Eportal 4 Teachers - Moodletip TIP SHEET

The following tips require that you add Moodle blocks. Blocks are items that are
added to the Moodle sidebar area. They can be moved up and down, left to right
and deleted. By adding or deleting blocks in your course you can modify the way
your course looks. The add block area usually shows up on the bottom right hand
sidebar of your Moodle course.

Moodle Progress Bar

By using the Moodle progress bar you can give your students a graphic view of
when assignments are due, what assignments they have completed and those that
are outstanding. You can add the progress bar mutiple times.

Add the Progress Bar Block

1. Turn editing on and from the block menu locate and add the progress bar.

2. This will add the progress bar block to you course. I like having this at the
top so students can imediately see what assignments or activities the
student has completed, to do or missed.

Moodle Sharing Cart

Sharing resources between different Moodle courses can be a bit difficult. I
installed the Sharing Cart block to simplify this.

1. Turn editing on and from the block menu click on add and locate sharing
cart.
2. Once the Sharing Cart is activated you will see a new icon beside your
3
activities and resources, as shown on the right. The small disk icon allows
you to save the activity or resource to the Sharing Cart block.
3. Go to another course and activate the Sharing Cart.
4. You will see the resource or activity in the sharing block
5. Click in the copy to course icon then select the location for the resources or
activity.
