Consultation event on the alcohol measures in the Coalition

Programme for Government

Cardiff – Park Inn, Cardiff City Centre, Thursday 19 August

We would like to invite you to a workshop, to seek your views on policy proposals to
be outlined in a forthcoming consultation on the rebalancing of the Licensing Act to
empower local communities to tackle alcohol-related crime and disorder.

We will be holding morning and afternoon workshops and request that you indicate
which session you would prefer to attend. The workshop will last for approximately
two and a half hours, and include a presentation of the policy proposals followed by
roundtable discussions. Please note that places at these workshops will be limited to
fifty per session. We are anticipating a high level of demand and will be allocating
spaces on a first come first serve basis.

Officials from the Home Office and related Whitehall departments will be in
attendance to present the proposals outlined in the consultation document and
facilitate discussion.

Please accept our apologies for the lateness of these invitations and the short notice
about the workshops.

We will circulate a link to the consultation document and further details about the
consultation workshops once they have been published.

We regret that we will not be able to pay travel and subsistence for these
consultation workshops.

Your contribution to this consultation exercise will be greatly appreciated. We look

forward to seeing you there.
