This is my wife's grandmother's recipe for bread/scones/rolls. I put it together for her with her hand-written recipe card and typed translation. Enjoy!

Good for scones & Navajo Tacos Dissolve 2 Tbs. yeast in 4 cups warm water. Add 1/4 cup sugar or 3 heaping Tbs. sugar + 3/4 cup dry milk. Add 4 cups white flour & beat into batter or sponge. Let rise about 20 minutes. Then add 1 Tbs. salt, 1/2 cup oil and about 5 cups more flour - or enough to make a soft dough - still a little sticky to handle. Oil top of dough - cover and let rise 45 minutes. Punch down and let rise a couple of times. Fry as scones or bake as bread or rolls.
