Whereas, Dr. Melissa E. Exum served The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
with distinction for 12 years and proved to be a champion of student interests, diversity,
and “Town-Gown” relations, and

Whereas, Dr. Exum left the position of Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students
to assume the role of Vice President of Student Affairs at Purdue University effective
August 2, 2010, and

Whereas, as Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Exum has welcomed an open
relationship with Purdue Student Government and has graciously accepted an invitation
to the PSG Fall 2010 Retreat, and;

Therefore, be it resolved that Purdue Student Government congratulates Dr. Exum on her
new position and looks forward to continuing the strong relationship with the office of
the Vice President of Student Affairs

Be it therefore further resolved, that Purdue Student Government expresses sincere

appreciation for Dr. Exum’s attendance at the Purdue Student Government Retreat.
