TITLE:

ONE WEEK LATER...

INT. TRUCK. SUNRISE. A WEEK LATER.

THE SUNRISE.
The beautiful sunrise landscape on
the far off future apocalyptic
land is the first thing we see.
Something beautiful on this
catastrophic distant ambiance. The
sun is about to go on.

Then, we slowly start turning and we realize that WE'RE


INSIDE OF A TRUCK. A TRUCK that keeps working after all this
years. Maybe the owner got out and never went back, if i may
say so.

Then, from outside, a figure approaches, well dressed in


comfy warm clothes, like clothes you use when you're doing a
hunting trip, hunting deers and all that shit.

A red lumberjack shirt and blue jeans are the clothing of


the figure.

The figure, who has a male appearance, checks on the truck.


His eyes look through the inside of the truck with his two
hands covering the two sides of his head.

He then decides to press on the door to see if it's open --


AND IT IS.
The Male Figure sighs in relief, probably giving a "Thank
God!" sign or something else. He enters inside the truck. He
sits down on the driver's seat, and puts his BACKPACK on the
front seat.

This is the clear representation that we're talking about a


survivor. Someone who really went through all this crazy
shit by himself. ANOTHER CHARACTER I suppose.

The Male Figure pants. Maybe this has been a long journey to
him. He then tries looking at the truck keys.

THE MALE FIGURE looks like someone on the verge of


adulthood. A teenager. Like on his 17s or something.

Oh, and by the way, the weather is cold now.

As he stumbles his hand on a second visor, A SET OF TRUCK


KEYS fall to the guest seat, close to the backpack. He takes
them. Looks at them, realizes he has a way out of this mess.

the MALE FIGURE

Yes!

THE MALE FIGURE then tries to start the truck. But it


doesn't start. It emits short sounds but it doesn't start.
He tries so hard the next times.

the MALE FIGURE

Come on -- Come on!

But nothing. No good result for him. Just when he got


through a lot of messed up things and when he wanted a
miracle piece, he now gets this: An abandoned truck, with a
set of keys trapped inside of its second visor, and no fuel.
Is there something worse? Oh yeah, the zombie apocalypse.

Then, behind him, FLOODLIGHTS are shining outside the truck.


THE BACKSEAT WINDOW IS BEING ILLUMINATED. THE MALE FIGURE
realizes as she sees TWO LIGHT BALLS, probably from a CAR OR
A TRUCK, driving to where he is.
The VEHICLE STOPS. THE FIGURE hides on the seat, as he keeps
looking at the vehicle outside. He knows that if the guy [or
guys] from the vehicle catch him, this will be the end for
him, of his search, of everything he's now doing to survive.

THE FIGURE looks up, and sighs. She looks scared, but
mostly, angry. He closes his eyes.

The vehicle, in the other hand however, searches very


mechanically and carefully. Searching at us.

the MALE FIGURE

(whispering to himself)

You wanted this? You wanted this to happen to me? Well, here
you have me. Stuck. Aren't you amused enough right now?
Please, just get me out. Get me out of here. Take me out.
I'll do what they want, what you want -- everything.

If that means paying the price for doing the right thing,
then maybe THE MALE FIGURE is ready to accept his fate,
whatever the cost or the torture is.

Also, does the people in the vehicle know there's someone


inside the truck? We hear no doors opening, no doors
closing, no footsteps approaching sounds from outside.

Then, THE TWO FLOODLIGHTS -- TURN OFF. The next thing we can
hear is the vehicle slowly moving next to the truck. It just
moves. THE FIGURE keeps hiding.

If any bastard from the vehicle decides to get down and face
him, well, he's got a set of truck keys as a weapon, so
there's that...

Otherwise, he still doesn’t move a muscle. Not even a hand,


or an arm, or his own head, or one of his legs or feet. No
muscle. The vehicle drives off.

Maybe the people on the vehicle just wanted to make sure


that there's nobody around in the city they're in. Is this
just a little threat? Maybe they're just investigating.
Maybe they're new at this.
THE FIGURE looks how the vehicle leaves, not caring for the
truck, not looking back. He sighs, resting his head on the
seat.

As he's about to give just a single glimpse of "Thank You"


coming out of his mouth, he just express his happiness with
sighs as he rests his head on the seat.

Looks like his own prayers have been answered. Just one more
try of luck. Just one more.

the MALE FIGURE

Yeah, I see you too.

Then, after a few seconds of pure sighing, relaxing and all


of that shit mixed up, The Male Figure;

AGAIN; tries to start the truck, and just when he does it


again and again and again -- IT STARTS! The truck starts.
The Male Figure reacts with a face of shock, amazement. He
sighs, can't believe what just happened.

ON SOUNDTRACK: "NO WOMAN" by WHITNEY.

THE FIGURE, with a grim determination on his face, with a


hope for a better future on his expression, with a bare
cracking smile, starts the engine.

EXT. TRUCK. SAME.

The truck drives out. We don't know where it's headed to, or
why is going to that place specifically. It drives off,
expelling dust on its way.

We then turn to THE SUN, slowly going up, shining upon the
sky. Something tells me this is going to be a big great
orange night.

As the big trumpets of the song start to kick in, the image

FADES TO BLACK.

SMASH TO:
INT. ROAD. LATER THAT NIGHT.

The yellow lines of the road start to pass through us.


Quickly.

I left drinking on the city trains begins to sound.

CUT TO:

BEHIND OF THE TRUCK - SAME

The truck, driving through a lonely road. We follow it on a


car speed like.

We don't know where it's headed to, or why is going to that


place specifically. It just drives.

CUT TO:

INT. TRUCK. SAME.

ANGLE ON THE BACKSEAT - STEADY.

On the driver's seat, we see THE MALE FIGURE as he drives


looking front. The night’s not cold enough to put him on
comfortable clothes.

CUT TO:

THE BACKPACK.
We focus on it. It has various
collages on it. A guitar inside of
it. A Vietnam collar hanging on
the opener.

CUT TO:

THE BACKSEAT.
ANGLE ON THE BACKSEAT - STEADY.

We see how the lonely road is being left behind as we see it


on the backseat window.

CUT TO:
THE LUMBERJACK SHIRT.
The lumberjack shirt the male
figure was wearing on, is now
wrapped like a knot on the
Figure's waist.

We see a clock on his arm. Then, we slowly turn and see a


Jewish star necklace on his neck.

CUT TO:

EXT. TRUCK. SAME.

ANGLE - THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SEAT, OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCK.

The Male Figure is finally introduced to us.

He is MARCEL. A 17 year old brown skinned boy.

We slowly move back, as we focus entirely on him. This is


like a quick homage to the opening scene of A Clockwork
Orange (1971). We slowly push backwards. Slowly. A moment of
him driving as we:

CUT TO:

INT. ROAD. SAME.

THE TRUCK approaches a nearby gas station.

cut to:

INT/EXT. TRUCK. LATER.


The song keeps sounding. MARCEL
keeps driving front.

Then, he turns the truck and starts parking in front of a


gas station store. He parks somewhere.

As he opens the door, we, ON STEADY AS WE'RE ON THE DOOR,


watch how MARCEL walks off from the truck. The door closes
and WE FOCUS ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK. We watch how MARCEL
walks to the station from far.
CUT TO:

INT. GAS STATION. SAME.

MARCEL opens the gas inlet and he puts the nozzle. As he


presses it, he realizes there's no more gas. He groans. He
walks around.

THE MALE FIGURE / MARCEL


Great! Just when you thought it
couldn't get any goddamn worse.

I mean sure, i got luck by getting out of that situation


from earlier, but this --

He sighs.

CUT TO:

INT. GAS STATION RESTAURANT. MINUTES LATER.

The place is empty, abandoned, desolate. Like an empty train


station. Are there any trains here to horn out loud?

MARCEL enters. He looks everywhere. He then spots a chair


and drops it to the ground [to verify if there's any
vampires inside], and no answer. He kicks it away, emitting
sounds, and nothing. The place is empty.

MARCEL then walks to the small store that's next to the


restaurant.

He quickly picks up water. The food is already expired. He


goes for the water instead.

He then walks to the bar of the restaurant [the large ass


table in which folks put their foods and drinks there to
eat; and then get a chat with a cute waitress] and sits in
front of it. He gets comfy.

A moment of him relaxing in the empty place.

CUT TO:
INT. LIBERTY MOTEL ROOM. LATER.

MARCEL opens the door to a decaying, empty, desolate, messy


Motel room.

MARCEL puts his backpack on the bed.

MARCEL sits on bed. He jumps on it, touches the sheet


strongly with his hands. It grinds.

MARCEL lays down on the bed, looking up. Then, he takes out
the Jewish star necklace on his neck and looks at it. He
then starts sleeping with the collar on his hand.

We see MARCEL, awake, lying on the bed.

The shot fades to night and he's still awake, even if he


tries to sleep, he is awoken every time. Nightmares surround
him.

CUT TO:

INT. TRUCK. THE NEXT NIGHT.

MARCEL drives on his truck on a street. A familiar one.


Then, he turns left and stops the truck.

INT. STREET. SAME.

The truck stops. MARCEL gets down from it. MARCEL walks to
somewhere. Then he stops. He looks at an ABANDONED
APARTMENT. With green leaves covering it all, slowly being
blown by the wind and being shined by the sun. MARCEL looks
at it. He begins to remember.

The street is desolate, abandoned, rusty. There's a deep


blue sky indeed. The sun is shining. There's cars
everywhere, all empty.

MARCEL walks on the desolate street, looking at all the cars


as he walks by them. Then, he notices something that freezes
him. He walks to -- A CAR, all thrown there ever since it
got crashed.
He gets on his knees and finds HIS BAG OF CLOTHES, and
ANOTHER BAG OF CLOTHES. He stumbles inside the car and grabs
both bags. He then proceeds to walk out somewhere with the
two bags carried by him.

cut to:

INT. MARCEL'S APARTMENT. MAIN ROOM. MINUTES LATER.

MARCEL walks in. He looks around. He can't believe it's been


this long. He walks around. There's an air of nostalgia on
his expressions. An air of memories that aren't forgotten at
all.

On a WALL, he spots a MARKED MESSAGE, MARKED ON BLACK


PANTING, MARKING THE WORDS:

HOPE
LATER, He walks to HIS ROOM, and
he watches it, with a nostalgic
face. He then HIS BAG OF CLOTHES
on HIS OWN BED.

INT. MARCEL'S APARTMENT. LOUIS’ ROOM. SAME.

On LOUIS’ empty room, MARCEL puts LOUIS’ BAG OF CLOTHES on


HIS BED. The bag lies comfy on LOUIS’ BED. We slowly turn to
see THE WINDOW, the NIGHT.

cut to:

INT. MARCEL'S ROOM. NIGHT.

MARCEL is sleeping comfortably on his own bed.

A MOMENT OF HIM SLEEPING as we

cut to:

INT. CITY STREETS. THE DAY AFTER. NIGHT.


First we see a poster showing a missing cat. The name is
ripped as we only see the photo of the cat. It begins to fly
away with the wind. As we see it fly, we see a boy walking
alone on the streets. MARCEL. He walks alone on the streets
of the city. The city is empty. Desolate. Abandoned.

MARCEL (v.o)

Hello to whoever found this and now is reading this. It's me


MARCEL, again. Writing in this small journal. It's week two.
I lost count on the number of the day. But i know which day
is today. I know it's Wednesday or something.

INT. ABANDONED APARTMENT ROOM. LATER.

MARCEL is writing something on his notebook.

MARCEL (v.o)

I'm

(sighs)

I'm still here. I don't know how i did it. But I'm still
alive. For some apparent reason. I got bitten, and for some
reason, I'm still alive. I haven't turned into a fucking
vampire.

cut to:

A MONTAGE OF:
MARCEL, walking on the streets,
searching for food in the stores.
But they're all expired. He walks
on every store he can find.

MARCEL (v.o)

At least I know how much time has passed since the outbreak
just struck the city. I haven't found more survivors. Just
more vampires. I think this might be my life after all. I
think I might be the last boy on earth or something.

cut to:
Back at the same spot where MARCEL is writing in his
journal, he sighs. He looks at the gloriously blue sky.
Then, he looks at his journal. He starts writing something.

MARCEL (v.o)

I just don't want to feel so alone in this world.

SMASH TO BLACK.

INT. HOUSE - BEDROOM. NIGHT.

MARCEL is sleeping on the bed of the bedroom. He’s sleeping


like an angel. His own gun is under his pillow.

Then, he hears a glass breaking noise.

MARCEL briskly awakens. He quickly takes out his gun that’s


under his pillow.

MARCEL
Hello?!

No answer. We can clearly hear how some people are


chattering, probably hiding on a spot or something like
that.

MARCEL, wondering about those noises, rises from the bed.

CUT TO:

INT. HOUSE - MAIN ROOM. SECONDS LATER.

MARCEL, illuminating everything with his flashlight, arrives


in the main room.

He sees nothing, nobody, nothing and nobody in sight.

Then, he stops.

MARCEL
Hello--??
Then, someone that’s tall as him, probably another teenager,
GRABS HIM FROM BEHIND AND USES A MEDIUM PIECE OF CLOTH AND
PUTS IT ON HIS MOUTH AND NOSE. MARCEL forces against the
shape. But the shape is more stronger as he is succeeding in
making MARCEL pass out.

Then, MARCEL gives up and passes out.

And everything smashes to:

BLACK.

INT. SAFE HOUSE - GUEST ROOM. 9 AM. STILL NIGHT.

MARCEL is sleeping on the bed of the guest room of a safe


house.

Then, he briskly awakens. He looks around and sees that he’s


in a different room. He looks around, gets confused and
scared.

Then, the door opens, revealing a YOUNG GIRL, entering the


room with a tray with a plate of yogurt with cereals and a
glass with Orange Juice.

The young girl is introduced to us:

CHLOE.
She stops to see the confused
MARCEL.

MARCEL
What...? Who are you?

CHLOE
Good morning to you too.

Chloe puts the tray next to the bed. MARCEL looks at it,
gets confused.

MARCEL
(points at the tray)
What is that?
CHLOE
(isn’t it obvious?)
Breakfast.

MARCEL
With some poison on it?

CHLOE
What? No. What are you--No. We
don’t do that to others like us.

MARCEL wonders and gets confused about that.

MARCEL
Wait a second...others like us?
What do you mean by that?

CHLOE
There are others like us, MARCEL.

MARCEL wonders about that too.

MARCEL
How do you--??

CHLOE
I checked on your backpack.

MARCEL realizes.

MARCEL
And where is it?

CHLOE
Check on your right side.

MARCEL turns right, and sees his backpack resting on a


chair. He sighs in relief.

CHLOE
You’ve been all through this hell
by yourself?

MARCEL
It wasn’t only me. It was my older
brother. With him, I fought like
hell to stay alive.

CHLOE
I think you probably should eat. I
bet you’re hungry.

CHLOE
Girl, I’m fucking starving by now.

He takes the plate, and he starts to eat the yogurt with


cereal. Chloe looks at him.

CHLOE
Well, I'm gonna be outside now.
Let me know if you need anything
else.

Chloe rises from the bed and walks to the door, but MARCEL
stops her.

MARCEL
Wait!

Chloe turns.

MARCEL
I didn’t catch your name.

CHLOE
Chloe. My name is Chloe. Keep
eating, MARCEL Marquez. You’ll
need strength for the trip.

She exits the room. MARCEL keeps eating.

CUT TO:

INT. SAFE HOUSE - MAIN ROOM. SAME.

Chloe walks downstairs, to see...


...THE GROUP. Impatient. Waiting. Gathered on the main room
as they look at her. There’s:

ALY
(to Chloe)
How is he doing? Is he okay?

CHLOE
He’s fine. We just have to give
him some time to eat.

ALY
Alright.

MARSHALL
Is it true?

CHLOE
True what?

MARSHALL
That he has an older brother?

CHLOE
You were hearing our conversation?

MARSHALL
Only a few bits.

CHLOE
Well, had. He had an older
brother. He turned into a fucking
vampire and Marcel stabbed him in
the heart.

The whole group gasps.

ZOE
Oh no.

CHLOE
Yeah.

KYLE
So, we have to decide. Should we
bring him with us or not?

MARSHALL
(sighs)
I don’t know, man. I mean, he’s
fine and anything. But what
happens if he comes from a family
of cannibals?

ALY
Marsh...

MARSHALL
I’m just saying that what if he’s
lying about his older brother?
Huh? What if he ate his older
brother and wrote in his journal
that his older brother turned into
a vampire and the boy stabbed him
in the heart? What if, Aly? What
if what he’s telling is a lie?

Aly thinks about it, but can’t be sure about it.

ALY
What you say might be true, but we
have to figure it out first to
know better if he’s a cannibal or
not. We have to know first if he's
a bad guy or not.

Marshall thinks about his answer. He inhales and exhales. He


walks upstairs, to the guest room. The others begin to
wonder.

ALY
Where are you going?

MARSHALL
Upstairs. I need to ask him a few
questions.
He keeps walking upstairs.

CUT TO:

INT. SAFE HOUSE - GUEST ROOM. SAME.

MARCEL is finishing drinking the orange juice. On the tray


that's next to the bed, we see that the plate with yogurt
with cereal is finished.

Then, the room's door opens, and MARSHALL enters. MARCEL


looks at him, wondering.

MARCEL
Uh, hey.

MARSHALL
Hi. How was the breakfast?

MARCEL
It was fine.

I really missed the taste of yogurt with cereal.

Marshall smiles by just hearing that. He thinks, maybe this


kid isn't a cannibal after all.

MARSHALL
Chloe made it for you.

MARCEL
Chloe? The girl who visited me
first?

MARSHALL
That's right.
(getting to the chase)
Look, I'll be brief. I just want
to ask you a few questions.

And first of all, sorry about last night's incident.

MARCEL
(wonders)
What incident?
(realizes)
Oh, that incident.

Why did you kidnapped me?

Why did you bring me here?

MARSHALL
I didn't kidnap you. I just
brought you into our group because
I thought that maybe you could be
safer in our group than out there.

MARCEL
What, so you care about me now?

MARSHALL
I care for everybody that's good
with me and my group.
(sighs)
Look, I'm gonna sound stupid but
I'll have to ask you this anyway.
Are you a cannibal?

MARCEL
I consume both meat and
vegetables. But not human meat.

MARSHALL
So, everything that you wrote in
your journal...is not fake?

MARCEL
No. I mean, why would it be?

MARSHALL
So, you're not bad?

MARCEL
No, I wouldn't even harm a fucking
fly.

Marshall is convinced.
MARSHALL
(sighs)
Alright, I'm convinced.

Look, we're now going to a trip. To a safe zone. Located on


the other side of the country. It's called ROUTE SIX.

MARCEL
The safe zone is called "ROUTE
SIX"??

MARSHALL
Yeah, believe it or not. We're all
going there, hoping we can find
our families there. Want to join
us?

MARCEL
You want me to come with you guys?

MARSHALL
We could use some help on the way.

MARCEL thinks about his answer.

MARCEL
Alright, I'll help...With only one
condition.

MARSHALL
Sure, of course. Anything.

MARCEL
You're gonna help me find my
parents.

MARSHALL
Sure, we'll help you find your
family if you help us find our
families. Do we have a deal now?

MARCEL
Yeah, we have a deal.
They perform a handshake.

CUT TO:

INT. SAFE HOUSE - MAIN ROOM. SECONDS LATER.

MARCEL and Marshall walk downstairs. The group looks at


Marshall and MARCEL approaching.

MARCEL looks at the group.

MARSHALL
(to the group)
He's coming with us.

The group gets surprised.

ZOE
Really?

MARSHALL
Yeah. His family is out there.
We're gonna help him find his
family, and he's gonna help us
find our families.
(to MARCEL)
Let me introduce you to the group.
(points at Chloe)
Of course you now know Chloe.
(points at Zoe)
This is Zoe.
(points at Kyle)
This is Kyle, my cousin.
(points at Aly)
This is Alyssa. Her friends like
to call her "Aly".
(points at Ivan)
And this is Ivan. Zoe's little
brother.

MARCEL now knows who is who.

ALY
Nice to meet you, MARCEL.

MARCEL
Nice meeting you too.

MARSHALL
Alright, do we have our stuff
ready?

The rest of the group nods. They have their backpacks ready.

MARSHALL
Alright, are we ready to go?

THE REST OF THE GROUP

Yeah.

MARSHALL
You have your guns with you?

The rest of the group shows their guns.

MARSHALL
Are they loaded?

They nod.

MARSHALL
Alright then, let's go.

CUT TO:

EXT. SAFE HOUSE. SAME.

The group walks out. They walk to a BLACK LIMOUSINE.


Marshall unlocks it with the car keys. They all enter the
backseat while Marshall enters the driver's seat.

As soon as everybody enters the limousine, Marshall then


drives off.

CUT TO:
INT. ROAD. LATER THAT NIGHT.

The limousine drives on an empty road.

CUT TO:

INT. LIMOUSINE - DRIVER'S SEAT. SAME.

Marshall drives as he looks front. Kyle is on the front


seat, looking at the window.

CUT TO:

INT. LIMOUSINE - BACKSEAT. SAME.

On the large backseat of the limousine, there's the rest of


the group, silent, doing nothing.

We now focus on MARCEL as he looks at the window.

CUT TO:

INT. ROAD. SAME.

ON SOUNDTRACK: ‘FERNANDO NEVER SHOWED UP’, CHRISTIAN


ANDERSEN.

The limo drives on the road.

CUT TO:

INT. ABANDONED CITY. LATER - NIGHT.

The limo drives on the abandoned city. The background music


sets the perfect atmosphere for this apocalyptic landscape.

EXT. LIMO. SAME.

MARCEL watches from his window the abandoned city. There’s


abandoned and desolate vehicles everywhere, raided empty
stores and places, corpses on the ground, etc.
INT. APARTMENT - MAIN ROOM. LATER.

The group arrives at a fancy, elegant, but still empty and


desolate main room of an apartment door.

They begin to get settled in.

MARSHALL
Alright, everyone, listen up.
We’re gonna stay in here today. Me
and Kyle are gonna go to get
something for you guys to eat and
drink, got it?
(to Kyle)
Kyle, we’re leaving in 5 minutes.

KYLE
Got it.

MARSHALL
(to the group)
Feel free to get settled in, feel
free to look around.

The members of the group then begin to choose their own beds
where they’re going to sleep in.

CUT TO:

INT. CITY STREET. 5 MINUTES LATER.

KYLE and MARSHALL walk together, with their guns on their


hands on the empty and desolate street.

KYLE
So, is he a cannibal?

MARSHALL
Who?

KYLE
The new kid.

MARSHALL
I don’t think cannibals eat yogurt
with cereal.

KYLE
So he’s normal?

MARSHALL
Yeah, he’s normal.

KYLE
Alright.

They keep on walking. They find a nearby supermarket.

MARSHALL
Do you think it’s empty?

KYLE
That’s what we're gonna figure
out, right?

MARSHALL
Right.

CUT TO:

INT. SUPERMARKET. SAME.

The lights are flickering. Almost everything is taken.


Marshall and Kyle look around.

KYLE
Fuck, they took everything.

MARSHALL
Well, not everything.

Marshall grabs a pack of Original Skittles. He tosses it to


Kyle, who grabs it. Kyle looks at the Skittles.

KYLE
What the fuck’s this for?

MARSHALL
Doesn’t Zoe like Skittles?

KYLE
(realizes)
Ah, yeah.

MARSHALL
Give it to her when we return to
the apartment.

Marshall tries to find anything. Then, he finds a


supermarket-made Pizza. He grabs it, surprised that nobody
has stolen it, and even more surprised that it’s not
expired.

MARSHALL
This will do.

He keeps the supermarket-made Pizza inside his backpack.

KYLE
Hey. Heads up.

Marshall turns and Kyle tosses him a Pepsi drink. Marshall


looks at it.

MARSHALL
What’s this for?

KYLE
Doesn’t Aly like Pepsi?

MARSHALL
(realizes)
Ah. Right.

KYLE
I found more drinks. I guess I’m
gonna keep ‘em in my backpack.

MARSHALL
Did you find any waters?

KYLE
No, looks like they’re all gone.

MARSHALL
Fuck me. Alright, I guess that,
with these drinks and this pizza,
we can survive the day, right?

KYLE
I guess.

Kyle begins to keep the drinks on his backpack.

CUT TO:

INT. APARTMENT - BUNK BED ROOM. SAME.

ALY is looking at the window, worried.

ZOE walks to her.

ZOE
Hey Aly.

Aly turns and sees Zoe. Aly briefly smiles.

ALY
Hey Zo.

Aly turns back to the window.

ZOE

The room is empty. Nobody is around.

On the first bunk-bed, Marshall is sleeping on the bed from


above, on the bed from below, Aly sleeps. On the second
bunk-bed, CHLOE is sleeping above, and MARCEL down.

MARCEL, 13 YEARS OLD, looks at the window. His OLDER


BROTHER, LOUIS, accepting and caring, acting like a father
when he's around MARCEL, 19 YEARS OLD, drives the car.

The Two Brothers get startled as soon as they saw the


vehicle advance with such fury hell speed. They could have
got into a terrific car accident if LOUIS didn't noticed.

The Two Brothers arrive at the apartment. LOUIS walks to the


main room, MARCEL walks to his room.

Now that Mom and Dad are out by
the day, i'll be making lunch.
Gonna be cooking those delicious
crispy chicken nuggets, remember
those? The ones i cooked for the
family in Christmas?

LOUIS

MARCEL just closes the door. LOUIS sits on the couch, he


turns the TV on.

Louis is prepared to make lunch.

Then, his phone rings. Someone is calling for him. LOUIS


turns the TV off and he picks up the phone. He answers.

LOUIS
Hey Mom. We're good, yeah. We
arrived well. Marcel's a bit sad
but we're good. No, his team lost
on football and he feels down
because he thinks it's his fault.
I tried to encourage him, but i
think he just needs to rest, you
know, have some time alone. How
are you? Good, i'm glad. How's
there? Is it pretty? Is it like in

We hear panting and rushing from the other room. We slowly
turn as we see on the hallway --

LOUIS, on a huge despair on him, dialing a number. He is


anxious, desperate, scared, all of those things in the same
time.

LOUIS

pick up, pick up, pick up, please.
Just -- pick -- up.

ON PHONE
The number you're now dialing is
not available. Please try calling
again later--

LOUIS

He dials the number again, but the same result happens


again.

LOUIS

INT. LOUIS'S ROOM. MINUTES LATER.

After minutes of dialing and dialing and dialing and dialing


and dialing, LOUIS is rushed to his room and picks some
clothes and puts them in a bag.

He walks around. In despair. The TV is on, every time he


switches channel to channel to channel, he sees the same
thing in every channel he switches to: Reports of dead
people lying on the streets and living again, reports of
people attacking other people. Etc. Always the same thing in
every channel.

LOUIS looks worried. He covers his mouth, as he sees people


acting savagely. They're turning into vampires. Savage
people like early mentioned.

cut to:

INT. MARCEL'S ROOM. SECONDS LATER.

LOUIS rushes into the room, and quickly lunges at MARCEL.

LOUIS
(shaking MARCEL)
MARCEL??? MARCEL, please wake up.
MARCEL? MARCEL?!

MARCEL groans softly as he wakes up.

MARCEL
Hey.

LOUIS
Listen, you need to pack your
stuff, alright? We need to get out
of here right now.

MARCEL
What is it? Are we going on a

LOUIS

MARCEL

LOUIS rushes to MARCEL's closet and starts putting MARCEL's


clothes on a bag. MARCEL notices, confused.

LOUIS

explodes. Both notice. Both heard it. Both get startled.
LOUIS walks aggressively to the Window. On the window, we
see a crime scene that exploded.

MARCEL stands and walks to the window where he sees the


explosion. Then, another ONE! BOOM! The Two Brothers get
scared.

LOUIS
Jesus.

Then, COP CARS DRIVING IN A FURIOUS WAY TO SOMEWHERE.

MARCEL
LOUIS, what's going on?

LOUIS
I don't know.

Then, BANG BANG BANG! KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! The Two Brothers
turn.

LOUIS runs out of the room.


MARCEL
LOUIS? LOUIS?!

LOUIS
Wait for me here, alright?!

INT. THE TWO BROTHERS' APARTMENT - MAIN ROOM.

LOUIS runs to the door. It keeps banging and knocking.

MAN (BEHIND THE DOOR)


Hello?! Is there anybody inside?!

MARCEL runs to the scene.

MARCEL
Who is it?

LOUIS
Our neighbor LOU.

LOUIS begins to unlock the door.

MARCEL
The pharmacist?

LOUIS

The door is unlocked. THE MAN enters the scene: LOU, 36,
pharmacist. There's a bandage with blood on his neck. He
holds it strongly.

LOU enters. He slips to the ground, he pants. LOUIS locks


the door.

LOU
Thank you so much.

LOUIS
Are you alright?! What happened?
LOU
My -- My wife. She -- I don't know
what happened to her. She screamed
at me, she had blood coming out of
her mouth, she attacked me and
then she bit me.

MARCEL
Your neck!

LOU
It's nothing. I'm gonna be ok.

LOUIS's phone rings, he picks it up.

LOUIS
Balta?

BALTA
(on phone)
Oh thank God.

Are you guys OK in there?

LOUIS
Yeah, why?

BALTA
Everything turned to shit here!
Alvaro attacked one of the doctors
in the hospital!

LOUIS

BALTA

LOUIS

Then, LOU starts convulsing. He has some sort of seizure. He


falls to the ground and savagely starts moving. MARCEL gets
scared.

MARCEL
LOUIS? LOUIS?

LOUIS
Jesus.

LOUIS runs to LOU.

LOUIS
Sir? SIR?!

LOU still moves savagely.

MARCEL
Do something!

LOUIS
I don't know what to do! I'm not a
god-damn doctor!

Then, LOU stops moving. He slowly closes his eyes. He stops


moving. The Two Brothers get scared.

LOUIS
Sir? LOU?! LOU?!

LOUIS shakes LOU, but nothing. No good result.

He turns to MARCEL.

LOUIS
Get dressed and finish packing up.

MARCEL
What -- What are we gonna do with
him?

LOUIS
I don't know, let's just wait,
alright?!

Then, LOU WAKES UP, Now as a vampire! LOUIS and MARCEL gets
scared. LOUIS stands and so does LOU. LOUIS slowly backs
off. LOU now has red eyes. Red bloody lifeless hellish eyes.
He looks at the two brothers.

MARCEL
LOUIS?

LOUIS
Get back to your room.

MARCEL
LOUIS what's wrong with him?

LOUIS
Shh! Don't say anything. Get to
your room now.
(to lou)
Now Lou. Lou, i know you're in
there. I just want you to listen
to me, ok?

But vampire Lou won't listen. He approaches slowly.

LOUIS
Lou, stop right there!
(back to MARCEL)
MARCEL get back to your fucking
room, go get your fucking bag!
(back to lou)
Lou, i'm ordering you! Stop where
you are now!

Lou won't obey. LOUIS comes to a point in which he takes A


GUN out of his pocket, and points it at Lou. MARCEL gasps.

LOUIS
Lou, don't come near!

But Lou won't listen, he still approaches slowly.

(back to MARCEL)
MARCEL, GET BACK TO YOUR ROOM NOW-

Lou then runs at him, screaming.

LOUIS
DON'T-!

LOUIS pulls the trigger, MARCEL yells, and a bullet explodes


on Lou's heart! Lou backs off. Then, LOUIS shoots at him
again, on the heart, again. Lou falls to the ground, dead?

LOUIS looks at the result. Truth is he had to do it. If he


didn't wanted to turn and kill his confused little brother.
He turns at MARCEL.

LOUIS
MARCEL.

LOUIS runs at MARCEL.

LOUIS
MARCEL, listen to me --

MARCEL
You shot him.

LOUIS
I know. I know. But listen --

MARCEL
He was running to you, and you
shot him.

LOUIS
Listen. I want you to understand.
There's something bad going on.
Something terrible. But right now,
we've got to get out of here.
Understood? For our safety.

MARCEL

LOUIS
I'll lock the door. Go get your
bag, i'll get mine. We'll go on my
car.

They prepare to do their actions.

MINUTES LATER:
LOUIS and MARCEL run out of their
rooms, with their bags full of
clothes on their hands. MARCEL
spots the spot where Lou's body
is, and realizes --

IT'S EMPTY.
The door is broken. It was broken
open.

Truth is that Lou woke up as a vampire (again) and since he


saw nobody at the apartment, he crashed on the door to get
out.

LOUIS looks at it too.

LOUIS
Come on, we have to go.

They run off.

Cut to:

INT. APARTMENT HALLWAY. SAME.

MARCEL and LOUIS exit their apartment, as they run quicker


into the hallway. They run to the elevators. LOUIS tries to
make them work, but they take too long.
LOUIS
Goddamn it, hurry!

MARCEL
Let's use the stairs.

LOUIS
Great idea!

The two brothers run to THE EMERGENCY STAIRS.

INT. EMERGENCY STAIRS.

The two brothers run downstairs as fast as they can.

Then, they approach to a door. The LOBBY door, and LOUIS


opens it.

INT. APARTMENT LOBBY. SAME.

The Two Brothers run to the entrance. The LOBBY looks


abandoned.

Then, A HOLLOWING DEMONIC INHUMANE HELLISH SCREAM is heard


from behind them. They turn as they see ANOTHER VAMPIRE,
RUNNING AT THEM!

VAMPIRE
Blood! BLOOD!

LOUIS
Shit, run!

THE TWO BROTHERS run to the entrance. They open it.

EXT. APARTMENT. SAME.

They run to LOUIS'S CAR. LOUIS turns the car on with his car
keys. Beep beep! THE VAMPIRE is still running at them,
screaming, yelling, etc!
LOUIS & MARCEL open the doors of the car. And they quickly
get inside.

INT. LOUIS'S CAR. SAME.

MARCEL is on the backseat, LOUIS on the driver's seat.


MARCEL's bag and LOUIS's bag are both on the driver's seat.

LOUIS starts the car. THE VAMPIRE STUMBLES ON THE CAR! But
the car starts to losing him. As the car drives faster into
the streets, THE VAMPIRE IS LOST ON SIGHT. They already lost
him. LOUIS, hurried, gives his phone to MARCEL.

LOUIS
MARCEL. I want you to do -- I want
you do search for Balta's number,
ok? Look on my contacts.

MARCEL searches for Balta on his phone.

LOUIS
You found it?

MARCEL
I found it.

LOUIS
Good.

Now...

Press on "Call".

MARCEL presses on "Call". The phone is beeping, the call is


dialing.

ON PHONE
The number you're now dialing is
not available--

LOUIS

LOUIS hangs up the call.

radio?

LOUIS

LOUIS turns on the radio. From what we can hear, only


static. All the radio stations are off, disconnected,
unavailable.

What's happening? Why was Lou
acting in that way? Why did you
had to shoot him in the heart?

LOUIS

Then, both see a young father with his wife with their
little son, walking.

MARCEL

On the outside, the young father notices. The car advances


faster.

The car begins to lose the family. MARCEL sees through the
rear view mirror how the young father runs to the car.

LOUIS
I'm sorry. I wished we could have
helped them, but i just -- What if
they were dangerous people? Or
cannibals, maybe? What if they
tried to steal the car? What if
they were turning into vampires?

MARCEL
They were alright. If they were
turning into vampires, they would
have stumbled around! Turn back.

LOUIS

MARCEL
I think we should turn back and
help them.

LOUIS

cannot trust in anybody else but

They start to drive close to the highway, which can take


them out of the city.
Then, in front of them, the FLOODLIGHTS REVEAL a gigantic
vampire crowd, who are now running to the car after spotting
it.

LOUIS
Holy fuck!

MARCEL
The highway!

LOUIS
I know!

LOUIS drives backwards again. The VAMPIRES run to the car.


One VAMPIRE of the crowd breaks the window. Then, the car
turns to drive front, away from the vampire crowd, and
CRASH! A VAMPIRE is ran over by the car. Blood splatters on
the front window.

LOUIS
Jesus!

They drive faster.

MARCEL
Oh God.

Then, as they're about to go on another city street, they


stop as they see cars blocking the way.

LOUIS
God damn it!

MARCEL
Maybe you should turn back and try
on another way. Maybe we should
take a shortcut---

Then, chaos begins. We see how various VAMPIRES are running


to the cars, breaking the windows and attacking the people.
The two brothers can't do nothing but to watch in panic and
terror. The two brothers watch how one VAMPIRE drags a guy
from the window. He puts him on the ground, as the patient
start savagely attacking him.
LOUIS
Jesus Christ.

MARCEL shakes on LOUIS, but he still looks front, shocked


and in fear. LOUIS is frozen.

MARCEL
LOUIS? LOUIS!

LOUIS gasps and accidentally presses the horn. Some VAMPIRES


look at the car. The VAMPIRE who was once attacking the
other normal person stands up.

MARCEL
Backwards. Backwards, now!!!

LOUIS drives backwards as all the VAMPIRES start chasing the


car. LOUIS drives back from where he came from.

We turn as MARCEL sees on the back how the VAMPIRES are


chasing the car. But the car is faster than those dead head
bastards.

The car drives faster as it starts losing the VAMPIRES on


the darkest of the nights.

MARCEL
Did you see what that person was
doing to that man? That was --
Holy shit, that was insane.

LOUIS
Did we lost them?

No answer. Silence.

LOUIS
MARCEL!

MARCEL
Yeah?

LOUIS

MARCEL

chasing us.

LOUIS turns right, to another street, to a quiet street.

LOUIS

LOUIS keeps driving front. The street is quiet. Then, as


they land on the city street, we turn faster to MARCEL, who
sees on his window, A CAR RUNNING TO THEM!!

MARCEL
Look ou-!

Too late. The car already crahed on them. The car collapses.
They fall to the ground.

HARD SMASH TO BLACK.

INT. LOUIS'S CAR. SECONDS LATER. AFTER THE CRASH.

Image is blurry. We focus on LOUIS, unconscious due to the


crash. The sounds are almost unheard. It's like we're
underwater or something. But we're not UNDER the WATER.

On the outside, chaos already emerged. People attacking


people. Then, LOUIS slowly wakes up, he opens his eyes and
sees the person who crashed their car. The person is acting
savagely, trying to get out of the car, even though he's
tied with the seat belt. The person bangs strongly on the
window, screaming savagely. LOUIS slowly gets the
consciousness back. He puts his hand on his head.
LOUIS
MARCEL? MARCEL?

He turns to MARCEL, and shakes him.

LOUIS
MARCEL? MARCEL!

Now, the underwater-like sounds that are almost unheard are


not begone. Now we can hear everything clearly.

MARCEL wakes up. He fully wakes up. Realizes that their car
just crashed.

LOUIS
Are you OK?

MARCEL
Yeah, i'm fine.

LOUIS
Listen, I'll kick my door open so
the two of us can get out, ok?

MARCEL
Got it.

LOUIS then starts kicking on his door. He pushes the door


with his leg. It opens. He takes the seatbelt off him as he
gets out. He stumbles out of the car finally, and turns to
MARCEL.

LOUIS
Alright, be careful when you get
out, ok? Be careful when you go.

MARCEL
Ok.

MARCEL then takes his seat-belt off. OUTSIDE, a VAMPIRE


attacks LOUIS. But LOUIS avoids the attacks. He tries to
take his gun out of his pocket but it slips and falls to the
ground. He resists himself as he grunts. But the VAMPIRE is
stronger. LOUIS grunts and yells.
The VAMPIRE smiles.

VAMPIRE
There's no way out, foolish boy.
Now, give up and die.

Then, MARCEL attacks the VAMPIRE with a switchblade. He


stabs the VAMPIRE everywhere. Now there's a fucking vampire
and a young man facing each other. Then, LOUIS takes a stake
out of his pocket and stabs the VAMPIRE in the heart!

LOUIS walks to MARCEL.

LOUIS
Alright, let's go.

MARCEL
What about our stuff?

LOUIS
Fuck our stuff! Let's go!

They begin to run. Chaos spreads everywhere. Hell just broke


off its chains and it's on the loose. People are running
everywhere. Several car crashes against each other, a gas
station explodes, one floor of a building explodes, a
VAMPIRE attacks a man. Yep, not your typical Thursday night.

THE VAMPIRES jump from buildings to the street, managing to


encounter and bite as many people as they can.

ALL THE VAMPIRES have THEIR EYES COLORED RED. But you
already knew that part. Fuck it.

LOUIS
Don't look at that!

MARCEL
Ok!

LOUIS
We're gonna get out of this,
alright?
MARCEL
Alright.

They need to get out of there as quickly and as soon as they


can, before they get swallowed by chaos.

LOUIS
This way, come on!

Hurry!

They run

to:

INT. ALLEY.

They keep running front.

LOUIS
Keep going! Keep fucking running!

MARCEL
What the fuck do you think I’m
doing?

MARCEL turns and he sees VAMPIRES, trying to MAKE THEIR WAY


THROUGH THE FENCE.

MARCEL
Oh God.

LOUIS
Keep moving!

Then, as they exit the alley, they land on another street.


They run front. Then, they STUMBLE on a car that was going
faster. It stops in front of LOUIS and MARCEL.

LOUIS
Look.

A car.
We can be safe.

(to driver)

Hey.

The driver presses on the horn.

driver

Move!

LOUIS
Hey!

Listen, our car just crashed.

We need to get out of here.

driver

Move out of the way!

Move the fuck out of the way!

LOUIS
Listen!

Please, man!

We need your help!

The DRIVER exits the car, close to the driver's seat, and he
points a handgun at The Two Brothers. MARCEL gasps. LOUIS is
frozen. He slowly raises his hands.

LOUIS
Please, man.

I don't care.

LOUIS
Look, I know you want to live too!
And believe me, so do we! So,
please, help us, get out of here.

driver

Either you two move out of my way -- You're gonna move from
front or i will blow your brains off! To each one of you!

MARCEL
LOUIS?

LOUIS
Sorry, i really don't want to do
this. But I'm not letting you kill
my little brother in front of me.

LOUIS grabs his gun and shoots at the driver, twice. The
driver is dead, on the ground. MARCEL gasps.

MARCEL
Oh my God!

LOUIS
MARCEL.

MARCEL
You shot him.

LOUIS
MARCEL. Listen.

MARCEL
You shot him. You shot the fucking
guy.

LOUIS
I know, i know i did, but listen,
i had to. There was no other
choice. But you need to
understand. Ok?

MARCEL
Ok.
LOUIS
From now on, this will be things
here. No matter what, you can't
trust in no one. OK? Nobody.

MARCEL

LOUIS

The two get inside. LOUIS gets inside the driver's seat,
while MARCEL gets in the front seat. The car drives off in
the darkest of the nights. We slowly turn and see THE
DRIVER'S HANDGUN, on the DRIVER'S HAND.

INT. BUNK-BED ROOM. MORNING. PRESENT DAY.

Marcel wakes up briskly. He notices that everyone else in


the room is gone.
He looks at the door.

CUT TO:

INT. APARTMENT - DINING ROOM. SECONDS LATER.

The group is having breakfast. Marcel arrives at the scene.

CHLOE
(notices Marcel)
Hey, Marcel.

MARCEL
Hey. What is this?

CHLOE
Breakfast. Come, join us.

Marcel sits with the group. He prepares to himself a bread


with ham and cheese.

CHLOE
How was your night? How did you
sleep?

MARCEL
My night was fine. I slept good.

CHLOE
I didn't woke you up because you
were in deep sleep. I thought it
might have pissed you off if I
did.

MARSHALL
Alright, so, minutes after the
breakfast, we'll go. Alright?

Yeah, I know we're going to Route

Aly turns to a driving Marshall.

ALY
Where are we?

Close to a gas station. We can put
fuel to the limo in there.

ALY

Road 39. I don't know if we're
close to Route 6.

ALY

Aly then takes a disc out of her backpack.

ALY

MARSHALL

ALY
Would you put this on?

Marshall turns and sees the disc.

MARSHALL

A disc. My own mix-tape. I want

Since we're on the road with

Marshall is quickly convinced.

He puts the disc on the disc player. Then, the song "GOD'S

appreciates Aly's musical taste.

On front of the limo, we see a THUG, acting like he's hurt,
walking to the front of the limo.

INT. LIMOUSINE. SAME.

Marshall sees the THUG and immediately stops the limo.

He sees the THUG and wonders.

The THUG looks like he's hurt. He has been stabbed on his
gut. It hurts so much to HIM.

THUG
Please...
(coughs fake blood)
...help me.

On the limo, the group wonders about the thug.

Marshall looks on the window, and sees there's people hiding


with guns on bushes. He realizes.

ALY
Who the fuck is that guy?

MARSHALL
Aly, I want you to return to your
seat.

ALY
Why?

MARSHALL
Do what I say, alright?

ALY
What will you do?

MARSHALL
Just return to your seat.

ALY
Are you gonna ignore a hurt man?

MARSHALL
He ain't even hurt.

ALY

MARSHALL
I just know.

He just drives. The limo wildly advances to the thug, who


pulls off a gun and starts shooting the limo.

The gunshots don't hurt the group. Nor Marshall, nor Kyle.

THE THUG is ran over by the minivan.

More thugs that were hiding in the forest are running to the
car with guns and weapons.

MARSHALL
Shit!

Everybody from the group look on both sides:

Thugs are approaching from both sides with weapons. The


thugs shoot at the windows and the group covers up.

The limo starts to advance faster, as the thugs are still


following, and running to the car.

Seconds pass, and the limo loses the thugs as it drives far
from them. So far from them.

Then, one thug in a motorcycle approaches to where Marshall


is. The motorcycle thug grabs a gun out of his pocket.

Then, BANG!

The motorcycle thug shoots Marshall in the arm! The rest of


the group screams in horror.

Marshall screams in pain as he stops driving the limo. Kyle


helps his wounded cousin.
The limo stops as the motorcycle thug stops the motorcycle
and gets down from it, reloading a gun and walking to the
group.

MOTORCYCLE THUG
(aiming a gun to the
group)
Get out of the fucking car!

MARSHALL
(hurt, bleeding from his
arm)
Guys, do what he says.

KYLE
Marshall nobody is fucking
abandoning you here.

MARSHALL
I didn't say anything about

MARSHALL
Anytime guys, he's pointing a gun
at us!

Kyle and the group gets out of the limo. Marshall opens the
door and falls to the ground.

CHLOE
Please, don't kill us.

MOTORCYCLE THUG
Shut the fuck up! Give me your
backpacks!

CHLOE
Shit.

Aly then takes out a gun and shoots at the motorcycle thug
on the legs, then on the face. The group yells.
Aly pants, furious.

Then, she turns at a hurt Marshall and immediately gets


worried.

ALY
Oh no. Marshall?

She runs to him. He's sitting on the ground, hurt and still
bleeding.

MARSHALL
Aly.

ALY
No, no, no, no. Can you walk?

MARSHALL
I think I can. Listen, leave me
here.

ALY
No.

MARSHALL
More will come, alright? More of
those fuckers will come and they
will kill you.

CHLOE
Marsh, we're not leaving you here.

MARCEL
Look, there's a forest.

They turn to see a forest next to the road.

CHLOE
We can stay there.

MARSHALL
Alright. Help me up.

Aly helps Marshall get up.


Then, they hear the screaming of the savages far from them.

CHLOE
Let's run to the forest right now.

They run to the forest, managing to hide from the thugs and
the looters and the savages at the right time.

CUT TO:

INT. FOREST. DUSK.

We first see the dusk. All glorious in its pure nature.

Then, we turn down and see: A camping place.

CUT TO:

INT. CAMPING TENT. SAME.

From above, a light is on. As Marcel is healing Marshall's


gun wound.

Marshall is shirtless as he's resting on a sleeping bag.

As Marcel heals Marshall's wound, Marshall grunts and winces


out of pain.

MARCEL
Sorry.

MARSHALL
It's alright.

He keeps doing the action.

CUT TO:

EXT. CAMPING TENT. MINUTES LATER.

Marcel exits the camping tent. He sees Aly, worried about


Marshall, waiting for an answer.
ALY
How is he? Tell me something good,
please.

MARCEL
He's fine. We just have to let him
rest.

ALY
Alright. Can I see him?

MARCEL
I'm afraid not. He needs to rest
alone. Later, you can visit him.

ALY
Alright, I understand.

MARCEL
Go rest. You must be tired.

ALY

Aly goes to a camping tent. To rest.

INT. CAMPING TENT. LATER - MIDNIGHT.

Marshall is sleeping while looking up.

Then, he hears footsteps.

He wakes up as he keeps hearing those footsteps.

He sees next to him, a FLASHLIGHT illuminating the camping


tent in which Marshall is.

The light moves on to the entrance of the sleeping tent.

Marshall looks at it move.


Then, opening the tent, there's ALY, who looks at Marshall
from the entrance of the tent.

ALY
Hey,

MARSHALL
Hey. What are you doing here?

ALY
Somebody has to take care of you.
Somebody needs to prevent you from
dying.

Marshall is convinced.

MARSHALL
Alright, come in.

Aly comes in and closes the tent entrance.

She snuggles next to Marshall.

ALY
Hmm. You're warm.

MARSHALL

Both sleep together.

CUT TO:

INT. FOREST. MORNING. THE NEXT DAY. STILL NIGHT.

Chloe is exploring the forest. She's far from the camping


site.

Then, she hears footsteps.

She stops, freezes, looks around and takes out her


switchblade.

CHLOE
Who's there?! Come out now!

Then, behind her, two figures appear.

The figures are a MAN, WILLIAMS, and his son, LAMBERT.


Williams is 40 and LAMBERT is 12.

Chloe turns.

WILLIAMS
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Relax. It's me.
We just want to talk--

CHLOE
Any unsafe move you make to me,
and I'll plug your fucking eyes

WILLIAMS

Lambert extends his hand to greet Chloe.

The group, except for Marshall, is having dinner at a large


table in the dining room of Williams' house.

Williams is standing, watching them eat.

WILLIAMS
You like it?

MARCEL
It's really tasty. What kind of
meat is it?

WILLIAMS
The meat? Deer.

Marcel keeps eating.

CUT TO:
INT. WILLIAMS' HOME - GUEST ROOM. LATER. AFTER LUNCH.

Marshall is lying on a bed, sleeping.

Aly is with him.

Williams' wife, LINDA, 29, walks into the room.

LINDA
Hi.

Aly turns to her.

ALY
Hi.

LINDA
Pretty boy, isn't he?

ALY

LINDA

I met my husband when I was 18.
Eleven years ago. I was introduced
to him by a group of friends.

He stumbles across a photo of WILLIAMS and his oldest son,


probably Kyle's age, JOE. On a field trip, both happy and
cheery.

WILLIAMS
His name was Joe.

Kyle turns to Williams, walking to him.

WILLIAMS
Was. He's gone now.

KYLE
What happened to him?

WILLIAMS
He turned into one of those things
and we had to kill him.

KYLE
Ah. I'm so sorry for your loss.

WILLIAMS
Nah, it's fine. I mean, that's
what life's about, right? Losing
the ones you love, even as a
mortal, and as an immortal. That
was Joe's favorite photo. He
always loved this one. He always
loved the field trips we made

Williams tries to guess Kyle's name.

recorded it on this small tape
recorder he had. I don't know
where he put it, to show you some

Then, KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. Both look at the door. Then at each
other, wondering.

Williams goes to the basement to get the shotgun.

WILLIAMS
Don't open the door. Don't even
ask who it is.

KYLE
Alright.

After a few seconds, Williams comes back with a shotgun. He


unlocks the door and opens it, revealing ANOTHER MAN,
pointing a rifle at him.

This man is NICOLAS. Bald. Bearded. 34 years old. Williams'


cousin.

NICOLAS
Did you hear about the
mathematician who's afraid of
negative numbers? I did. I heard
that he'll stop at nothing to
avoid them.

WILLIAMS
Why do we tell actors to "break a
leg?" Because every play has a
cast.

NICOLAS
Have you ever heard about the new
restaurant called Karma? They said
it has the most fantastic food.

Silence.

Then, the two burst into laughing and wheezing. Kyle is


confused.
WILLIAMS

The two approach to each other and they hug.

WILLIAMS

NICOLAS
Good. I made it. I fucking made
the trip. I didn't thought I could

The hug breaks.

Nicolas notices Kyle.

NICOLAS
And who is this?

WILLIAMS
This is Kyle. We sheltered him and
his friends earlier today.

Williams leaves the scene and walks into the house.

Marcel looks at the window, and sees Chloe, walking around,
talking to herself in the backyard.

She does that all the time.

Marcel turns at Zoe.

MARCEL
Hmm?

ZOE
She does that all the time.

MARCEL
Talking to herself and walking

ZOE
Mm-hm. She likes to do it. It
makes her release herself. She can
think freely that way.

MARCEL
Huh.

CUT TO:

INT. WILLIAMS' HOME - BACKYARD. SAME.

Chloe talks to herself and walks around.

CUT TO:

INT. WILLIAMS' HOME - GUEST ROOM. LATER.

Marshall is still sleeping. Aly is resting her head on the


bed.

Then, Marshall wakes up.

MARSHALL
(coughs)
What the fuck?

Then, he sees Aly, sleeping gently without disturbing


anyone.

He warmly smiles and gently strokes his finger on her hair.

Aly smiles and takes his hand. Then, she wakes up and sees
Marshall.

Hey.

Hey, how are you doing?

MARSHALL
I'm feeling better--

He then realizes about the house and the room that they're
in.

MARSHALL
Where the hell are we?

ALY
At Williams'.

MARSHALL
At who?

ALY
Williams. He took us in this
morning. He brought us to his
house. His wife healed your
wounds. She's a great doctor.

MARSHALL
What's his last name? Williams.

ALY
Prat. Williams Prat.

MARSHALL
Williams fucking Prat took us in
his fucking home.

Marshall takes soon on realizing something. Then, he fully


realizes about it.

Zoe walks downstairs.

Then, she finds the switch of the generator.

ZOE

WILLIAMS (O.S)

ZOE

Got it.

She pulls it up, then down, then up again, and to finish,

The light goes back on.

Zoe sighs in relief.

Then, she hears something falling.

She turns right and sees a TORTURE ROOM, SPLATTERED WITH


BLOOD AND GUTS.

It's a torture room like the ones you see in horror movies.
It's got torture devices, and a giant jail cell.

ZOE
What the fuck?

She walks deep into the torture room.

She walks to the table and sees a bloodied body covered in a


white sheet.

She removes the white sheet off the body and sees it's a
TORN APART BLOODIED MALE BODY!

Zoe gasps, horrified.

ZOE
Oh my God.

The body has his legs and eyes ripped off.

She quickly runs upstairs.

ZOE
GUYS! GUYS!!!
She exits the basement, only to find:

HIS GROUP OF FRIENDS, AND LITTLE BROTHER, UNCONSCIOUS, ALL


DRUGGED.

ZOE
What--??

WILLIAMS
Oh, I see you have arrived.

He knocks her down with a hit with a gun.

SMASH TO BLACK.

INT. WILLIAMS' HOME - BASEMENT - JAIL CELL. HOURS LATER.

The group, except for Marshall, are locked in the jail cell,
all unconscious.

Then, Kyle slowly wakes up. He refreshes his eyes.

He sees the male bloodied dismembered body, now being torn


apart explicitly. His head, arms, torso and guts are being
cut off by Williams.

Kyle gasps.

Williams heard that gasp, he turns to Kyle.

KYLE
Mr. Williams? What are you doing?

WILLIAMS
What every survivor should do.
Prepare dinner. At least you're
alive. Did you slept tight?

KYLE
Alright, asshole. Release us. We
won't become into your sex slaves
or pets or whatever.
Whatever this is, this funny game that you're trying me to

Then, the rest of the group wakes up.

KYLE

They all refresh their eyes.

ALY
What happened? Where are we?

KYLE
In Williams' basement.

IVAN
His basement?

KYLE
Yeah. He's a cannibal.

Aly then begins to realize.

ALY
He was right.

All eyes lock on her.

Who? Who was right?

ALY
Marshall. He was right all along.
And I didn't believe in him.

Aly begins to cry.

Zoe calms her down.

ALY

ZOE
We have to get out of here.

We then focus on MARCEL.

HARD SMASH TO:

BLACK.

FADE TO:

INT. ABANDONED HOUSE #2. NIGHT. FLASHBACK.

The MORNING LIGHT starts to FADE IN on THE ROOM. It SHINES


on US. Then, we turn and see we're INSIDE OF A DIFFERENT
ROOM. Maybe a SHACK ROOM, or something like it. The walls
and the roof are made of wood, so that could tell we're on a
cabin.

Then, we turn to see a LONELY FIGURE on A BED. A 17 Year-old


boy named MARCEL, with a ponytail, and with survival
clothes, is lying on his bed. He wakes up from a dream. He
opens his eyes.

cut to:

EXT. SHACK. MINUTES LATER.

MARCEL goes outside. He contemplates the morning light. And


the quiet, lonely place that is the outside. Which is,
luckily, not a very fucked up place like the cities and
towns, with this new virus struck thing.
LOUIS (O.S)
Maybe if we take south, we can
find an easy way to get there.

cut to:

INT. SHACK. MAIN ROOM. LATER.

MARCEL, with LOUIS, are looking at a map set on a table.


They point at directions.

LOUIS
We can go from here to south, or
north. It's just an idea. I think
that if we take the route to
Savannah, we can find them there.

MARCEL
Yeah, but what if they moved to
another zone? What if they were
translated to somewhere else? What
if they're out there, trying to
find us? We've already tried the
Baton Rouge safe zone, and they
were not there. Plus, there's
vampires outside, and hunters.
There's no way we're getting out.
Plus, we don't have a car--

LOUIS
Maybe we can go to the city. We go
to the city and we can find a car.

MARCEL
All i'm saying, are they still

THE TWO BROTHERS are walking in an empty street. They both


have backpacks in their backs. They're walking slowly. Both
are holding guns in their hands, looking front.

LOUIS

We don't know if there are people in here.

MARCEL stops and finds a dropped Rubik's cube. MARCEL takes


it and admires it.

MARCEL
Huh.

LOUIS
MARCEL, come on!

MARCEL
Coming!

He runs to LOUIS.

MARCEL
(showing the cube to
LOUIS)
Look what I've found that's not a
person.

LOUIS

MARCEL

A BLURRY IMAGE/FRAME
is the next thing we see. The
image is all damp. Like if someone
took a shower there. But there's
no shower there.

From the blurry image, we see a shadow approaching to us


with a flashlight. It SHINES!
The figure puts his hands and face on the image to check is
the place is empty. The figure is young. The figure is
nobody less than LOUIS himself.

LOUIS sees a house kitchen. He sees all the plates on the


washer. Then, he/we turn to see the main room, all empty.

MARCEL (o.s)

How is it inside?

Do you see anything?

Anybody at least?

EXT. HOUSE. SAME.

LOUIS aparts his view from the window.

LOUIS
It looks empty.

He walks to the door. Tries to open, then he realizes:

LOUIS
And the door's locked.

LOUIS then notices a way that leads to the backpart of the


house.

LOUIS
Come.

MARCEL
Alright.

LOUIS walks with MARCEL to the backpart. He notices a door


and a window. LOUIS walks to the door and he realizes:

LOUIS
And this one's also locked. Yep,
we're all pretty good in here.

MARCEL
How are we going to enter?

LOUIS
I don't know.

MARCEL then walks to the backyard and notices a baseball bat


thrown on the ground. He grabs it.

MARCEL
LOUIS.

LOUIS turns and sees MARCEL with the baseball bat.

cut to:

INT. HOUSE. SAME.

And the window breaks. The window gets broken by the bat.
The glasses are shattering everywhere. LOUIS breaks the
rests of the broken window with the bat.

LOUIS
OK, here i go.

LOUIS enters the house. As he does, he turns to MARCEL.

LOUIS
Alright, I'll help you get in,
ready?

MARCEL
Ready.

MARCEL enters the house. He manages to enter with LOUIS's


help. The Two are now inside the house.

INT. HOUSE MAIN ROOM. MINUTES LATER.

The state of it? BAD. More than BAD, it's WORSE.

What used to be this charming, well designed, well


constructed, beautiful house....now it's nothing but a
fucking dump.
The house looks desolated. Everything disordered. All
pictures, stuff, jars, they're all broken and dropped on the
ground. Like if some earthquake erupted in here. LOUIS and
MARCEL start looking around.

MARCEL
This place looks haunted.

LOUIS
Yeah. It looks like if the owner
of this house copied the style
from a Haunted House catalog.

It does look that way. The apocalypse makes the house to


look that way. Haunted. Empty. Desolate.

INT. HOUSE OFFICE. LATER.

LOUIS slowly enters. He approaches and sees a CD disc of


Badfinger's Baby Blue. He takes it. He opens it, the disc's
still there. He takes his backpack and puts the disc on the
backpack. He sees on a furniture, a box full of cigars. He
takes it, thinks for a moment, and throws it.

LOUIS
MARCEL!

MARCEL
Yeah?!

LOUIS
Have you found anything?

INT. HOUSE MAIN ROOM. SAME.

MARCEL is also searching.

MARCEL
No, everything went to shit in
here! You don't even have good
bread in here. Who the hell lived
here?? I can't find anything here!
MARCEL then finds a photo of a boy, his brother, and his
grandfather, standing happily, looking at the camera with
joy. MARCEL thinks. He decides to keep the picture on his
backpack. He tries to search for more.

LOUIS exits the office and walks to MARCEL.

LOUIS
Found something?

MARCEL
No. Like i've said, nothing.

LOUIS
I'll be upstairs if you need
something.

MARCEL
Sure.

LOUIS walks upstairs.

INT. HOUSE SECOND FLOOR ROOM. SAME.

LOUIS gets upstairs. He looks on the empty rooms. He enters


on the kids' room. It looks desolate, empty -- sad. He then
gets on his knees and grabs a family photo that was thrown
on the ground, broken, decaying. He thinks. He remembers. He
feels nostalgic.

INT. HOUSE KITCHEN. SAME.

MARCEL is about to exit. Then, he hears something


unsettling. He hears a car approaching to the house. It
parks. There's 3 looters inside. MARCEL is now alarmed.

MARCEL
Shit.

He runs upstairs

INT. HOUSE SECOND FLOOR ROOM. SAME.


MARCEL runs to LOUIS, who turns, wondering.

LOUIS
What is it? What's wrong?

MARCEL
Somebody's here.

LOUIS turns to a window. He rushes to it. He sees the three


looters exiting the car. Into the house.

LOUIS
More like "some guys are here".

MARCEL
What do we do?? Where do we go??

LOUIS
Calm down. I don't know. I don't
know! Just let me think.

They hear the door, breaking. Being punched. LOUIS then


turns to see a guest room.

LOUIS
There! We can hide there!

MARCEL
Why not under the bed?

LOUIS
Both of us don't fit there. Plus,
you want to be dragged and shot to
death?? Let's get inside.

The Two run to

INT. GUEST ROOM.

As they enter, LOUIS locks the door. The two hide facing the
wall, close to the door. They hear two looters walking to
the second floor. They inspection everywhere they can.

MARCEL
(whispering)
What do we do now?

LOUIS
(whispering)
We wait.

MARCEL
(whispering)
Wait?

Wait for what??

LOUIS shushes him, quietly.

LOUIS
(whispering)
We just wait.

LOOTER #1
(outside the room)
You guys found anything down

LOOTER #2

downstairs)
Nothing in here!

Through the door's ground, we see TWO BOOTS, walking and


standing front to the door. LOUIS silently pants. In fear.
So as MARCEL. He slowly puts his head on the wall. Thinking
that maybe coming in was a mistake. The LOOTER tries to open
it. But it's locked. He forces it. Tries to open it. The
looter's probably thinking "Hey, this door's locked. Is
there anybody inside?"

The doorknob is being forced, being twisted and spinning so


violently. LOUIS looks at MARCEL, who nods at him.

MARCEL
(whispering)
Alright.
LOUIS looks at the door. He grabs his gun. He's ready to
click it. The two are ready to attack.

LOUIS
(softly whispering)
Just get us out. Get us out. I'll
do whatever you want me to do.
I'll pay the price. If you want
it, get him out instead. You
wouldn't dare to take him instead
of me.

The attempts of opening the door are intensifying. LOUIS is


ready to un-lock the door by slowly moving to it while he
holds his gun on the other hand.

LOOTER #3
(from outside the room)

LOOTER #2

LOOTER #3
We've got company!

The TWO LOOTERS walk downstairs. LOUIS checks if there's no


boots outside. There are not. He sighs. He rushes to the
window. He sees the THREE LOOTERS, standing in front of A
GANG OF CANNIBALS, with WEAPONS ON THEIR HANDS, pointing
guns at them.

MARCEL
What's happening?

LOUIS
I -- Uh --

MARCEL
Are they still there?

LOUIS
They're outside.
MARCEL
Maybe we should leave now.

LOUIS
No, it's not safe right now. I
think....
(walks back and sits at
wall)
I think we should wait. Wait until
everything happens quickly.

MARCEL
Ok.

LATER --
They're both sleeping. A part of
the sunlight strikes on LOUIS's
face, who groans as he wakes up.
He sees the sunlight and he covers
it with his hand. He walks to the
window, where he sees THEY'RE ALL
GONE.

CUT TO:

INT. ABANDONED HOUSE - MAIN ROOM. LATER.

THE TWO BROTHERS walk downstairs. They notice the house is


all empty. Nobody else is inside. They walk outside.

EXT. HOUSE.

They walk outside. Nobody else is outside either.

cut to:

INT. CITY STREET. LATER.

The Two Brothers keep on walking. Then, MARCEL stops and


sees a gigantic STADIUM. He admires it.

MARCEL
Don't you want to check it out???
You've always talked about how
great it would feel to go to the
stadium. Well, now you got your
chance.

LOUIS
Well, I've always wanted to visit
it. Ok, but it's only one quick
tour, then we'll leave. But I mean
it seriously, cause last time we
went to the museum, you stayed for
thirty minutes. One quick tour and
bye bye, we're outta here
immediately.

MARCEL
No problem.

They walk to it.

INT. STADIUM. MINUTES LATER.

Empty. Everything empty. MARCEL and LOUIS are inside,


walking slowly and wondering.

LOUIS
Huh. Not what I've expected, but
well -- here we are.

They keep walking. They walk on a subterranean part. They


seem to be finding nothing, outside, abandoned cars. But
they're close to OUTSIDE. Then, LOUIS finds one hallway on
the right that leads to a light. Currently unknown. LOUIS is
wondering. But still--

LOUIS
Let's check it out from here.

--LOUIS wants to go in there no matter what. MARCEL follows


him.
The two brothers are walking to a place that leads to a
light. We get close and finally realize it's not a light.
It's the stadium itself.

LOUIS
Look at that.

It's big and empty. They're impressed.

LOUIS
You know, I've heard of a story,
DAD told me. It was back in Chile,
it was a long time before, they
use to bring the prisoners to the
stadium. Isn't that weird??

MARCEL
Who brings prisoners to a stadium?

LOUIS

The two brothers are playing football with a ball they found
somewhere in the place. LOUIS manages to score a goal in his
own ark.

LOUIS

LOUIS

LATER - NIGHT
The Two Brothers are lying on the
seats of the stadium, ready to
spend the night there. They're
lying next to each other.

MARCEL

Minutes LATER:

MARCEL is sleeping on the ground. LOUIS wakes up, he stands


up. He looks around, then at MARCEL.

Then, he sees a person approaching. LOUIS notices the


person. He approaches with his gun in his hand. He sees a
person, a man, walking to The Two Brothers, slowly. LOUIS
starts to lower his gun.

LOUIS
Hello?

LOUIS
What's wrong? Are you ok?

person

He notices THE PERSON is TOUCHING his WOUNDED NECK, with his


hand covering the wound already with blood.

LOUIS
Where did that blood came from?

LOUIS
(points his gun at him)
Stay right where you are, did you
heard?

The PERSON freezes. He raises his two hands. There's a FRESH


BITE on THE PERSON'S NECK. A NEWLY-FRESH VAMPIRE BITE ON THE
PERSON'S NECK.

LOUIS

The person then starts to look at the ground. Then, he turns


into a fucking VAMPIRE, and growls to LOUIS. As the person
runs wildly to him, LOUIS points his gun at the person and
BANG! He shoots at the person, briskly waking up MARCEL.

MARCEL
God! What - What happened? Is
everything ok?

The person backs off, with a bullet shot on his forehead.


The person is still alive. He notices the blood running down
his forehead. He touches it and licks it. He then begins to
get angry.

The vampire person runs to the two brothers. He attacks


LOUIS, but he manages to stab the vampire person several
times with a stake, stabbing it on the person's heart.

The VAMPIRE falls dead.

MARCEL sees the dead body of the person.

MARCEL
What the hell happened? Who's this
guy?

LOUIS
I'll tell you later. He came from
somewhere in here. We need to go.
Right now.

Then, they hear VARIOUS VAMPIRES screaming coming from the


stadium. Various multiple screams.

LOUIS
Shit! They know we're here.
They start going downstairs. As they arrive near the tunnel,
they start running inside as behind them, a group of
VAMPIRES are approaching faster to them. The VAMPIRES YELL
and SCREAM.

LOUIS
Let's go! Run!

They manage to run out of the stadium. As a few more


VAMPIRES start to chase them.

MARCEL
Shit! Where are we hiding?

LOUIS
There's a bank! Over there! Come
on!

They enter inside:

INT. BANK. SAME.

They enter.

LOUIS
Get the seats! Push them to the
entrance! Quickly!

They lock the windows by pushing seats and furnitures into


the entrances. The group of VAMPIRES is outside, trying to
get in, but they can't.

LOUIS
Get your stake out MARCEL. Now.

MARCEL gets his stake out. LOUIS does the same. They point
at the entrance. They're ready to attack. OUTSIDE, we hear
two shotguns fired to THE SKY, but NOT AT THE VAMPIRE CREW.
The Two Brothers begin to wonder. Was there someone
following us?!

WOMAN (o.S.)

(outside)
Over here you sons of bitches! I'm right over here! Come ON!

The horde starts to step away from the entrance.

WOMAN (o.S.)

(outside)

COME ON! I'M DELICIOUS PIECE OF MEAT! I'M A RUNNING HAPPY


MEAL! A RUNNING BUFFET!

The horde is not on the entrances anymore. The two brothers


pant.

MARCEL
Who the fuck was that? Why are
they not on the entrance?

LOUIS
It's not them. It's her. She
didn't try to kill herself. I know
what she just did. She saw us. She
saved us--

Then, a VAMPIRE attacks MARCEL, from behind. MARCEL yells


and screams. LOUIS manages to attack the VAMPIRE with
various shotguns to the head. LOUIS attacks the VAMPIRE and
kills him by stabbing him on the heart with his stake. The
VAMPIRE is DEAD. Then, LOUIS is attacked by A VAMPIRE COP.
He struggles against the COP.

LOUIS
GET OFF OF ME!!!

They fall to the ground.

LOUIS
MARCEL!!! MARCEL, GO! GET THE HELL
OUT OF HERE NOW!

But LOUIS KEEPS FIGHTING. He is starting to lose strength.


But he keeps fighting. MARCEL points his gun at the VAMPIRE
COP, but realizes he's OUT OF AMMO.
MARCEL
Shit!

THE VAMPIRE COP then BITES HIM ON THE NECK. LOUIS YELLS AND
SCREAMS IN HOLLOWING PAIN.

Then, A BULLET EXPLODES ON THE VAMPIRE COP'S HEAD! THE


VAMPIRE COP notices. He turns at MARCEL.

MARCEL
Oh shit!

Then, LOUIS fights with THE VAMPIRE COP. The fight ends with
LOUIS, repeatedly stabbing THE COP with HIS STAKE. The
VAMPIRE COP falls DEAD. Collapsed on the ground.

MARCEL pants.

LOUIS pants and starts coughing blood. He realizes he has


been bitten. He looks at MARCEL, who looks worried.

LOUIS closes his eyes. His hand is slowly beginning to let


go.

MARCEL
What? What is it?

LOUIS
Hey, so -- This is how it feels to
be one of them, huh?

LOUIS smiles. But MARCEL doesn't. LOUIS stops smiling. His


face freezes. HE'S ALREADY DEAD. MARCEL begins to cry.

MARCEL
No, no, no, no. Oh God.

MARCEL puts his head down. He keeps crying. Then, he


realizes he's holding something from LOUIS's hand, he sees
it: A BULLET. A bullet he can use to do what LOUIS asked him
to do. Then, as he stops crying, he sniffs and kiss LOUIS's
forehead. He loads his own gun with the bullet LOUIS gave to
him. He then backs off as he's sitting and sits in front of
him.
LATER --
MARCEL is sleeping. His gun is
being pressed on his hand.

Then, LOUIS wakes up, but he is not LOUIS anymore. He is


someone else. A monster. He already turned. He looks around.

Then, INFECTED LOUIS sees MARCEL, sleeping. LOUIS tries to


lunge at him.

MARCEL wakes up and sees him. Scared, he quickly grabs his


stake and aims it at LOUIS.

MARCEL takes a moment. He exchanges a look with LOUIS, who


growls and yells at him.

MARCEL just looks at him, with tears in his eyes.

MARCEL
I'm sorry.

After an emotional gut-wrenching moment -- he sniffs and --

STAB!
He stabs his own brother, turned
into a vampire, with his stake on
his heart.

LOUIS dies. He is not turned into dust, he is not burst into


flames, he is not turned into ashes, he is not melted into
piles and piles of blood and green goo. He just dies.

MARCEL sniffs. Then, he begins to cry in front of his


brother's corpse.

FADE TO BLACK.

SMASH TO:

INT. WILLIAMS’ HOME - BASEMENT. LATER.

The group is sitting on the ground, some praying and some in


silence.
Chloe notices that Marcel is holding a circled necklace with
small pictures inside them.

Chloe approaches Marcel.

CHLOE
Hey.

MARCEL
Hey.

CHLOE
What are you doing?

MARCEL
Praying.

CHLOE
Praying for what?

MARCEL
I’m praying for our deaths to be
clean, fast and with no pain.

CHLOE
What does that mean?

MARCEL
We’re already in hell. I want to
send us to heaven. Where we
belong.

CHLOE
Hmm.

Marcel gives the necklace to Chloe.

MARCEL
Here.

CHLOE
Your necklace?

MARCEL
I’m giving it to you.
CHLOE
Why?

MARCEL
So when you find my mother, tell
her I didn’t make it. Tell her I
was brave, and I survived, but I
didn’t make it.

Chloe holds on tight to the necklace.

CHLOE
I will keep that promise.

Marcel smiles at her.

Then, they hear the door opening. The group gets scared.

Williams and Nicolas walk to the scene, wearing butcher


clothings.

WILLIAMS
Alright, let’s see.

He counts as he points to each member of the group.

WILLIAMS
Eenie, meenie, miney, moe, catch a
tiger by the toe, if he hollers
let him go, eenie, meenie,
miney...

He finishes his counting on IVAN, who gasps.

WILLIAMS

NICOLAS
The kid?

WILLIAMS
Take the kid.

Nicolas opens the jail cell door as he grabs Ivan by the


hair. Zoe protects him.
ZOE
You’re not touching him!

Nicolas slaps the living shit out of her. As Williams is


about to take Ivan...

MARCEL
Take me!

All eyes lock on him.

WILLIAMS
(chuckles)
Well this is interesting. You’re
planning to give your life for
this group?

MARCEL
I am. Let’s make a deal.

WILLIAMS
Ooh, deals. I love deals. Alright,
bring it on.

MARCEL
Just kill me. Only me. Let the
rest go.

Williams thinks about this for a second.

WILLIAMS
And why should I accept that?

MARCEL
Listen to me. These folks want to
see their families. They want to
see their mothers, they want to
see their fathers, so please.
Spare them. Kill me instead. Just

Williams and Nicolas think about this for a second.

WILLIAMS
Tell you what, let me make a deal
with you.

MARCEL

WILLIAMS
I kill you and then I’ll kill your
friends.

MARCEL
(beat)

WILLIAMS
Nicky, take him.

Nicolas grabs him and drags him out of the jail cell.

Williams closes the jail cell door and locks it.

Marcel screams and turns to Chloe.

MARCEL
Chloe! Give the necklace to my
mother! Find her! Please!

CHLOE
I will!

Nicolas lies Marcel on the metal slaughtering bed.

Nicolas ties Marcel to a point where Marcel tries to let go,


to be free, but he can’t. Nobody can be free or released in
hell.

Williams walks to him with a kitchen knife in hand.

WILLIAMS
Don’t worry. I’ll be quick.

MARCEL
I thought we had a deal.

WILLIAMS
We had. In fact, we have. My deal.
Not yours.

Williams prepares the kitchen knife, and with it...

ANGLE ON CHLOE.

We hear how Marcel screams like hell while Williams begins


to cut parts of him. Chloe is horrified, traumatized,
disgusted, all that at the same time. Marcel screams and
cries in pain.

Chloe screams.

CUT TO:

INT. WILLIAMS’ HOME. GUEST ROOM. HOURS LATER.

Marshall slowly wakes up.

CUT TO:

INT. WILLIAMS’ HOME - MAIN ROOM. MINUTES LATER.

Marshall, already dressed, walks around the main room.


Williams is cleaning the table and notices Marshall.

WILLIAMS
Ah, hello.

Marshall notices Williams.

MARSHALL
Hi. Uh, what is this? Where am I?

WILLIAMS
Home. My home. Your friends
brought you in days ago. My wife
healed your wound and stopped it
from getting infected.

MARSHALL
Where are they? My friends.
WILLIAMS
They, uh---
(sighs)
It’s hard to say this to you.

MARSHALL
Why? What’s wrong?

WILLIAMS
They left.

MARSHALL
(shocked)

WILLIAMS
Hours ago, while you were still in
bed.

MARSHALL

WILLIAMS
They say you were delaying them.

They say you were delaying them
because they wanted to go to Route
6 and see their families. And yet
here you are, still in bed,

Marshall grows more angry and upset at the same time.

mean, I’ve made it this far with
them. It can’t end like this.

WILLIAMS
I’m afraid you’re gonna have to

MARSHALL
No, thank you. I--I think I must
go back.

WILLIAMS
Go back? Go back where?

MARSHALL
Home. I think my journey is over.

NICOLAS
(from the other room)
Willy!

Nicolas enters, holding Aly’s backpack and showing it to


Williams.

NICOLAS
What should I do with the bitch’s
backpack?
Marshall gets stunned and shocked to see the backpack of her
dearest friend, being held by a creep he doesn’t even know.

MARSHALL
Is that...Aly’s backpack?

WILLIAMS
She probably left it here, she
probably forgot about it--

Marshall takes out his gun and points it at Williams, who


raises his hands. Nicolas takes out his gun and points it at
Marshall.

NICOLAS
Drop it now, son. DROP IT NOW!

WILLIAMS
It’s alright, Nicolas. He won’t
hurt anybody,
(to Marshall)
right?

MARSHALL
Where is she? Where are my
friends? Are they here too?

WILLIAMS
I wouldn’t recommend you to look
for them.

MARSHALL
Oh yeah? And why not?

WILLIAMS
It would be something irreparably
stupid.

MARSHALL
Where is Aly?

WILLIAMS
She’s not here. Like I said, she
forgot her backpack---
MARSHALL
Where is. Aly?

WILLIAMS
You’re wasting your time.

MARSHALL
Where. Is. Aly??

Marshall stares at him with a quiet dread.

WILLIAMS
In the basement. Here, I’ll give
you the keys.

Williams tosses him the keys to the basement. Nicolas can’t


believe this shit.

NICOLAS
Are you fucking kidding me, Willy?

WILLIAMS
What?

NICOLAS
You’re giving him the keys?

WILLIAMS
I just gave him the keys. There’s
a difference in time.

NICOLAS
I don’t give a shit--

MARSHALL
If any one of you dares to fucking
attack me while I go downstairs,
will receive a bullet on your
fucking assholes, understood?

Marshall walks faster to the basement.

CUT TO:
INT. BASEMENT. SAME.

Marshall walks downstairs. Upon realizing that he can’t see


shit, he turns on the lights, only to find the dismembered
and disembowelled corpse of MARCEL, lying on the metal
slaughtering bed.

Marshall closes his mouth and gasps horrified.

ALY
M-Marshall?

Marshall turns to Aly and their friends, still alive and


still locked in the giant cell.

MARSHALL
Oh thank God!

Marshall runs to them.

MARSHALL
Guys. I’m gonna get you out of
here.

CHLOE
(weeping horrified)
He killed him. He killed Marcel.
He ate his guts right in front of
us.

Marshall is stunned upon hearing that.

ALY
How are you going to get us out of
here?

MARSHALL
(shows the keys)
With this.

Marshall tries to open the cell door with each one of the
keys. And succeeds with the last one.

He opens the giant cell door.


MARSHALL
Now we need to get out of here---

Like a lightning, Aly hugs Marshall and holds him tightly.

ALY
I was hoping for you to come back
for us. And for me.

Marshall holds her tight.

MARSHALL
I thought you left me alone.

ALY
That’s not what a survival team
would do to their leader, right?

MARSHALL
Right.

IVAN
Hey, lovebirds.

Marshall and Aly turn to Ivan, who, with the rest of the
group, are out of the giant jail cell.

IVAN
I really hate to interrupt this
beautiful re-encounter, but we
have to get out of here.

MARSHALL
Right, we have to go now.

The group picks up their backpacks and runs to the exit.

CUT TO:

INT. WILLIAMS’ HOME - MAIN ROOM. SAME.

The group exits the basement. And they see the family of
cannibals pointing guns and rifles at them.
WILLIAMS
Get back to the basement.

MARSHALL
No.

WILLIAMS
Why not?

MARSHALL
We don’t want to. You’re sick.

WILLIAMS
(laughs, wheezing)
I’m sick? Aren’t we all sick?

Marshall points a gun at the family.

MARSHALL
Give us the car keys.

WILLIAMS
Why?

MARSHALL
Should there be a reason? Give us
your car keys, NOW!!

LINDA
God-damn it, honey, don’t give him
the car keys--!!

MARSHALL
I wasn’t talking to you, you fat
cunt.
(to Williams)
Give me the car keys.

Williams puts his rifle down and takes his car keys out. He
tosses them at MARSHALL.

Marshall grabs them.

He gives them to Kyle.


MARSHALL
Go to the car. Start it up. Wait
for me, alright?

KYLE
Got it.

Kyle and the rest of the group exits the house.

WILLIAMS
(grins)
Don’t try anything stupid.

MARSHALL
That’s the last thing you’d want
to see.

Marshall runs out of the house.

WILLIAMS
(to the family)
Get them.

CUT TO:

EXT. WILLIAMS’ HOME. SAME.

The group exits the house and runs to the car. Then, they
are grabbed by Nicolas, Lambert, Linda and Williams.

Nicolas is pointing two guns to Zoe and Ivan, Lambert is


trying to rape Chloe, Linda is punching Aly and Williams is
pointing two guns at Kyle and Marshall.

MARSHALL
Let us go!

WILLIAMS
No.

On Chloe, Lambert laughs like a maniacal psychopath as she


struggles against him.

On Zoe, she cries as she protects Ivan.


On Aly, she has the shit being beaten out of her.

WILLIAMS
First, we’re gonna kill you two
boys so you don’t watch your group
die, alright? Like that idea?

MARSHALL
Oh so you like crazy stuff? How
about this kind of craziness?

Then, Marshall BITES OFF WILLIAMS’ FINGERS OFF. Williams


screams as blood splatters wildly out of his wound. Marshall
spits Williams’ fingers off.

Williams lets go of the gun.

The other members of the family pay more attention to this


and stop doing what they were doing to the group.

Lambert stops trying to rape Chloe, and she quickly defends


herself by grabbing a rock and smashing it several times on
Lambert’s face. Not once, not twice, she completely destroys
Lambert’s face with the rock.

LINDA
(horrified)
My baby!

Then, Aly grabs a switchblade and stabs Linda in the throat


several times.

NICOLAS
My sister--!

Then, Nicolas’ STOMACH EXPLODES as we see Kyle who was


pointing Williams’ gun at him.

Nicolas’ corpse falls to the ground, hurt and wounded. Kyle


runs to Zoe and Ivan, to comfort them.

Marshall runs to Aly.

MARSHALL
Are you alright?

ALY
Yeah.

CHLOE
DIE YOU FUCKING PIIIG!

Chloe keeps smashing the rock onto Lambert’s face so


brutally and so violently. Chloe even cries while doing all
this.

MARSHALL
Chloe!

Marshall stops Chloe from doing what she was doing.

MARSHALL
Stop it! Stop it now!

Marshall comforts Chloe while she screams and cries.

On Kyle, he comforts the crying siblings.

KYLE
Wait here, I’ll be right back.

Kyle walks to Nicolas. He points a gun to Nicolas.

NICOLAS
Wait, please. Don’t kill me.

KYLE
First, I’ll kill you, so you don’t
watch your brother die, alright?

Nicolas cries. Kyle shoots him in the head.

Marshall gets Aly, Chloe, Zoe and Ivan to the car.

KYLE
He...

Marshall looks at Kyle, who points a gun to Williams.


KYLE
...is mine.

Kyle approaches Williams, who chuckles in pain.

WILLIAMS
(points at Marshall)
I guess he's daddy, huh? And you?
You're his little boy? You're his
little bitch?

KYLE
I’m his cousin you sick fuck.

Kyle then shoots at WILLIAMS'S CROTCH! Williams screams in


pain, and rests his back on the ground.

WILLIAMS
(crying in pain)
Motherfucker! What are you going
to do now?! Huh?! Kill me?! Show
me the man you are?!

KYLE
You’ve got all of that wrong. I
won’t kill you.

He points at something far next to him, although he doesn’t


look at it.

KYLE
They will.

Williams turns next to him and reacts in shock as he sees:

A HORDE OF WALKING VAMPIRES, walking to the scene, looking


for prey.

KYLE
I hope Joe can forgive you. And I
hope I can. But that's something
that'll be impossible for both of
us to do. You were right, you
know. We would have been best
friends. Him and I. I know.

Kyle gets in the stolen car, as Marshall drives away with


the group, out of the scene.

WILLIAMS
Wait! Come back! Take me with you!
I'm sorry! We can make this up! I
can be your new leader!

Too late. The car has left the scene. Williams cries.

The vampires are approaching him. Williams tries to stand up


despite the huge pain in his crotch.

But, for his misfortune, the vampires grab him first. And
they start devouring him, while he screams in pain.

CUT TO:

INT. STOLEN CAR. SAME.

Marshall drives away with the group, driving furiously and


at full speed.

The car smashes against a fence as it keeps driving away.

CUT TO:

EXT. WILLIAMS’ HOME. SAME.

We look straight down into Williams's paralyzed face. His


eyes stare up at us, with an obvious lifeless scent on him.
We quickly go up as we see the VAMPIRES feasting on his
neck.

SMASH TO BLACK.

INT. ROAD. LATER.

The stolen car drives through an empty road.


CUT TO:

INT. STOLEN CAR. SAME.

The group looks front, shocked, stunned, and clearly


traumatized.

Marshall sighs.

MARSHALL
Is everyone alright?

THE REST OF THE GROUP, EXCEPT FOR ALY

Yeah.

Marshall turns to the passenger seat, to see Aly.

MARSHALL
You, Aly?

ALY
Yeah.

She smiles at him, briefly. She is obviously trying hard to


hide her traumas.

MARSHALL
Good. It’s good you’re all good.

ZOE
Where are we going now?

MARSHALL
Route 6. I actually don’t know
where the hell we’re currently at.
Wait. Fuck, what if I’m going the
wrong way?

KYLE
We have to go to the Ridgemont
Agustina Hotel.

MARSHALL
Why?

KYLE
To see if we can find Roy’s
parents. So we can tell him the
truth.

MARSHALL
What is the truth? Truth of what?

KYLE
That their son turned into a
vampire.

Marshall begins to think.

MARSHALL
I...I don’t think that’s a good
idea.

KYLE
We can rest there.

MARSHALL
Kyle, we’re not going to any
hotels, alright? We’re not telling
anything to anyone. Besides, think
about it. The whole place must be
plagued with vampires by now. I’d
say we don’t take that risk and
don’t risk our lives.

Kyle understands.

KYLE
Alright.

MARSHALL
I’m sorry. Try to rest for a
little. All of you. I’ll find a
place to stay.

KYLE
Alright.
CUT TO:

LATER: The backseat guests (Kyle, Chloe, Ivan and Zoe) are
sleeping.

Marshall refreshes his eyes and gets back on driving.

Marshall looks at Aly, and he notices she’s a bit emotional


for something.

MARSHALL
Alright, what’s wrong?

ALY
I just...keep thinking about
earlier. If you didn't showed up,
if you didn't came to the
basement, I would have -- We would
have been --

Aly is just horrified to finish the sentence.

MARSHALL
Hey, it’s okay. You are alive, I'm
alive, we’re all alive too and
that's all what matters right now.

ALY
I'm just glad you came back for me
back there. I'm very glad that you
decided to save my ass. Our asses.
So -- Thank you.

MARSHALL
We’re a team. We’ve always been a
team. Ever since we first met, we

Marshall gasps, stunned, blushing, shocked.

Marshall acts like he didn’t hear it right. He keeps on


driving.

INT. ROAD. SAME.

The stolen car drives.

CUT TO:

EXT. ABANDONED ORPHANAGE. LATER.

We see an abandoned orphanage, not destroyed, not bombed,


just abandoned.

CUT TO:
INT. ABANDONED ORPHANAGE - ROOM. LATER.

Kyle is sleeping in a bed in a room of an abandoned


orphanage.

Then, he wakes up.

He looks around and realizes where he’s at.

He looks out the window and sees Zoe playing with Ivan. Kyle
looks at this and smiles at how innocent they look playing.

Then, he hears a sound of a vehicle approaching. He turns


and wonders about that sound.

CUT TO:

EXT. ABANDONED ORPHANAGE. SAME.

A SOLDIER HUMVEE appears and it stops next to the orphanage.

A SOLDIER, RAY, 47, walks out of the humvee, and, upon


noticing the stolen car, walks to the orphanage.

RAY
Hello?! Is there anybody in
there?!

CUT TO:

INT. ABANDONED ORPHANAGE - ENTRANCE. SECONDS LATER.

The whole group walks faster to the entrance, where they see
RAY looking around the outside of the orphanage.

The group begins to have doubts.

ZOE
Who is he?

KYLE
I don’t know.

IVAN
Guys, look at the humvee. Look at
the sign. It says “Route 6”.

There is. It shows a sign above saying “Route 6”. Maybe this
could be the best transportation plan for Route 6, or a
trap.

ALY
Should we do it?

MARSHALL
What if it’s a trap?

ALY
Let’s just ask him first.

CHLOE
Let me talk to him.

We follow Chloe as she exits the orphanage and meets RAY.

Both look at each other.

RAY
Hey there.

CHLOE
Hi.

RAY
Are you alone?

CHLOE
I’m with my friends.

RAY
Where are they?

CHLOE
Inside.

RAY
Can you bring them here?

CHLOE
First answer a question.

RAY

CHLOE
(points to the sign at
humvee)
That sign. Route 6. Is it real?

RAY
What do you mean?

You’re from Route 6?

RAY
I just came from there.

CHLOEYou transport people to Route 6?

RAY

Can you take me and my friends
there?

RAY
How many are they?

She turns to the entrance.

The rest of the group comes out of the entrance.

Yeah, we’re looking to get to

connected to the walls of the humvee.

So here’s the thing. I will take
you to Route 6, alright? I will
contact Mrs. Alice Aguilar to meet
you there. She can give you fine

Yeah.

RAY
I’ll take you to a bus terminal.
There, you’ll enter the terminal
and get inside one of the buses
that will transport you to Route
6.

RAY

my job. I’m saving people’s lives.

He keeps on driving.

The humvee arrives at the bus terminal. After it stops, Ray


exits the driver’s seat and walks to the back seat door. He
opens it.

Ray helps the group exit the humvee.

Ray walks with the group to a bus.

RAY
Paxton!

A BUS DRIVER, Paxton, 38, turns to Ray and the group.

RAY
I have another delivery for you
today.

PAXTON
Route 6?

RAY
Route fucking 6.

PAXTON
Alright, get in. The doors are
already open. There’s no one else
on the bus so you can sit wherever
you want.

THE GROUP
Alright.

The group enters the bus.

INT. ROUTE 6 BUS. SAME.

The group enters the bus and sits on various seats.

PAXTON
Just you kids?

The group nods.

PAXTON
Well, I’m glad you survived this
hell on Earth.

Paxton enters the driver’s seat, closes the door, and begins
to drive off.

Marshall looks at the window and sees Ray, saying goodbye to


the group with a soldier salute.

The bus drives off.

CUT TO:

INT. ROAD. LATER.

The bus drives to Route 6.

CUT TO:

INT. ROUTE 6 - CHECKPOINT - BUS PARKING LOT. LATER.

The bus arrives at the Route 6 parking lot.

It stops as it parks next to a bus.

The door opens and the group exits the bus.

The group enters into:

INT. ROUTE SIX - SQUARE. SAME.

The group finally enters into the crowded Route 6. They hold
on each other’s hands to not separate.

ZOE
What do we do now?

ALY
The house next to the park. Let’s
find it.

They walk together.

ALY
Mom?

Some people are gathered in massive celebrations. Some are


playing music and some are dancing. But Aly just wants to
look for her Mom and get this all over with.

ALY
Mom!

Aly then walks to a PEDESTRIAN.

ALY
Where’s the park?

PEDESTRIAN
(points somewhere)
Four blocks away!

ALY
Thanks!

Aly and the group walk to the park.

They walk far from the crowds and the celebrations.

Then, they find it, the park.

ALY
Mom!

MARSHALL
Mrs. Alice!

Then, they hear a female voice behind them.

ALICE (O.S)
Alyssa?

Aly freezes and turns to her mother, ALICE, 30 something.


Alice gasps as soon as she sees her daughter alive.

ALICE
Oh God.

ALY
Mom?

ALICE
Alyssa.

ALY
(in tears)
Mom...

She runs to her and strongly hugs her. Alice hugs her back.

Both cry. The group smiles upon seeing this encounter


between mother and daughter.

ALICE
(crying)
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Chloe then sees two FAMILIAR PEOPLE, A MAN AND A WOMAN,


walking together.

Chloe realizes something. She takes Marcel's necklace from


her pocket. She sees the small pictures on the circled
necklace. Then, she realizes: THE FAMILIAR PEOPLE ARE THE
ONES IN THE PHOTOS OF THE CIRCLED NECKLACE. IT’S MARCEL’S
MOM AND DAD.

Chloe gasps. She runs to MARCEL’S PARENTS.

CHLOE
Excuse me? Excuse me?

Marcel’s Parents notice her.

MARCEL’S MOM
Yes? How can we help you, girl?

CHLOE
I’m...I’m Chloe.
MARCEL’S MOM
Well, Chloe, how can we help you?

CHLOE
My friends and I made the trip
from the city to here.

MARCEL’S DAD
You must know our sons, right?

CHLOE
I...I only met one of them.

The two are expecting so badly to see their two sons, Marcel
and Louis.

MARCEL’S MOM
You’ve met one of them? Marcel or
Louis?

CHLOE
Only Marcel. Louis turned into a
vampire.

The smile fades from the parents’ faces.

CHLOE
I did manage to meet Marcel.

MARCEL’S MOM
You’ve met Marcel?

CHLOE
Yeah.

MARCEL’S DAD
(looks around, trying to
find him)
Is he here with you? Where’s he
at?

A long pause, a long beat. Chloe looks down. The smile again
fades away from the two parents.
CHLOE
He prayed for his death to be
fast, quick and painless, but it
was slow and full of pain.

She shows the necklace to the two teary-eyed parents.

CHLOE
He didn’t make it. He asked me to
tell you that he was brave, and he
survived, but he didn’t make it.

She gives the necklace to the two parents. They take it.

CHLOE
I’m so sorry. He was a good boy.
He saved my life. He saved my
friends' lives.

The two take it in, wordless, speechless, devastated.

MARCEL’S MOM
Thank you for telling us Chloe.

CHLOE
I'm so sorry.

MARCEL’S MOM
I know. I know. Don't worry about
it.

Chloe looks down. She walks back to the group.

CUT TO:

INT. ROUTE 6. LATER.

The place is filled with pedestrians everywhere, and they're


all celebrating.

In between the celebratory people, there's the group,


walking together.
Some band is playing some country song. With violins,
banjos, everything.

KYLE
What are they celebrating?

ZOE
Life, I suppose.

KYLE
Why?

ZOE
Maybe they're happy to be alive,
that's why they're celebrating.

The group then decides to dance in couples: Ivan dances with


Chloe, Aly dances with Marshall and Kyle dances with Zoe.

They all dance together.

It's a happy moment.

Then, they group hears screaming. Violent, demonic


screaming.

Kyle notices and sees VARIOUS WINGED BEASTS flying to the


zone and VAMPIRES running to the zone.

The group alerts themselves. So do the others. They start


running and screaming.

ON IVAN:

He's separated from Chloe and the group. He looks


everywhere, trying to find Zoe.

IVAN
Zoe! ZOE!!

Then, a pale hand grabs his elbow. He gasps and quickly


turns to see ANNA, a young woman, turned into a vampire.

ANNA
Come with me boy.
IVAN
(trying to let go of her)
No! Leave me alone!

ANNA
Don't make me do this.

IVAN
Do what?!

ANNA
I'm sorry...

Then, she punches him hard in the face. Ivan falls to the
ground, unconscious.

ON ZOE:

Zoe tries to look everywhere for Ivan. She is in despair.

ZOE
Ivan?! Ivan! IVAN!!

Then, she sees the next thing: She sees ANNA taking Ivan
with her. Zoe gasps, she runs to the scene, trying to save
her little brother.

ZOE
No! NO! LEAVE HIM ALONE!!

But the crowd is too big. One person pushes her and she
falls to her back, knocking the back of her head with the
ground.

She looks at the sky one more time before falling onto
unconsciousness.

Then, one BIG BEARDED MAN sees her and picks her up, taking
her with him.

ON ALY and CHLOE:

Aly searches for her mother while CHLOE searches for Zoe.

ALY
Mom!

CHLOE
Zoe!

Then, they are grabbed by A WOMAN.

WOMAN
Come with me if you two want to
stay alive.

CHLOE
But our friends!

ALY
My Mom! I have to find her!

WOMAN
We have no other choice. We must
get out of here now.

The Woman grabs them by the hand and run with them
somewhere.

ON KYLE and MARSHALL:

They run with the crowd. They run

TO:

INT. ROUTE 6 - HOUSE. SAME.

The two enter into the house where they lock themselves in.
Panting.

KYLE
(realizes about
something)
The girls!

MARSHALL
What?!

KYLE
What do you mean "what"?! The
FUCKING GIRLS! We have to fucking
find them!

Then, someone bangs on the door. Kyle runs to the door, but
Marshall stops him.

KYLE
Let me go!

MARSHALL
We can't risk ourselves.

KYLE
Why not?! We've already done that!

MARSHALL
When?!

KYLE
Before! When all this started--!

MARSHALL
She's gone!

KYLE
What?! What are you talking
about?!

MARSHALL
Zoe's gone!

Kyle stops, he wonders.

KYLE
What?

MARSHALL
I saw her dead body on the
streets.

Kyle is confused. Then, he begins to get teary-eyed.

MARSHALL
I'm sorry, but we can't go out.
Not until it's safe.

Kyle crumbles and sits on the ground, crying.

KYLE
That's not true...It's NOT TRUE!!

MARSHALL
It's true. I'm sorry.

Marshall comforts Kyle.

KYLE
I loved her...

MARSHALL
I know you did. I know. I'm sorry.
I'm so sorry. Everything's gonna
be alright.

CUT TO:

LATER:

The chaos from outside has stopped. Nothing can be heard.

The duo is lying on the ground, sleeping.

Then, MARSHALL wakes up first. He sees Kyle sleeping. Then,


Marshall rises from the ground and unlocks the door.

As he opens it, he realizes how surprisingly silent and calm


everything is.

CUT TO:

INT. ROUTE 6 - SQUARE. MINUTES LATER.

Marshall and Kyle walk on the burned up, empty, destroyed


and desolate Route 6.
They walk among the corpses and bodies of dead people
surrounding the streets of the safe zone.

KYLE
I can't see her.

MARSHALL
Who?

KYLE
Zoe. I can't find her body
anywhere.

MARSHALL
Why do you need her body?

KYLE
I want to bury her. Properly. In a
forest--

Then, Marshall hears some whistling. He stops and stops


Kyle.

MARSHALL
(whispering)
Listen. Do you hear that?

They hear the whistling from the distance.

Then, they hear a gun cocking. They quickly turn to see


NICK, a 27 year old fit man, pointing a RIFLE at Marshall
and Kyle. Next to Nick, there are two adolescents, named ARI
and EDGAR, both 16, obviously untrained.

NICK
Hands up.

Marshall and Kyle raise their hands.

MARSHALL
Please don't hurt us.

NICK
Who the hell are you?
MARSHALL
My name is Marshall Stakes
Anderson.
This is my cousin Kyle Stakes
Miller.

NICK
Are your last names really
"Stakes"??

MARSHALL
Yeah, well, believe it or not.

NICK
Is it just the two of you?

Both nod.

MARSHALL
Just the two of us. We lost our
friends.

NICK
Well, I'm glad somebody could make
it through all this hell. Come
with us.

MARSHALL
Where?

NICK
A safe zone. It's called "The
Lonely Wolves".

MARSHALL
The Lonely Wolves?

NICK
Yeah. You'll receive everything in
there: Housing, training, food, a
place where you can stay,
everything. What do you say?
You're coming with us?
Marshall and Kyle look at each other for a second. Then, at
Nick.
