Gateway allows you to open existing part files, create new part files, save part files, plot drawings
and screen layouts, import and export various types of files, and other general functions. It also
provides consolidated view display operations, screen layout and layer functions, WCS
manipulation, object information and analysis, and access to online help.
11. what is reference set ,how many reference sets are possible in ug?
• Filter out unwanted objects from a component. For example, you can exclude sketch
lines and datum planes from your drawing.
• Simplify the graphic display of the component part in higher level assemblies.
• Conserve memory and increase performance by reducing the amount of data that needs
to be loaded into a Unigraphics NX session.
• Convert an existing part into a Master Model.
12. what is replace and delete in join/offset command?
Replace - Replaces the first input curve with the output joined curve and deletes all other
input curves. You cannot replace the input curves if the output spline is associative.
Delete - Deletes the original curves. (You can use Undo to recover them, but the new
spline is thrown away.) You cannot delete the input curves if the output spline is
associative.
19. what is the difference between polynomial spline and general spline?
21. what is the default tolerance for angle, intersect dist, model and curve?
0.025mm
22. what is the difference between through curve and through curve mesh?
Through curve: min 2section up to 150 sections can be used to create feature.
Through curve mesh: min 2 sec up to 150 sections and min 2 guide up to 150 guide
curves can be used for creating feature.
23. what is the difference between product drawing and production drawing?
Product drawing: Rough drawing (check drawing)
Production drawing: The complete drawing which is used for manufacturing
purpose.
26. what is spike and tiny elements in UG. when they apply?
It is found in the Examine Geometry.
Tiny: Searches for all tiny bodies, faces, edges, or curves in the selected bodies or
geometry.
Spike: It is found in the sheet bodies after it is trim from the tool body.
TGT - Tag of the object - sketch curves, edge, datum plane, datum axis, ug curves
CRVT -
31. what is the difference between edit curve and edit curve parameter?
Edit curve: We can trim, divide and change the parameter of the curve
Edit curve parameter: we can only change the parameter .
,
34. how do you find out in anew part how many object are there and where?
35. while using array mating, how should be the phase(face)normal of the two parts?
MATE
Top-down modeling lets you copy and move geometry between parts, while maintaining
the necessary associative links to keep the design of the part intact.
The Assemblies-> Components->Add Existing option lets you create an assembly using a
bottom-up design method, by adding a part to the work part as a component. This part can
be an existing part, or you can create a part family member on the fly.
37. it is possible to create a drafting item only?
NO
46. what is meant by snap angle and what is the maximum snap angle?
