“DISCOVERING”

Since the dawn of civilization man has been very curious to know about himself as well as
about his surroundings which led to so called ‘discovery’ of many things. But Castalia was
the most say, ‘incurious’ creature of the world. She knew nothing about herself so she was
never the most lovable or popular girl of the town but this is about how she discovers
herself.

She is Castalia, a 16 year old girl. I know you never heard weirder name than this before,
that’s because it’s a Greek word which means ‘a source of inspiration’. Her dad named her
because she was his inspiration, but still she’s looking for an inspiration to at least live on
this planet because she finds it very impossible to live this life anymore. It doesn’t mean
that she’s suffering from depression but like everyone else she needs an inspiration, a
reason, an aim, ambition and passion to live life which is worthwhile.

Its 6:00 am, time to get up from bed or she would say the transporter that carry her to
her beautiful land of dreams where she is at least happy and can be what she wants to.
Sun is at horizon and going to show itself from its hiding place in heaven where it is hid
behind blanket of clouds. “Castalia, if it’s not so hard to do, would you please get up from
that bed?!” shouted her mother again in that rude tone which she hated the most. “Yeah,
I’ll be downstairs within minutes”, she said.

She got up and took a bath not so refreshing, wore skinny jeans and a top. She usually
doesn’t care about what she was wearing because nobody ever looks at her so she dress
casually and reached downstairs. “Do not eat too much” said her mom. “Will you please at
least not interrupt me when I am eating, I am not fat” she said. “But you will be so” said
her mom. She pushed the plate away and walked away.

She likes to go to school walking because she wants to take full advantage of living in a
marvelous town of lakes.
 She reached the school. She moved to mathematics class which she hated the most but
her mom left no choice for her. The class was full of proudly peacocks. All were nerds but
they were so proud of themselves that they make her feel so dumb and stupid. But her
favorite class is music and English Literature.

She was walking through the corridor and some cheerleaders were making fun of her
hair because she never cared about tying or styling it nicely. Well it happens mostly. Her
one and only friend Tania, a very beautiful red hair girl with the most perfect features
approached her. “Your mom and I bought you a beautiful dress, why didn’t you wear that
instead of this not so cool dress” said Tania.

“Please Tania stop” she said. “Ok I am leaving” said Tania. It was the physical education
class time which she hated because she have to wear shorts which is another reason
cheerleaders making fun of her. “Oh, look ugly duckling is coming” cheerleaders teased
her. She saw Zeke her crush laughing at her and looking at her legs. She was very
embarrassed and disturbed so she ran away from the school. She was crying badly
because she was hurt. She went to her favorite place, beside a lake on a rusted old bench.
She hid her guitar there and started playing it. But suddenly she heard tinkling of gravel;
someone’s walking into her direction. Oh! Her friend Tania sat besides her trying to
comfort her. Before, she told herself that no one likes her or wants to be friend with her,
because of her rude personality but she was wrong because Tania was there ready to
comfort her and she accepted her as a friend. She felt good because someone hears her
heartaches and talk to her with no regrets.

After they talked she discovered that not all people hated her and don’t like her,
because there is Tania who always at her side trying her to feel good and easy. And she
realized that her parents were always there to protect her and love her always. And now
she tries to feel good and just believe to herself to make life easy and good.
