Solicitation effolts will encompass all sports-related markets, amateur lthlctIC events, state, nationa], international, collegiate and professional events, sports association conferences and tr.1JC shows,
The depaJ1l11ent focus will continue to be on large events rh.u require significanr room night commitments (citywide conventions) and major venue space in future years. Additionally this department will continue its focus on the short-term business (inside 24 months) with intermediate and :al1;lU meetings. \Ve also will continue to monitor the economic climate and adjust our marker focus in each of these target markers JS needed. For example, there may be less of a focus on religious meetings that are tmditionaliy rare sensitive ;U1d more of a focus on more lucrative markets if the ADR in Houston continues to improve.
