ANALYZING MISCOMMUNICATION.

a) Cricket match between Gitam College Engineering and Andhra University at

ACA-VDCA Stadium, Madhurawada.

I am captain of Gitam College of Engineering. I won the toss and elect to the
field first. During the course of fielding I sustained leg injury and came out of the field
after taking permission from umpire. In my absence, I asked Mr.Vinod, (Vice-
Captain) to lead the team. Mr.Vinod as acting captain instead of issuing oral
instruction to players for their placement, he has given hand signals for their
placement. The message was wrongly received by some players. They decode the
message in wrong way, by fielding in wrong place. As a result, we considered more
runs.

(i) Proper communication needed to success.

(ii) My Vice-Captain encodes my message correctly and transmitted it
wrongly.
(iii) Some fielders get it correctly and some are misunderstood.
(iv) I know this from their fielding positions.
(v) Body language, Vocal tuning are the barriers for this communication.
