DawnNews in association with The Asia Foundation is giving you an opportunity to share your
views on;
'Why is democracy necessary for Pakistan?'

If you are between the ages of 17-23, speak your mind by putting together a 5-7 minute mini
documentary. Documentaries can be in English or Urdu. The top 3 winning documentaries will
be aired on DawnNews and top ten winners will receive attractive cash prizes of up to
Rs.100,000.

JUDGING CRITERIA

The submissions will be judged on the following criteria:

Clarity of Presentation ( images and sound
should be of broadcast quality) 10

FORMAT

The documentaries must be in the following formats: .MOV, .MPEG, MP4 and .WMV. If you
decide to incorporate original sound/music it should be composed by you or it must be royalty
free. If you are unable to add original or royalty free sound/music, DawnNews will add the
music for the winning documentaries after submission.
PRIZES

The top three documentaries will be aired on DawnNews, along with their interviews of the
winners.

1st Prize: Rs. 100,000

2nd Prize: Rs. 50,000

3rd Prize: Rs. 25,000

4th -10th Prize: Rs. 10,000 each
