already decided

who his first victim is.
CUT TO:
INT - SCHOOL HALLWAY - LATER
MARCO walks happy. CRISTOBAL starts following him.

CRISTOBAL:

CRISTOBAL notices he is smiling.

We see a young girl, probably on her 20s, walking to an

apartment. She rings the bell of Room 34. RIIIIIIING. Then,
an adult voice is heard through the microphone.
ADULT VOICE:
(Coughing)
Yeah???
YOUNG GIRL:
It’s me. I’m here.
Then, A NOISE, as the door opens, and The Young Girl

enters.
We see Tamara, looking how The Young Girl enters.
As the door is about to close, Tamara’s arm stops it.
INT – ROOM 34
The Adult, a 30 something, probably 40, we don’t know his

age, approaches to the main door, and opens the door to The
Young Girl. The Adult is wearing a shirt that says
I LOVE QUISCO
But he’s wearing a white, office-like jacket to hide it.

Buttons unplugged.
THE ADULT:
You’ve arrived. Uhh, please come in. Feel comfortable. Feel
like in home.
The Young Girl steps in, and walks inside the room.
THE ADULT:
You like it??
YOUNG GIRL:
It’s……pretty.
THE ADULT:
Its home. Be free to walk around.
INT – BEDROOM
She walks to the bedroom. She looks at the bed.
Then, The Adult puts on her an okygen mask, those of the

hospitals where they get you high in operations. He puts
the mask on her on her mouth.
She tries to fight it, but she’s falling, succumbing to it.
THE ADULT:
Thaaaaat’s it. That’s it. Good girl.
FADE TO BLACK.
FADE TO:
BEDROOM
She is tied, looking up, to the bed. Both, Arms and legs,
tied.
She looks front and sees THE ADULT, probably ready to rape
her. He keeps the handcuffs keys on his pocket. The ones he
used to tie her.
YOUNG GIRL:
(Scared; shaking her head NO)
No, please don’t do it. Please no.
But it’s too late. The Adult climbs onto bed, as The Young
Girl screams in danger and fear.
The Adult tries to remove her pants.
THE ADULT:
I promise you won’t suffer. It will be like looking at
fireworks.
As he is done removing her pants, HE IS READY. She keeps

screaming. He slape her on the face.
Then, we hear a noise, something breaking.
The Adult looks back. He then belts his pants and walks out
of the bedroom.
INT – ROOM 34
The Adult walks through the room. He sees the next: The
main door is broken.
THE ADULT:
What the hell???
Then, A WILD TAMARA JUMPS ONTO HIM, ATTACKING HIM, AND

SCREAMING AND YELLING LIKE A WILD ANIMAL. THE ADULT SCREAMS
AND YELLS AS HE WALKS
TO:
INT – BEDROOM
Where he’s attacked by Tamara, while The Young Girl watches

in horror.
The Adult hits Tamara by knocking her on the wall. As she

releases a monstruous yell, she bites her in the neck. He
screams.
The Adult falls to the ground, probably dead. He looks up,

face splattered with blood.
Tamara stops and looks at him.
THE ADULT:
What are you???
TAMARA:
I don’t know. Nobody, I guess.
THE ADULT:
What’re you gonna do to me???
Tamara can’t answer that. She grbs his head by his hair.
THE ADULT:
Please, don’t. Don’t kill me.
Tamara whispers to his ear, words that he’ll never forget.
TAMARA:
I’m sorry, but as you can see, I’m really……
(Eyes turn orange)
……hungry.
Then, she knocks his head on the ground so strongly. The

Adult is dead.
The Young Girl pants in fear and shock and horror.
Then, Tamara stands up, and slowly approaches to The Young

Girl.
YOUNG GIRL:
No, please don’t, please no.
As Tamara approaches to her, The Young Girl tries savagely

to release from the handcuffs. But she can’t.
As Tamara approach to her tied feet, The Young Girl is

beyond scared.
Then, after a moment of intensity:
Tamara grabs from her hand, the keys from The Adult, the
same he used to tie her on the bed, and she releases the
cuffs from the young girl’s feet. Something she’d never
done before.
She uncuffs the young girl’s feet, then approaches to her

arm, and uncuffs her arm. Then, to the other arm, who she
uncuffs. The Young Girl is impressed and shocked and
confused.
TAMARA:
Go……Go!!! Leave!!!
The Young Girl, inmmediatly gets up from bed and puts her
pants on.
Tamara goes to the window and sees cop cars apprcoaching to

the apartment.
The Young Girl walks off the apartment.
Tamara looks at her go.
TAMARA:
(Quietly)
You’re welcome……
She walks to The Adult.
INT – ROOM 34 – MOMENTS LATER
Policemen enter into the apartment. They point with guns

and with flashlights. They walk and enter to:
INT – BEDROOM
…where the policemen spot The Adult’s dead body, with a

river of blood coming off.
Then, a policeman points with his flashlight something

unexpected. He’s shocked.
We see on a wall a bloodied message:
I LOVE QUISCO
EXT – APARTMENT
STEADISHOT: We see The Young Girl, talking to some

policemen, as we go up. We still go up, and from an
apartment wall, there’s Tamara, watching the scene.
It starts raining. A thunderstorm. She climbs up.
The Young Girl looks at Tamara climb up the wall, but she
doesn’t dare to say anything.
CUT TO:
EXT – POLICE DEPARTMENT – LATER THAT NIGHT
It’s raining. A thunderstorm.
INT – POLICE DEPARTMENT – CONTINUOUS
THE FATHER, wearing a blue raincoat, is ready to go.
SIMON:
Headin’ off, chief??
THE FATHER:
Yeah, I just need a little bit of time with my family. Take
care of the station for me, will ya???
SIMON:
Yes sir. Good night.
THE FATHER:
Good night.
INT – THE FATHER’S CAR
We’re on the back seat, steadishot. We see The Father

entering the car. He turns it on and starts driving off the
station. He turns on the radio. He listens to La Consentida
by The Campos Brothers (Chilean traditional Music).
INT – FOREST – MINUTES LATER
The Father is driving through a forest.
The Father looks front, and stops the car.
INT – FOREST
The car stops and screeches. The Father gets down the car,
and closes the door.
From the trunk, we see The Father closing the door. Then,
we see a shadowing figure, getting up from the trunk.
INT – FOREST – CONTINUOUS
The Father approaches front and sees a tree cut in two. The
big remain of the tree is resting on the ground. While The
Father looks at the little piece, with smoke coming out of
it. Looks like a thunder just impacted the tree.
The Father sighs. This is not his day. Then, he grabs from
the ground a leaf, impacted by the thunder, it has smoke
coming out of it.
As he grabs it, he stands up. Then, we see the same

shadowing figure, with the metal pole on his hand. The door
is open.
The shadowing figure runs to The Father, and as soon as The

Father turns, the shadowing figure hits him with the pole
on the head.
The Father screams in pain, as the shadowing figure hits

him again, now on the back. The shadowing figure grabs The
Father by the raincoat and throws him on the back, making
him fall to the ground.
As The Father grunts in pain as he falls to the ground on

his back, he sees the shadowing figure approaching to him.
Then, on a thunderlight, we get to see who this shadowing

figure is: IT’S THE BROTHER, ALREADY TURNED INTO AN
OBSESSIVE PSYCOPATH.
THE FATHER:
Son???
THE BROTHER:
Hi……Dad……
THE FATHER:
What’re you doing?? I think you should send me to a
hospital.
THE BROTHER:
No. I don’t want to. The party is already starting.
The Father, scared, gets up and runs to the car. But The
Brother hits him with the pole, on the left leg. The Father
yells in pain as he falls to the ground.
The Brother approaches and hits him again, now on the other
leg. The Father yells harder, and harder in pain.
Then, The Brother grabs him by the raincoat and drags him.
The Father screams of pain. He can’t move his legs. They’re
broken.
INT – FOREST PLACE
The Brother drags The Father through a puddle of water and

rain.
Then, he stops. He looks at The Father.

THE FATHER:
Please……Please. Why are you doing this?!?! WHY ARE YOU
DOING THIS?!?!?
THE BROTHER:
Do you even remember??
A beat.
THE BROTHER:
Do you remember the names you called me when you were
angry??? All the punishments you made to me, and made me
did??? Do you even remember that one time, that one fucking
time when you told me that I was a mess and you were very
sorry I was born??
A beat. The Father thinks.
THE BROTHER:
Do you even remember?!?!?
Then, he stabs The Father with the pole. The Father screams
in an unimaginable pain.
Then, The Brother grabs the pole and cleans the blood of
where he stabbed The Father.
Then, The Brother points the pole at The Father’s head.
THE FATHER:
Son……please……
THE BROTHER:
Oh, do you have something to say?!? Come on, say it!!! Do
you have anything to say……Bob?!?!?
A beat. It is revealed that The Father’s real name is Bob.
THE FATHER:
Please……
But The Brother can’t listen. He still points the pole, now
on the side of The Father’s head. He’s about to kill him.
THE FATHER:
Please, no……I beg you……
THE BROTHER:
I’m sorry daddy. I have a job to do and that is keeping
this family……
THE FATHER:
Please……
THE BROTHER:

Then, The Brother hits The Father with the pole so hard.
As soon as he hits him, WE

INT – NEIGHBORHOOD – LATER THAT NIGHT
On the neighborhood, it’s raining. We see a shadowing young

figure walking. It’s Tamara, walking home from a killing
night.
She has her hoodie on her. Her face is still splattered

with blood. She is cold. She has her arms around her,
covering herself from the cold.
Then, she stops and sees The Red Shack, one light is on.
She walks to the entrance.
INT – THE RED SHACK
We hear the hair dryer, as we see the bathroom door open,

with water vapor dissolving.
We slowly walk and see Marco on the bathroom. He’s drying

his hair. He’s wearing a long grey shirt. He just got a
shower.
He turns the hair dryer off. He exits the bathroom. He

turns off the lights of the bathroom.
Then, he, and we, hear knocking on the door. Marco

realizes, as he approaches to the entrance. He opens the
door. He realizes its Tamara. He’s surprised. He never saw
her like that.
MARCO:
(Surprised)
Hi.
TAMARA:
Hi. Uhh, can i……Can you let me……You know…
MARCO:
Do you want me to let you in??
TAMARA:
Yeah. Can I stay?? It’ll be only for a while, then you’ll
never see me through the rest of the night.
MARCO:
I don’t know. I mean, I would want to do it, but……My
brother’s out there, and if he finds out I have a girl in
my house……
TAMARA:
(Understanding)
Oh, ok. I get it. I’ll quit being a problem to you. Good
night.
She walks out. Marco then closes the door. Then, rests his
back on the door. He’s thoughtful. Then, he opens the door
again.
MARCO:
Yes!!!
Tamara stops and turns.
MARCO:
You can stay here for the night.
TAMARA:
Really?
MARCO:
Really.
Tamara approaches, happy.
She enters to the house. Marco closes the door. He looks at

her, her face splattered with red blazing fiering blood.
MARCO:
Jesus, looks like you had such an adventure today, huh??
He then realizes something important.
MARCO:
Wait here.
Tamara stays there, as Marco runs to
HIS ROOM
He starts searching some clothes on his wardrobe. He runs

back to……
THE MAIN ROOM
…where he hands the clothes to Tamara.
MARCO:
Here.
TAMARA:
(Accepting the clothes)
Why do you give me this??
MARCO:
Well, it’s cold outside, and you look cold and to keep you
warm, I’d like to recommend you to give yourself a shower.
I’ll start it up.
Marco walks to the bathroom.
INT – BATHROOM
Marco starts the shower. He puts his hand there to verify

if it’s warm enough. It’s getting warm.
Then, he realizes it’s warm.
MARCO:
That’ll do it.
He aparts his hand.
EXT – BATHROOM – THE RED SHACK
Marco walks to Tamara.
MARCO:
Alright, it’s all set. There’s towels inside if you want to
get dry when you’re done.
TAMARA:
Seriously, why are you being so nice to me??
MARCO:
Cause you’re being nice to me.
Both smile to each other. Tamara enters to the bathroom,

and closes the door. Marco starts walking through the
house.
INT – BATHROOM
We see only Tamara’s feet as she takes her clothes off.
ON THE BATHUB
Tamara approaches and starts washing her face on the

shower. She closes her eyes. She puts her hands on her
face. She looks at them: Blood washed hands. She looks at

them with worrying.
Then, she washes them off on the water, and she starts
washing her face with her hands on her face.
ON THE GROUND ANGLE – We see Tamara’s naked legs, as blood

starts falling from her body (back, chest, head), to the
ground. The bathub ground is starting to get filled with
red washed blood.
INT – MAIN ROOM
Marco starts walking around, worried.
MARCO:
(To himself)
This is crazy. Am I crazy?? No, this is crazy. I have a
girl in my house, and she’s taking a shower. Who does
that?? No one does that.
He starts looking at the bathroom door. He hears Tamara has

done showering herself.
TAMARA:
(On Bathroom)
Marco???
MARCO:
Yeah???
TAMARA:
(On Bathroom)
I have no towels.
MARCO:
I can get you towels.
He stands up and goes to
HIS ROOM
where not only he has clothes but also towels. He grabs

one, he approaches to the door of the bathroom. He knocks
on the door.
MARCO:
I got them.
TAMARA:
(On bathroom)
Stay there, look away!!!
Marco does. He looks away. Eyes wide open.
TAMARA:
(On bathroom)
It’s ok if you’re watching.
MARCO:
Trust me, I’m not!!!
She opens the door, covering her nude body. He presents the
towels while looking away. She accepts them. Happy.
TAMARA:
Thanks.
MARCO:
Sure.
She goes back in. She closes the door. Marco looks at the
door.
Marco sighs and walks and sits on a chair of the dining

room table. He looks down.
INT – BATHROOM
Tamara is putting on a shirt. Her hair is trapped on the

back and she releases it.
INT – DINING ROOM
Marco is still looking down.

Then, out of the bathroom, we see a well dressed Tamara,

coming out of the bathroom. Her hair is not dry. She
approaches to Marco. She sits with her.
TAMARA:
Is everything ok??
She can notice it from his face: he’s worried for

something, probably something not important right now.
MARCO:
I’m fine.
TAMARA:
Marco……
MARCO:
I’m not lying to you. I’m fine.
TAMARA:
You know you can tell me the truth. Is everything ok??
Marco then sighs.
MARCO:
You asked me once if I still lived with my mom.
TAMARA:
Mhm??
MARCO:
Well, how can I explain you this……
Silence. He’s ready to explain.
MARCO:
It was back, in August, months ago. We were living in
another town. We were going off a Family day. We went to
the theater. Then, she and my brother started arguing. And
then, a car just crashed on us.
(A beat; silence; Marco is getting teary)
Mom. She had glasses all over her face. She was bleeding.
But she wasn’t moving. I was scared. The next hour, we went
to the hospital. We were in the room.
Marco’s tears intensify.
MARCO:
And the machine beeped.
We can barely see it through his eyes. Her mom dying in the
hospital room.
MARCO:
A month later……A month later we moved here. We moved here
because this was the town where she grew up. We buried her
here, in the graveyard. And we never spoke about it.
Marco can’t talk. He’s too affected by it.
MARCO:
My brother……He thinks this was all my fault……He hates me……
Tamara wraps her arm around him.
TAMARA:
No, he doesn’t hate you. He just doesn’t know you, which is
different.
MARCO:
It’s not different. He hates me.
Marco keeps crying. Tamara closes her eyes.
TAMARA:
It’s ok. Hey. It’s fine.
Then, Tamara feels a pain on her stomach. She falls to the

ground.
MARCO:
(Worried)
Tamara??? Are you OK???
Marco gets up and goes to her.
TAMARA:
I’m fine. I’m just……
She grunts in pain as she has her hands on her stomach. She
opens her eyes. Her eyes are orange.
MARCO:
Oh, you’re hungry.
(Realizing)
Wait here……
Marco stands up and goes to the kitchen. He opens the

fridge and picks dozens of meats. He closes the fridge.
He approaches to Tamara with the meats.
MARCO:
Here you go.
TAMARA:
(Accepting the meats)
What’s this??
MARCO:
Meats. I know, they’re cold. I can heat them up if you
want.
Tamara opens the meats and after taking a bite of one, she
starts eating the rest of the meat.
MARCO:
Oh ok.
Tamara sits on the ground, so as Marco, who sits in front

of her.
Marco looks at her eating.
Tamara realizes. She stops.
TAMARA:
Doesn’t this make you feel weird??
MARCO:
No, I totally understand.
Tamara looks down.

MARCO:
Is everything ok??
TAMARA:
(Looking front)
Yeah?? Everything is fine. Why??
MARCO:
You look worried.
TAMARA:
Everything is fine, ok??
MARCO:
Tamara……you know you can talk to me. You know I won’t tell
anybody if you tell me. Now, is everything wrong??
Tamara sighs and still looks down. She looks at Marco and
tries to explain herself.
TAMARA:
That night, where you asked me if I still lived with my
dad.
MARCO:
Uh-huh?
TAMARA:
Well, I was lying. My dad died……the night you arrived
here…But…He wasn’t just an ordinary dad……
MARCO:
Bad??
TAMARA:
Worse. On nights, he used to come home, telling how many
women he would like to abuse.
FLASHBACK.
INT – TAMARA’S HOUSE – MONTHS AGO
Tamara’s dad is about to hit Tamara, who’s crying, sitting

on the ground.
BACK TO SCENE.
INT – MAIN ROOM
TAMARA:
And he always said how much he hated me. He……
(Getting teary)
He always came home from the bar……and he always hurted me,
punched me. He made me scars.
She turns and gets her shirt up, revealing on her nude
back, a scar. Marco is shocked about it.
MARCO:
(Shocked)
Jesus.
He slowly approaches to the scar, and as he starts touching

it, Tamara starts grunting in pain. Marco realizes, and
with worry and fear, backs off.
MARCO:
Sorry.
Tamara lets go of her shirt, looks back at Marco.
TAMARA:
And that night, when you arrived……
FLASHBACK.
We’re revisiting the same scene from the beginning. Marco

and his family moving to The Red Shack. On the outide of
the house, we see a shadowing figure: That’s HER!!!
INT – TAMARA’S HOUSE – FLASHBACK
Tamara’s dad was looking at her, looking at the window.
He approaches drunk to her.
TAMARA: (V.O)
Also, because of him I couldn’t get out of the house. I
couldn’t go to school.
Tamara’s dad starts grabbing her arm, she turns scared and
tries to escape from him, but he holds her and throws her
to the ground. He’s ready to rape her. She starts
screaming.
BACK TO SCENE.
INT – MAIN ROOM
TAMARA:
(Tears intensifying)
In that night, he tried to……He tried to……
FLASHBACK.
As Tamara’s dad holds her violently and strongly, she bites

one of his fingers, making him scream. Then, she starts
attacking her dad……the way she attacks her victims……
Tamara’s dad is lying on the ground. He’s screaming as

Tamara starts feeding on him.
TAMARA: (V.O)
I did what I had to do……There was no other choice……
END OF FLASHBACK.
BACK TO SCENE.
INT – MAIN ROOM
Tamara’s tears start intensifying.
Marco approaches and starts hugging her. She keeps crying.
MARCO:
It’s ok. It’s fine.
TAMARA:
Would you do it to me??
MARCO:
What??
TAMARA:
What my dad was about to do to me……
MARCO:
What are you talking about?? No. Do you really think I’m
that kind of person??
TAMARA:
No.
MARCO:
Then, why are you asking that??
TAMARA:
I don’t know.
(They apart)
No reason.
Silence.
TAMARA:
Truth is I was born with the devil’s gifts. I can’t just
hold hunger. It’s what’s killing me. But the truth is I’m
just a girl. It’s impossible for me to be anyone else.
She starts drying off her tears.
Then, Marco’s watch start beeping. He realizes.
MARCO:
Oh no. You must go.
TAMARA:
Why??
MARCO:
This is the hour where my dad comes home from work, and if
he catches you here……
TAMARA:
(Realizing)
Oh, right.
Both stand up. Marco picks up the meats. He hands them to

Tamara.
MARCO:
Here.
But Tamara doesn’t want to accept them. She shakes her head
NO.
MARCO:
Ok.
(Puts the meats in the table, then turns to her)
So, see you tomorrow??
Tamara shakes her head, again NO.
MARCO:
Ok, another day??
Again. She does the same.
MARCO:
(Convinced)
Alright. When??
TAMARA:
I can’t. I just can’t.
MARCO:
Why not??
TAMARA:
This town, they’re all searching for me.
MARCO:
Tamara, what’re you saying??
TAMARA:
(About to be heartbroken)
I have to leave the town.
Marco gets worried.
MARCO:
What??
TAMARA:
(Nods; sad)
I can’t stay here for long.
MARCO:
Why can’t you just hide in here??
TAMARA:
Look, it’s not up to you to decide!!! Ok?!?!? If they find
out I’m the one causing all of this, I’m dead!!!
Marco is worried. He’s heartbroken. He looks down.
TAMARA:
You know, you can run away with me, but……if they find out
that we’re fugitives, if they find out you’re with me,
we’re dead.
Marco then looks back at Tamara, convinced, he understands

it.
MARCO:
Alright. You want my advice??? Go. You can get out of here
and we both can pretend this never happened. I can be safe
in here, so you can be safe.
Tamara is heartbroken. Then, sniffs, and accepts what he’s

saying.
TAMARA:
Ok, then. We’ll do it your way.
Tamara turns and opens the door.
MARCO:
Tamara, please, listen……
He approaches to her.
MARCO:
Please, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to……
Too late. WHAM!!! She closes the door, strongly. Marco is
just frozen on there.
He sits on the ground, his head facing the door. He sighs.

He closes his eyes.
CUT TO:
EXT – TAMARA’S HOUSE
Inaudible. We hear a solemn, beautiful piece of music.
We see Marco knocking the door of Tamara’s house, as she

yells her name. But no answer. He then walks through the
outside of the house and sees a window open.
INT – ROOM
Marco enters through that window, and realizes he’s on

Tamara’s room. He sees on the ground, something that
devastates him.
We turn to the ground and see thrown pages on the ground.
Marco gets on her knees and picks them up and sees them:
THE PAGES ARE THE POETRY MARCO SENDED TO HER.
He flips through page, through page, through page, and

comes to the final page: The first poetry he wrote:
"Ashes of Desire" by Christy Ann Martine.
Marco realizes and stands up.

He walks through the entire house. He sees no signal of

her, as he keeps yelling and screaming her name.
CUT TO:
INT – MARCO’S ROOM – DAY – A WEEK LATER
Marco is sitting on the ground, worried and teary. The

solemn music is over, finished.
THE BROTHER: (O.S)

Marco??? Hey.
Marco dries his tears. The Brother approaches, but we don’t

see his face. He has a plate of yogurt with cereal.
THE BROTHER:
I thought we were changing plans today and have dessert
before dinner.
Marco looks at The Brother: He’s shaved. Remember when The

Brother had this small mustache??? Well, he shaved.
THE BROTHER:
Would you like yogurt with cereal??
Marco still looks at him.
THE BROTHER:
Alright, then, I’ll put it here.
(Puts the plate on a furniture close to Marco)
So it won’t be that messy.
The Brother looks at Marco.
THE BROTHER:
Is everything ok??
No answer.
THE BROTHER:
Listen, if you are wondering for dad, well, he’s on a trip

to another country. He forgot to tell you, but he told me
to tell you.
Silence.
THE BROTHER:
Listen, I’m sorry for the way I behaved before. I’m sorry

MARCO:

He turns to the door, and as he’s about to FULL open it,

THE BROTHER approaches and shuts the door with his hand.

MARCO:

I just finished making dinner, and you want to escape just

MARCO:
I’m just going outside.
Marco opens the door, The Brother shuts it with his hand,
again.
MARCO:

THE BROTHER:
I don’t want you to go outside.
MARCO:
Ok, why?? Why don’t you want me to go outside?!? Because of
you, I don’t have friends, and you know what??? They’re my
real family more than you!!!
The Brother’s anger intensifies.
THE BROTHER:
Why don’t you just close the door and come to dinner??
MARCO:
(Softly)
No.
THE BROTHER:
Huh?!?!?
The Brother takes Marco’s hand and start to squeeze it,

harder and harder.
THE BROTHER:
What’d you said to me???
MARCO:
I SAID NO!!!!!!
Then, Marco punches the shit out of The Brother.
The Brother lets go, and Marco opens the door. Then, The
Brother grabs Marco and starts to strangle him, dragging
him back inside. The Brother closes and locks the door,
making Marco’s way out impossible. Marco tries savagely to
get out, but he can’t. The Brother’s strength is stronger
than Marco’s.
Marco starts coughing, and getting red.
THE BROTHER:
You’re not going anywhere. Now, I’m gonna ask you, for the
last time……
Marco is about to grab a glass beer bottle on a furniture.
THE BROTHER:
Why don’t you just come to dinner???
MARCO:
(Strangled)
No……
THE BROTHER:
Huh?!?!?
MARCO:
No……No……NO!!!!!!
Marco grabs the glass beer bottle, and smashes it right on

The Brother’s head. He yells as he lets Marco go.
Marco runs back to

INT. MARCO'S ROOM.
Marco locks the door. He runs quickly to the Window, but it

can't get open.
MARCO:
Goddamn it!!!
As he tries to open it, he can't. Then, as he tries harder

to open the window...
BAM!!! Marco turns, frightened, to the door, where we hear

banging.
EXT. MARCO'S ROOM.
We see The BROTHER, already turned into a psychopath, his

head with blood coming out of it. He's hitting the door
with a hammer.
THE BROTHER:
C'mon, lil brotha!!!
BAM!!!
THE BROTHER:
We can fix this situation like I promised.
INT. MARCO'S ROOM.
As MARCO is frightened, and he doesn't know what to do, he

tries to exit the house on the window, but it's still
locked.
MARCO:
COME ON!!! I. Fucking. Hate. You...
BAM!!! Another hit of a Hammer.
As MARCO looks frightened to the door, he gets from his

drawer, a KITCHEN KNIFE.
He runs to the entrance. Ready. To. Attack. Or. Die.

Trying. It.
But his brother is stronger. The hammer he's using is

stronger.
Marco is beyond scared. As he looks at the Window, and

LOOKS to his door, he runs to the window.
THE BROTHER finally breaks the door with his hammer.
He's smiling and laughing like a psychopathic maniac.
He unlocks the door from the inside of the room.
As he enters, he sees the window is open.
He still smiles.
He's so creepy-LOOKING.
As he approaches slowly...
THE BROTHER:
Oh, Romeo, Romeo, where the hell did you went to??? You
went to see Juliet??? You disgraced our family's bond??? MY
bond???
...we turn and see MARCO IS HIDING DOWN THE BED, MOUTH
COVERED. HE'S WATCHING HIS BROTHER SLOWLY WALKING TO THE
WINDOW. WHAT A SMART TRAP.
Oh, Romeo, Romeo, come out, come out wherever you
aaaaare....
Then, as THE BROTHER looks at the Window and sees nothing,

he turns, and MARCO HITS HIM WITH A BROKEN FURNITUE PIECE.
The Brother falls to the groud. Marco runs to the entrance,
but The Brother grabs his leg, making Marco to slip and
fall to the ground.
THE BROTHER:
Please……Stay with me……Do not go to her!!! I beg you!!!
Please!!!
MARCO:
Let me go!!!
THE BROTHER:
Please!!!
MARCO:
LET. ME. FUCKING. GO!!!!!!
Marco kicks The Brother on the head, making him fall

unconscious.
Marco stands up and runs…
INT – MAIN ROOM
…to the main door. He starts unlocking the locks. He

finally opens the door.
Marco finally runs out of the house. Then, he hears noises

from inside. He runs away.
INT – FOREST
ANGLE AND FOCUS ON A BEER CAN – It blows up!!!
Then, we see Guillermo, with his father’s gun on his hand.

He shot the can. He’s with Javier and Franco, chilling.
JAVIER:
Yeah!!!
FRANCO:
That’s what I’m fucking talking about!!!
INT – OTHER PLACE OF FOREST
Marco doesn’t stop running. He stops and pants, looking at

the ground.
INT – FOREST
The three bullies keep laughing.
Then, Guillermo hears something.

GUILLERMO:
Shh!! Guys!!!
They stop laughing.
JAVIER:
What is it, man??
Guillermo slowly approaches and walks. And he sees Marco,

panting, looking down.
Marco turns to Guillermo, who smiles.
GUILLERMO:
Hey there, princess.
Marco starts running to another direction. The three

bullies start chasing him. Javier goes on another
direction.
INT – LITTLE CLIFF
Close to a little cliff, we see Marco running, as Franco

and Guillermo keep chasing him. There’s a fallen tree in
which people can sit.
FRANCO:
Ah!! My leg!!!
GUILLERMO:
Just keep running!!! Do not fucking stop!!!
But they keep running to him. Javier appears from the

front.
Marco stops.
MARCO:
Ah, shit!!!
As Marco turns, Guillermo, Franco, and also Javier grab

him.
MARCO:
Let me go!!! Let me go you fucking bastards!!!
Then, they launch him onto the little cliff.
UNDERWATER.
Marco brutally enters into the water. He swims to the

surface.
SURFACE
Marco gets on the surface, and as he swims to an edge and

is about to stand up, Guillermo runs to him and hits him,
making him to fall to the water. Guillermo grabs him by the
hair, and puts his legs on his stomach.
GUILLERMO:
Listen here. I wanted to do this the hard way. I guess
we’ll do this the easy way. I’ll just simply do this. We’re
gonna verify how many time you get your head underwater. If
you win, we’ll let you go. If you lose, you’ll swim with
the fishes and piranhas.
(Silence)
Well Rattie Boy, road for the cheese ends now.
Guillermo violently puts Marco’s head underwater.
UNDERWATER.
Marco is being forced, as he tries to let go. But he can’t.
He’s trapped. He ran onto a trap. He ran from his enemy,
and comes face-to-face with an even worse enemy.
SURFACE.
Guillermo looks intensified. His anger is beyond

intensified.
Javier just watches, and Franco sits on the fallen tree,

and lights up a cigar.
UNDERWATER.
Marco is still forced. He’s starting to lose his strength.

SURFACE.
Javier approaches to Guillermo.
JAVIER:
Guille……
GUILLERMO:
What??
JAVIER:
Listen, why don’t we just let him go, ok? We’ll do this
another day---
GUILLERMO:
Shut up……
JAVIER:
Dude, I’m serious. It’s getting late. If they find out that
we’re here, making this kida shit---
GUILLERMO:
SHUT UP!!! SHUT UP OR I SWEAR YOU’LL BE THE NEXT ONE!!! I
SWEAR!!!
Both Franco and Javier are stunned because of his words.

They are on silence. Guillermo turns to Marco.
UNDERWATER.
Marco is about to pass out. Not die. Pass out. He starts

closing his eyes.
SURFACE.
Guillermo is starting to get shocked. He checks Marco’s

pulse. He’s not reacting. He gets shocked.
GUILLERMO:
Oh fuck!! Fuck.
He backs away, scared, and frightened.
GUILLERMO:
This is it. I fucking got him.
Then, he starts pushing Marco’s body to the underwater.
UNDERWATER.
Marco’s body slowly falls to the deep underwater. Little

Eyes open, bubbles coming from his mouth.
SURFACE.
Little blood drops start falling on Franco’s shoulder. He

realizes and looks at them. He wonders and looks up. Its
tree leafs, with blood on them. It’s what’s causing the
blood drops.
Franco looks away and looks at someone. He’s surprised.
UNDERWATER.
Marco’s body keeps falling. Then, on the surface, we and he

hears something unexpected. We hear screaming, shouting and
yelling. We see gunshots being fired. Marco already landed
on the deep. He starts to look up.
ON MARCO’S VIEW.
About to pass out, we start to blink and fall asleep.
UNDERWATER.
Falling on the water, we see a ripped off arm. The arm is

holding a gun. It’s falling to the deep, close to Marco.
We hear attacks and the three bullies screaming, and we

also see clouds of billowing red blazing blood falling to
the deep.
ON MARCO’S VIEW.
We’re about to pass out as we see the clouds of red blazing

billowing blood to fall on the deep.
Then, we see a shadowing person, who jumped to the little

cliff. He’s swimming to Marco.
His eyes close. Black screen.
Then, we fade to the same place, but we see things

differently:
We are being dragged up. As we turn down, we see the blood

going down.
We are dragged up, to the
SURFACE.
And we’re being dragged to the edge of the little cliff. It

started raining.
We see Marco, put on an edge, to rest. Then, he gets down,

on his knees and his hands pressing the ground. He then
starts coughing strongly. He coughs water.
He turns and sees Guillermo approaching to him, he’s

worried. He’s the one who rescued Marco.
GUILLERMO:
Are you ok???
Guillermo gets on his knees.
GUILLERMO:
Good, you’re ok. Let me help you.
Marco realizes. Then……
MARCO:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
He hits Guillermo with a stone he grabbed when he was

pressing the ground. Guillermo falls to the ground. Marco
approaches to him. He starts punching Guillermo with his
fists on his face.
MARCO:
I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!! KILL YOU!!!!!
GUILLERMO:
Stop, please, stop!!! I beg you please!!! I don’t want to

die.
Marco then stops.
GUILLERMO:
Please. She came and killed my friends!!! I don’t want to
be the next!!!
A beat to Marco. After one week, she’s finally back to him.

He wonders and backs away. He has turned into a killer,
poisoned with revenge.
GUILLERMO:
Please, I’m sorry. For everything I did, I’m sorry.
Marco realizes. He stands up.
Then, he grabs a stone, and gets down to Guillermo.
MARCO:
Promise me that you won’t chase me and bully me anymore.
Say it.
Guillermo is traumatized. Why does he want to forgive this

fake poor soul??
Marco hits the ground with the stone, close to Guillermo,

just to scare him out.
He grabs the stone, and aims it at Guillermo, ready to

attack if he doesn’t answer correctly.
MARCO:
Say it!!!
GUILLERMO:
(Softly; traumatized)
I promise……
MARCO:
Huh?!?!?
GUILLERMO:
I promise.
Marco backs away.
Guillermo stands up and runs away.
Then, Guillermo flips and falls to the ground. Then, Tamara

approaches: She’s now transforming into the monster.
She has bullet wounds, with blood coming off. She touches
the wound and as she aparts the hand, not only is the wound
cured, but she has the bullets on her hand.
Guillermo stands up, impressed.
GUILLERMO:
Shit…You can’t die…
Then, Tamara slaps him, as Guillermo turns, we see claw

marks, being formed on his neck. She scratched his neck.
Blood starts coming off, as Guillermo touches it. As he
walks back, he slips and he falls to the little cliff. To
the deep.
Marco then, feels weird and falls to the ground.
He looks up, rain falling to his face.
Then, he sees a shadowing figure, approaching to him,

looking at him. It stops approaching and comes face to face
with it.
MARCO:
Wait……Wait……
Then, as the shadowing figure is about to do something……
WE:
CUT TO:
UNDERWATER.
We see Guillermo, with blood floating up to the surface,

coming out of his neck wound, falling slowly to the deep.
As he sees someone leaving, Guillermo already dies, not

only because of the injury, he dies of drowning.
He falls slowly to the dark deep.
SMASH TO BLACK.
SMASH TO:
A ROOM.
Marco wakes up, like waking up from a nightmare. He wakes

up in a bed. He looks around. This is not his house.
He is wearing his grey long shirt. About to be dawn.
We discover it’s
TAMARA’S ROOM
He gets up.
Marco starts walking around, and he sees Tamara, watching

on a window, checking if someone is not spying them.
She turns to Marco. She doesn’t look happy. Marco is ready

to explain.
MARCO:
Listen, I……
TAMARA:
It’s ok. You don’t have to explain yourself.
She looks upset, probably of what happened between them a

week ago. Their argument.
MARCO:
Please, I just want to say……
TAMARA:
Look, I know what you’re gonna say. I know. I’m the one
that’s supposed to say sorry. I shouldn’t say that to you.
MARCO:
It’s ok. What matters is that you’re still here.
Marco approaches to her, and hugs her. They embrace each

other.
TAMARA:
As soon as we have enough time, and if there’s nobody
chasing us, we go. And we never go back.
MARCO:
Promise??
TAMARA:
(Nods yes)
Promise.
They keep embracing each other.
CUT TO:
INT – NEIGHBORHOOD – DAWN
We go back and see a pale early bird person: It’s The

Brother, standing straight, looking at Tamara’s house. The
Brother has his blood cleaned up. He still has the hammer
on his hand.
INT – TAMARA’S ROOM – CONTINUOUS
Tamara sleeps on the left side. She slowly wakes up and

spots a note on the other side of the bed, she grabs it and
looks at it. It has a message on it:
Went to the store to buy stuff. I also went to buy meat.

Just so you know – Marco
She smiles.
Then, we hear a knock on the main door. She wonders and

gets up.
INT – MAIN ROOM

She walks to the main door, and through the door hole, she
gets scared: Through the door hole we see The Brother,
knocking on the door.
She locks the door.
EXT – TAMARA’S HOUSE
The Brother realizes and backs away, then runs to the door
and……
INT – MAIN ROOM
……kicks it harder and stronger. Tamara gasps and gets

scared. She runs somewhere to hide.
Then, The Brother opens the door with dozens of kicks.
He slowly approaches to the house, and starts walking,

searching for Marco.
INT – ROOM
He still walks, in search of Marco. No answer. Then, he

hears something behind him. He quickly turns. He walks
behind him.
INT – OTHER ROOM
He still walks. He’s approaching to Tamara’s room. He

approaches slowly. Then, stops, a beat to him. Then,
continues walking slowly.
As he approaches to the door, he tries to open it. But it’s

locked. He aparts his hand from the doorknob.
Then, he starts kicking the door with his leg. Dozens, and
dozens, and dozens of time, until finally……
INT – TAMARA’S ROOM

……BAM!!! He opens the door. He starts walking to Tamara’s

room. He doesn’t see a sign of Marco.
INT – CLOSET
Tamara is hidden there, scared, on her knees. She can see

that The Brother is searching for both of them.
Then, The Brother opens the closet’s door. Tamara gasps in

fear.
The Brother smiles like a psychopath.
THE BROTHER:
Well well well. Look who we have here. Hey there girl, you
alone?? Is your Romeo home??
Tamara gasps, and exits the Closet.
INT – ROOM
As Tamara tries to exit the closet, The Brother, without

mercy, holds her strongly. He drops her to the ground,
ready to rape and kill her. He holds her there. The Brother
puts her hand on her face.
THE BROTHER:
Awww, you try to strike back. Aren’t you a pretty thing---?
As he says thing, Tamara bites one of The Brother’s fingers

of the left hand. The Brother screams in pain and in
ghoulish horror.
Tamara kicks The Brother, to escape. The Brother falls to

the ground.
Then, Tamara, on her knees and hands pressing the ground,

spits The Brother’s ripped off finger. She runs somewhere
else. The Brother looks at her go.
THE BROTHER:
OH, YOU HORRIBLE FUCKING BRAT!!!!
INT – ROOM
As Tamara tries to run to the entrance, she runs through a

room, scared, with panic, frightened, all of that at the
same time.
INT – MAIN ROOM
As she’s about to run to the entrance, The Brother runs to

her and grabs her, making her fall to the ground. He holds
her there. She can’t strike back. He’s tronger than her.
THE BROTHER:
I told you. I told you to stay away from my little brother.
I did’t wanted to do this the bad way.
(Aiming hammer)
Now……Looks like we’re gonna have to do it the easy way
then.
Tamara is scared. She tries to exit, but she can’t.
The Brother is ready to kill her.
THE BROTHER:
Don’t worry. It won’t hurt much. And as soon as I’m done
with you, I’m gonna kill your precious Romeo. Got it??
Romeo and Juliet, sharing the same grave.
TAMARA:
(Scared)
No……NO!!!
As The Brother is ready to attack……
Then, BAM!!! Someone hit The Brother on the head. The

Brother freezes and touches his ear: It’s bleeding. Then,
another hit, on his back. The Brother falls to the ground,
then, we see who did it: Marco, holding the same pole that
killed father.
The Brother looks at Marco, finally defending himself,

entering the room. Tamara backs away.
As The Brother tries to stand up, Marco hits him strongly

on the leg. Then, the other. The Brother exclaims in pain.
But Marco is doing the same thing The Brother did to The
Father.
The Brother drags his broken body and rests on a wall.
Marco slowly approaches, preparing to kill him. Tamara

stands up and watches the scene.
The Brother then laughs. Probably his last laugh.
THE BROTHER:
(Hurt)
Who do you think you are, huh Marco?? You think you’re
special?? Huh?? You really think that killing me, kicking
me to death is gonna change the world as you know it??
Well, lemme tell you something: It won’t work.
(Beat)
It won’t bring him back.
Marco stops and freezes for a second.
THE BROTHER:
I’ll never forget the screams he did. He begged for his
life, you know. He begged to be saved.
Marco realizes: THE BROTHER IS THE FATHER’S CAUSE OF HIS

DISSAPEARANCE. HE’S THE CAUSE OF HIS DEATH.
Marco gets worried.
The Brother realizes and laughs.
THE BROTHER:
(Laughing)
Oh, you didn’t knew it right?? You’re holding the same
thing that killed him.
The Brother laughs uncontrollably.
As Marco is ready to attack, The Brother falls to the

ground.
Marco freezes. Then, The Brother’s forehead starts

bleeding. Blood falls everywhere in his head: Eyes, nose,
mouth, ears. He’s broken. Then, he says his last words, his
final words……
THE BROTHER:
Family……
Then, he opens his mouth and doesn’t move anymore. Marco

approaches and takes his pulse. It’s not beating.
That’s it everybody. Mercy killing. The Brother: Is dead.
Marco backs away, and drops the pole.
Then, he approaches to Tamara and hugs her.
They embrace.
MARCO:
It’s over. It’s over. It’s ok. I’m here. I’m here.
Tamara starts crying.
TAMARA:
He tried to……He tried to……
They still embrace. Marco calms her down.
MARCO:
I know, I know. It’s ok. It’s over. I got you now. I got
you.
TAMARA:
(Crying)
Marco……
MARCO:
It’s ok. It’s fine. It’s over. He is not alive, not
anymore.
They separate and look at each other. Inaudible. A swelling

music is sounding. Marco is talking to her. She nods.
Both exit the house, then, we get down and see an angle of
the pole, with blood splattered on it.
CUT TO:
INT – BACKYARD – THE RED SHACK – MINUTES LATER
Marco walks on the backyard. There’s no grass. Just yellow

grass. You know, dryed grass. Anyway……
He’s walking through the backyard and then notices

something unsettling. Something unexpected.
He approaches to it: It’s a black jacket example, buried

underground.
He gets on his knees and drags the black jacket example:

IT’S A BLACK JACKET.
It looks familiar to him. Then, checks the owner of it:
BOB MARQUEZ, CHIEF

Marco realizes. Then, he gets up. He’s devastated because
of the death of his father.
Tamara approaches from behind. Then, he starts crying.

Tamara starts comforting him, and he turns and embraces
her. They’re both embracing each other.
A swelling music is sounding.
It’s over. It’s finally over. The final battle. The selfish
and overpreotective big brother is finally dead. Forever,
we might think it so.
Finally, and for the first time ever, Marco is free. He’s
finally released.
He found a way out. By losing his family, he found a way

out.
SMASH TO BLACK:
SMASH TO:
THE NIGHT
We see the stars shining, and we go down and see we’re

outside of a Bus Station.
EXT – BUS STATION
Waiting in a line to the bus to exit the town, there’s

Marco and Tamara, together. They’re leaving.
Then, Marco sees on the street, Cristobal. They share

stares. They nod to each other. Cristobal leaves without
saying anything.
Then, the line start moving.
INT – BUS
We move slowly as we see people entering the bus. Then, we

turn and see on the left side, Marco and Tamara, sitting.
Marco is looking at the window, while Tamara is resting her
head on his shoulder.
Then, next thing we hear is the thing Marco and Tamara said
when they were sleeping together in her bed.
MARCO: (O.S)
But, where are we going?
TAMARA: (O.S)
I don’t know. Probably to a far place, where they can’t
find us.
MARCO: (O.S)
Only the two of us?
TAMARA: (O.S)
Only the two of us.
Then, Tamara starts sleeping. Marco closes his eyes.

There’s a smile on his face. He never felt to free and
alive.
EXT – BUS STATION
And the bus starts. It starts leaving the town.
MARCO: (V.O)
If I tell you about it, the love story between the boy and
the monster, how would you react?? What would you say??
What would you think about it?? Those are the questions I
wonder every night.
INT – STREET
The bus starts driving on the town. To the exit.
MARCO: (V.O)
The story reminds me of a verse, from a tale, of love and
death. One I read a long time ago. One my mom told me
before sleep. The verse says: "Whisper in the ear: weary
boy, you’ll journey may come to an end, if you find our
inner monsters very well’’.
EXT – TOWN
We see it. We finally see it. The ’’You’re leaving Quisco’’

sign, as we turn and see the bus go away from the town.
Then………Silence………
We see titles cards in red:
THAT SAME NIGHT, THE POLICE FOUND THE BODY OF THE BROTHER
WHEN A NEIGHBOR, WALKING BY, LOOKED AT THE DOOR BROKEN, AND
NOTICED A DISGUSTING SMELL
THE TOWN’S SLAUGHTERING TIME ENDED, AND THE TOWN RETURNED

TO FREEDOM AFTER THE SERIES OF DEATHS WAS OVER
INT – ROAD
We see the bus, driving through a road. It’a about to get

dawn. Then, we see that everything is fading into color.
It’s not black and white anymore. It’s color. Everything.
Another title card:
MEANWHILE, MARCO AND TAMARA’S WHEREABOUTS ARE, AND STILL

REMAIN UNKNOWN
Then, we hear a suspenseful music.
Then………WE………
SMASH TO BLACK:
FADE TO RED:
On the end credits, we hear the film’s main theme. A

beautiful slow violin solo that fits on the credits. After
the theme, we hear in a vinyl player, the song ’’Strangers
in the Night by Frank Sinatra’’.
