How light affects transpiration

 Light affects the size of stomata
 Affects the rate of transpiration
 In sunlight, stomata becomes wider
 Increased rate of transpiration
 In darkness, stomata becomes narrower
 Decreased rate of transpiration
Practical

Materials and equipment needed

2 bell jars
 2 potted plants(ASAPas similar as possible)
 2 polythene bags

1 piece of BIG GREY PAPER!
1 weighing scale
Practical

Preparation
 Measure the weight of the potted plants on the
weighing scale and record them down
 Place the plants in the same environment (same
temperature, light intensity and humidity)
Practical
Experimental setup

After 2 hours….
 Measure the weight of the potted plants on a
weighing scale and record them down
 Compare the results

Conclusion
 Higher light intensity, faster rate of transpiration
 Lower light intensity, slower rate of transpiration
 LIGHT DOES AFFECT HOW FAST A PLANT
TRANSPIRES!!!!
