WHAT IS PROJECT MANAGEMENT?

Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, securing and

managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project
goals and objectives. It is sometimes conflated with program management,
however technically a program is actually a higher level construct: a group of
related and somehow interdependent projects. A project is a temporary
endeavor, having a defined beginning and end (usually constrained by date, but
can be by funding or deliverables), undertaken to meet unique goals and
objectives, usually to bring about beneficial change or added value. The
temporary nature of projects stands in contrast to business as usual (or
operations), which are repetitive, permanent or semi-permanent functional work
to produce products or services.

INTRODUCTION TO THE TOPIC:

A modern day gym is a facility where you work out, meditate doing some yoga,
feel good with some aerobics exercise, and relax your senses with a day spa and
then look good by grooming at the saloon. Personal trainers get more and more
professional and gyms make sure your follow the diet prescribed by providing
the meals at your doorstep! This industry combines luxury and exclusivity to the
experience of a fitness centre with a professional approach to help individuals
develop to the best of their needs.
Not many years ago a plump Sridevi or a flabby Rishi Kapoor were
accepted as superstars by their fans. Things have changed now and today, the
baadshaahs of the industry require six-pack abs and the queens need lissome
charms to woo their fans. A well-toned body is not merely a requirement but an
obsession. The craze among the Bollywood stars is only a reflection of the
society that is getting serious about battling the bulge. Enchasing this trend
are the modern gymnasiums that are adopting a comprehensive approach to the
health and well being of its members.
Gymnasiums have thrived for long in small apartments converted into exercise
dens. However, with popular international health chains entering the country
and domestic players getting organized, this new base of theirs is becoming a
haven for the fitness freaks. As per recent estimates, the fitness and wellness
segment in India can be valued at Rs 2,500 crores. The growing segment and
increasing number of health conscious Indians is attracting global players.
STEPS THAT ARE TO BE FOLLOWED WHILE LAUNCHING

1. MARKET RESEARCH:
First step that we will follow is market research. Market research will help us to
know about the customer needs they want in gym. Moreover it will also help us
to know about customer needs which are still unfulfilled. These unfulfilled
needs can be fulfilled in our new gym.

of services provided by them, machinery they provide, membership schemes,
their competitive advantage if any and their customers.

3. DECIDING THE LOCATION:

Location is the most important factors for the success of any gym. It is directly
proportional to the customer attraction. It should not be outside the city. It
should be at such a place which can be very convenient to the customers.

4. HIRING OR PURCHASING THE BULIDING:

After selecting the location the building will be hired or purchased according to
the cost benefit.

5. DECIDING THE NAME OF THE GYM:

11. ADVERTISEMENT STRATEGIES TO BE FOLLOWED:

Advertisement is the most important factor for the success of any launch. Today
the thing that attracts the customer most is good advertisement. Customer
awareness is very important for any organization. Weak advertisement always
results in poor results. So we will focus more on the quality of our
advertisement and will try to make it very much attractive. We will follow
various advertisement strategies to attract the customer more:
i) DIRECT MARKETING

Direct marketing is a type of marketing that attempts to send its messages

directly to consumers, without the use of intervening media. This involved
commercial communication (direct mail, e-mail and telemarketing).
ii) CHANNELS

We will also use media such as door hangers, package inserts, magazines,
newspapers, radio, television, email, internet, banner ads, digital campaigns,
billboards.

iii) TELEMARKETING
In telemarketing we will contact consumers by phone. By this process many of
the consumers will be informed about the different schemes. People interested
could register on the phone to avail the special schemes.
iv) COUPONS
Coupons in newspapers and magazines cannot be considered direct marketing,
since the marketer incurs the cost of supporting a third-party medium (the
newspaper or magazine); coupons will be designed specifying different schemes
available. Coupons are the most effective way to increase the brand awareness.

v) DOOR TO DOOR LEAFLET MARKETING

Leaflet Distribution services will be used to target consumer purely by area.

vi) DIRECT MAILS

Direct mails sometimes called junk mail, used by advertisers who send paper
mail to all postal customers in an area or to all customers on a list. Probably the
most commonly used medium for direct marketing is mail, in which marketing
communications are sent to customers using the postal service. The term direct
mail is used in the direct marketing industry to refer to communication
deliveries by the Post Office, which may also be referred to as "junk mail" or
"ad mail" or "crap mail" and may involve bulk mail.

CONCLUSION:
In India people are becoming very health conscious. Many people are joining
Gym these days. In future Gyms are going to be very popular even in rural
