This is the overall rating for the track as calculated from the weighted average of all the Reviewers' ratings. This
simply measures how 'good' the track is overall (not necessarily market potential). When combined with the
Passion Rating it gives an accurate prediction of the Overall Market Potential for this track. Look for a minimum
of 7.0 to indicate a high quality track.

Reviewers/Sample Group

This is the group of 80 music fans and consumers who have listened to the track online and left their track rating and written review. They
are sourced from our sister site, Slicethepie and they do not know they are conducting market research when they hear the track, which
helps to achieve honest and objective responses. The sample group is selected at random and screened by their age, gender, employment
status, location, genre preferences and habits around music buying and social networking. A diverse sample group of reviewers is required
to form a "smart crowd" which ensures an accurate Track Rating. See "Wisdom of Crowds" below.

Reviews

The reviews are written by music fans and consumers based world wide who must listen to at least 60 seconds of the track before giving a
rating and writing their review. You have the option to keep the track and artist name anonymous from the Reviewers when ordering your
report.

Review Analysis

This is generated using a technology known as Computational Forensic Linguistics. It works by automatically ‘reading’ all the reviews and
identifying which aspects of the track the reviewers are commenting on. It then establishes whether the comment is positive or negative,
collates all this information and displays the result as a graph. This analysis is particularly useful when comparing different tracks by the
same artist.

Star Ratings

The higher the star rating of a Reviewer, the better they are at judging the broader consensus rating of the track. When calculating the
overall Track Rating, each Reviewer's track rating is weighted in accordance with their number of stars. For example a track rating from a 4
-star Reviewer carries four times as much influence as a track rating from a 1-star Reviewer. Public star ratings encourage diligence
among Reviewers.

Track Positioning

This evaluates how your track compares against other tracks of the same genre and presents the results graphically. Tracks are charted
according to their overall Track Rating and the consensus of opinion.

Word Cloud

This visualisation reveals what emotions and key themes the Reviewers mentioned most often in the reviews. The larger the word, the
more it was used by the Reviewers when describing the track.

Wisdom of Crowds

Wisdom of Crowds is a proven methodology that large groups of ordinary people organised under the right conditions (a "smart crowd"),
outperform small groups of experts in making decisions and predictions. It is not new. It is the science behind Google and decision-making
in some of the largest companies in the world. It has been proven time and again that collective wisdom consistently surpasses the
experts. It also means that SoundOut can guarantee 95% accuracy in Track Ratings.

The 4 conditions required to form a "smart crowd" that delivers an accurate result are:

1) Diversity of opinion: A sample group of reviewers with many different points of view makes better decisions than one where everyone
has the same information.
2) Independence: The reviewers' opinions are not influenced by others.
3) Decentralization: Answers are given by individual reviewers based on their own local and specific knowledge rather than by a central
person.
4) Aggregation: There is a way of accurately measuring the sample group's collective answer.

Age: I like guitar strange chords in this track, I think that some sounds are very enjoyable in this track, while some of them
are just junk and makes no sense, backing vocals are not ideal for such kind of track.
16-24 6

09-Jul-2010 16:05

Age: I thought this was a really good effort. YThe guitar began with a simple and gentle rythm but one that you knew was
building something. The male vocals come in and sound really good, they suit the style and the delivery of the track
25-34 very well. 8

09-Jul-2010 16:23

Age: Nice country feel to that opening guitar play which i liked, it was played nice and laid back before it developed into a
wicked melody with a nice rhythm just as the smooth beat came in and the song got me nodding along. i loved how
25-34 it built up and the music just felt good and enjoyable and i thought it oozed appeal. The singer was superb vocally 8
and the song was just right in every sense for me

09-Jul-2010 16:45

Age: The track is a bit disjointed in my opinion, I felt that the guitar offered some good vibes but generally struggled to
find that stand out feature, singing was the highlight for me
25-34 6

09-Jul-2010 19:13

Age: A well performed folk song with some passionate and well performed vocals that do a good job of complimenting the
upbeat and catchy melody.
35-44 7

10-Jul-2010 07:10

Age: it was a strong acoustic song, the melody was very easy to remember and the vocie sounded strong and clear, it
sounded 60s a bit.

Age: Can't say that everyone will like his Bob Dylan inspired vocals, but I thought they were good enough. The song
might be considered acoustic, but the one minute acoustic guitar intro was excessive. Once he started singing all
35-44 those sweet and romantic lines, I didn't mind the wait. 7

09-Jul-2010 23:25

Age: This track seems to build well progressively over time, although it's very slow in pace and takes ages to really get
going. Pleasant singing when it eventually comes in, though I think the words could all be a bit more exciting and
25-34 catchier overall. 6

10-Jul-2010 09:36

Age: this is good

16-24 you have a very pleasant voice to listen to and are well capable of staying in tune and rythm throughout 8
song is sung in a committed manner and has a really ncie message

instrumetnal complemetns the piece well and provdes easy listening

10-Jul-2010 10:52

Age: i odont really like the song, the music is too simple and the lack of lyrics or voclas is really boring.

10-Jul-2010 12:04

Age: An upbeat rhythmiccountry styled ballad with an edgy feel.An expressive track with an emotive vocal
delivery.Entertaining & easy going.
35-44 6

10-Jul-2010 12:44

Age: Lovely sounding track. Vocals aren't crystal clear, but that doesn't matter as they blend to music wonderfully.
Continuos simple percussion, adds a nice consistency to the track, letting the vocals and music vary, whilst still tying
16-24 everything together in a fantastic parcel of a track! Unusual lyrics and style, and prolonged ending of the song 7
unfortunately lower the rating for a general audience.

10-Jul-2010 12:54

Age: a nice strong performance you have a good vocal and it was very entertaining to listen to and really excintg and
refreshing
16-24 5

10-Jul-2010 13:39

Age: this is a very cheesy and simple pop rock song. it has decent vocals andm usic but wont stand out. this is easy to
follow but lacks pasison and energy
25-34 5

10-Jul-2010 14:50

Age: The music on this song chugs along at a decent pace and gets your foot tapping along. The music is nicely played
but isn't remarkable, it is the vocals that lift this to a higher standard. The singing is full of talent and the lyrics even
25-34 feature some nice unexpected touches which keeps you entertained 8

09-Jul-2010 16:05

Age: i thought that there was some good parts to this track such as the vocals on the track i thought that they had a great
sound and lent themselves well to the laidback feel of the track, i did think that it might have been better with a few
35-44 more pace and tempo changes 6

09-Jul-2010 16:31

Age: This track has a good guitar introduction. The singer has a good clear voice and sings well. I think this song would
do fair on a radio station but it might not be that popular. I think the lyrics are soothing I enjoy the country sounds
25-34 this music evokes. All round I think this artist has moderate chance based of this particular track. 6

09-Jul-2010 17:47

Age: Nice little guitar riff at the start, with a gentle drum beat complimenting the track nicely, wait patiently for the singer
as the voice works. Lyrically the song isn’t the greatest and there are some odd lyrics. A Nice track – particularly like
25-34 the guitar tune 7

09-Jul-2010 18:58

Age: A good song, not my genre of music but it works well, i would recommend a little panning of the hi-hats and maybe
the two different guitar solos as everything sounds in the middle, giving a bit more space will open up the song a
16-24 little more. 6
The vocals are very good a slightly bit too high maybe add a touch of Low on the EQ.

Overall a relaxing song, could imagine hearing this on the radio ona sunday afternoon.

10-Jul-2010 02:08

Age: The guitar; I like it. Not the best, but it's alright. The lyrics just doesn't fit in. It sounds like the singer is moaning
instead. Who are you trying to be? A drunk? Don't mind my harshness, and the beat isn't very catchy. But you get a
16-24 second chance in every life. 3

10-Jul-2010 05:47

Age: acousticly nice, this song would be good in winter with coffee and marlboro number 27. i def. like the mountain man
feel to it.

Age: Great instrumentals. The guitar is beautiful. Loved the vocals, they were different, smooth and complimented the
melody. The lyrics are great very creative. A folk like song, sounds perfect for a camp fire. Kick back to this track.
16-24 7

10-Jul-2010 09:42

Age: I like the dark sounding tones in this and the simple guitar going on. A nice build up to the actual song makes this
sound very pleasant and relaxing. I would definitely buy this. Catchy beat and lovely voice! mAKES ME FEEL
16-24 HAPPY BUT SAD AT THE SAME TIME, SOMETHING THAT MANY SONGS STRUGGLE TO DO THESE DAYS. 10

10-Jul-2010 11:43

Age: Wonderful guitar intro , soft and gorgeous. The vocals were lush and great lyrics! I really loved listening to this song.
You guys are talented and could go far.
16-24 6

10-Jul-2010 14:24

Age: Intro a little too long, i was getting bored waiting. Quite a nice folky style track but at times the voice comes across
as a little whiney. Lyrics started out a little dull and repetitve but this changed and became better as track
35-44 progressed, but then fell back into repetition and went on too long, again becoming boring like the start. Could be a 6
pleasing summer track with some trimming and voice clarity.

10-Jul-2010 15:35

Age: I really like the tone and style of this singers voice, it sounds really interesting and unique and along with the
acoustic guitar creates a great sound. Its a very calm but upbeat song that sounds great and creates a really nice
16-24 mood, I really like it. 8

09-Jul-2010 16:03

Age: A really dull drawn out intro to make the song last way too long. Cut out the gimmicks and try and get to the point
much earlier.
35-44 5
I found this bland and dull and not really that musical.

09-Jul-2010 16:10

Age: The combination of instruments is really good, except for the chorus. The chorus is okay, but confuses me abit, I
feel like theres one instrument too much. The singer is good, but towards the end the melody starts to get a bit
16-24 boring, maybe shoud have been changed up a bit. I like the vocals towards the end though, but they could have 7
been more effective if the melody was made more interesting, so it didnt sound like repetition.
Overall, good song, wasnt bad.

09-Jul-2010 16:10

Age: This is a cute little acoustic track. It's one of those songs that gets you smiling along with it, even if you don't quite
know why. It's not the kind of thing I'd often choose to listen to, but I would definitely recommend it to people whose
16-24 music tastes veer in the direction of this kind of sound. 8
It's not a 'wow' kind of track, but it's definitely good, and listening to it makes me feel, well, peppy-much like the song
itself.
SoundOut page 13

09-Jul-2010 16:33

Age: Nice intro, relatively strong chorus. The more you listen, the more it grows on you. Laid back, relaxing track but not
wishy washy. Could be a little shorter though as the last minute is a bit repetitive.
16-24 6

09-Jul-2010 16:59

Age: A thoroughly enjoyable song. Not really my type of music, but kept me interested all the way through. The tempo is
lively and upbeat, and the lyrics were entertaining even if a bit hard to hear sometimes. Overall a good effort
16-24 7

09-Jul-2010 17:03

Age: I love the sound of the acoustic guitar, it sounds so authentic and natural. It is sometimes difficult to get your vocals
to match this sound, but they work well. Music wise, theres not alot to comment on because of its simplicity, but I
25-34 like it. Everything about the song fits like a jigsaw, my only flaw is that its a little bit too long. Showcase, too close to 6
judge.

09-Jul-2010 17:48

Age: The guitar sounds really good, I was excited till the singer started singing. The voice is a little weak. I like the lyrics,
Am just not conviced about the singer. The song and the production of it is good. I just don't like the singer.
25-34 6

09-Jul-2010 18:27

Age: The guitar and the voice are perfect. However i think you should make the other instruments more notable. They are
rather hidden behind clean gutar playing and glistening vocals.
16-24 7

09-Jul-2010 18:33

Age: An engaging track without doubt. Nice vocals, catchy guitar riff, and very good execution. I'm usually a pretty critical
scout, but I don't have much to say against this, it certainly ticks all the boxes within the genre. Perhaps the ending
25-34 drags on a little too long, but otherwise a pretty impressive offering. 9

09-Jul-2010 19:19

Age: This song has a very atmospheric quality that i enjoy very much. The vocal harmonies are superb! The guitar work
is fantastic, as is the percussion with it's less-is-more approach. Wonderful song!
16-24 8

09-Jul-2010 19:38

Age: I think this is really good. Everything works together. Its relatible and I think it has great potential. Its will be a favorite
some day. Keep it up.The one thing I would suggest would be to be creative with your vocals, it seemed like you
16-24 were singing around the same tone the whole song. 8
SoundOut page 14

09-Jul-2010 20:10

Age: I like this track. It sounds like the Kooks. Another summery track, I really like it. I like how it is acoustic, and the lyrics
are really nice too.
16-24 7

10-Jul-2010 02:08

Age: Good mix of pop and country. Very good voice. Love the guitar. Excellent use of harmony. A bit too long though.

16-24 6

10-Jul-2010 02:35

Age: The 16th-note triplets create a driving rhythm, which is almost slightly in contrast to the overall theme of the song, it
seems. I love the chord progression in this song. The vocalist has such a lovely voice. The use of harp in this song
16-24 is quite creative; one doesn't much hear the harp in popular music. 7

10-Jul-2010 02:35

Age: The song starts slow, building the anticipation. The pace picks up and pulls you in. The combination of sound from
the different instruments and the singers voice blend together to create something truley beautiful.
16-24 8

10-Jul-2010 07:27

Age: easy listening, not a lyrical mastermind and doesn't grab the bull by the horns but hey,its ok

35-44 6

10-Jul-2010 09:48

Age: This is not a very good song. It takes ages to get going and sounds a bit different. It is an amateurish song and will
not make it into the big time.
16-24 3

10-Jul-2010 10:23

Age: I liked it. It's the kind of song I'd lay on the grass and listen to. I loved the beat, it made me just wanna tap my feet.
The only improvements I can think of is that I thought the lyrics came in a lttle bit too late but the words were really
16-24 sweet. Great song. 6

10-Jul-2010 11:29

Age: Quite a catchy fresh song was impressed. Nice melodic guiar playing with some good use of harmonics the playing
reminded me slightly of Newton Faulkner however the outro to the song is purely to bulk the track out and dragged
16-24 on for well over a minute but definatly didnt leeyou under ay llusions to what the songs name is. Would love to here 9
more from them and think they could well be a group to look out for.
SoundOut page 15

10-Jul-2010 12:06

Age: This song was nice. The vocalist's voice was annoying, a bit on the whiny side (intentional??), but the guitar kept a
very nice tune and the melody was nice.
16-24 5

10-Jul-2010 12:39

Age: Not really current with the kind of sound on the market at the moment. However well recorded with a crisp sound
and decent lyrics.
25-34 5

10-Jul-2010 13:54

Age: This song is such a feel good song, it makes you smile straight from the start. I love the actual lyrics, they're not the
usual type of lyrics these days. You can imagine this being the song of summer of spring, or ever in the winter on a
16-24 chilly night. The vocals in this are perfect in my opinion, they're not too strong yet you can really feel what he's 7
singing. The only thing I was not too keen on was the tamborine around the chorus, I felt it took over the song a
little, however it did give the song a bit of a punch per say. Over all, I'd happily listen to this song again, probably
even buy it. It's not my favourite genre of music but really got me smiling and pulled into the lyrics of the song.
