reading blueprints to complete the physical aspects of the job
• Interpreted blueprints and drawings to determine specifications and to calculate the
materials required
• Performed brick laying duties by measuring distance from reference points, breaking or
cutting bricks, tiles or blocks to size
• Utilized knowledge of different tools, designs and techniques
• Mixed specific amounts of sand, clay, dirt or mortar powder with water to form refractory
mixtures, applied and smooth mixture over work surface to lay bricks
• Examined brickwork or structure to determine need for repair
• As foreman, would hire, fire, train and conduct background checks on new hires
• Able to delegate, listen, coordinate and use critical thinking and judgment on each job
site
• Possess knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs
• Different tools utilized: blocks or pulleys, hammers, jacks, plaster mixers, power saws
• Forklift experience and previous warehouse experience
