    As agreed, I attach my manuscript notes of a short meeting that took place


    on Friday 18 July in the PUS's office after his regular 10,00 meeting.
    Michael Jay had asked William Ehrman, John Scarlett, John Williams and me
    to
    stay behind for a brief word about the breaking news that David Kelly had
    gone missing.

    I question the relevance of these notes (which were for my own purposes -
    not an official record) to the Hutton inquiry. But here they are for what
    they are worth . I am happy to explain them to anyone who might be
    interested, as they are probably indecipherabie to anyone other than me,
