AL SHARPTON ENDORSES RAMIREZ FOR THE ASSEMBLY

Ramirez has also been endorsed by Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Bronx
Democratic Chairman Assemblyman Carl Heastie, Public Advocate Bill deBlasio and
the largest labor unions in the city and State.

Bronx, New York.- National Civil Rights Leader Reverend Al Sharpton, today
announced the endorsement of Hector Ramirez, candidate to the New York State
Assembly District 86 for the Tuesday, September 14, Democratic Primaries. Sharpton
praised Hector Ramirez as the leader that will work and get results for the community.

"While Hector Ramirez was working to elect Democrat Carl McCall, the first
African-American candidate for Governor, his opponent, Nelson Castro, was working
to elect Republican George Pataki", said Sharpton.

Sharpton said that he is confident that, as our Assemblyman, Hector Ramirez will take
action to make sure our community has job creating economic development programs,
and our schools are improved and our streets are safer.

"I feel honored to receive the endorsement of Reverend Al Sharpton, a man that has
demonstrated a lifelong commitment to fighting for the rights and quality of life of our
communities. I will go to Albany inspired by those principles, to get results for an
underserved community", said Hector Ramirez.
