DESCRIPTION:
During the Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) process for the 2006 MY Tucson and Sonata
vehicles, the tie down holes must be covered to prevent water leaks into the vehicle.
A set of plugs is being supplied in the vehicle’s glove box. The plugs are to be installed
to the tie down holes during normal PDI process.
The 2006 Tucson packet contains two rear tie down plugs. The 2006 Sonata packet
contains 4 plugs, two for the front and two for the rear. The two front plugs are larger
than the rear plugs.
Replacement plugs can be ordered through your facing Parts Distribution Center
(PDC).

PROCEDURE FOR TUCSON VEHICLE:


1. Locate the tie down locations under the
vehicle.

2. Install the plugs to the rear tie down


openings.

PROCEDURE FOR SONATA VEHICLE:


1. Locate the two front tie down locations
under the vehicle.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:
Normal PDI claim entry applies using PDI Claim Entry Screen.
The installation of the tie down plugs should be performed concurrently with the “under
vehicle” damage inspection during the PDI process.
