Luk 18:9 At kaniyang sinalita naman ang talinghagang
ito sa nagsisiasa sa kanilang sarili, na
nangagpapanggap na sila'y matutuwid, at
pinawawalang halaga ang lahat ng mga iba:
Luk 18:10 May dalawang lalaking nagsipanhik sa
templo upang magsipanalangin; ang isa'y Fariseo, at
ang isa'y maniningil ng buwis.
Luk 18:11 Ang Fariseo ay nakatayo at nanalangin sa
kaniyang sarili ng ganito, Dios, pinasasalamatan kita,
na hindi ako gaya ng ibang mga tao, na mga
manglulupig, mga liko, mga mapangalunya, o hindi
man lamang gaya ng maniningil ng buwis na ito.

Luk 18:12 Makalawa akong nagaayuno sa isang
linggo; nagbibigay ako ng ikapu ng lahat kong
kinakamtan.
Luk 18:13 Datapuwa't ang maniningil ng buwis, na
nakatayo sa malayo, ay ayaw na itingin man lamang
ang kaniyang mga mata sa langit, kundi dinadagukan
ang kaniyang dibdib, na sinasabi, Dios, ikaw ay
mahabag sa akin, na isang makasalanan.
Luk 18:14 Sinasabi ko sa inyo, Nanaog at umuwi sa
kaniyang bahay ang taong ito na inaaaringganap kay
sa isa: sapagka't ang bawa't nagmamataas sa
kaniyang sarili ay mabababa; datapuwa't ang
nagpapakababa sa kaniyang sarili ay matataas.

The tax collectors - were thought

of a sinners and traitors to the
nation of God

A. Know Your Needs
-God's mercy is understanding the depth
of our own neediness.
B. Humble Yourself
-Mercy is God's favor of compassion and
His loving kindness and His
forgiveness granted to a person (like
tax collector) who is repentant of
transgressing His commandments

Grace - is the unearned gifts the

Father gives to His children

Grace - God's unmerited favor

A. Grace is a Gift
- Grace is God’s gift, not something we
can earn.
- Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have
been saved, through faith ”and this
not from yourselves, it is the gift of
God”

B. Grace is the unconditional love for Us
- 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though
he was rich, yet for your sakes he
became poor, so that you through his
poverty might become rich.
- His Love is more than forgiveness, but
giving eternal life and that is Heaven

But because of his great love for

us, God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ even
when we were dead in
transgressions — it is by grace
you have been saved.
