17 export sectors to get 3-20pc subsidy

The gov ernm ent w ill giv e 1 7 export sectors 3 -20 percent subsidy in the cu rrent fiscal y ear.
Bangladesh Bank y esterday issued a guideline to all banks asking th em to pay the su bsidy against the exports for the period from July 1 ,

201 0 to June 3 0, 201 1 .

The export oriented apparel industry w ill get 5 percent alternativ e cash assistance, and som e h and m ade goods w ill enjoy 1 5 percent to 2 0
percent subsidy .
Potato, ligh t engineering products, frozen shrim p and oth er fishes, PET bottle flacks and jute goods w ill be entitled to 1 0 percent export
subsidy .
Bicy cle, bone powder, hatch ing eggs and day -old ch icks in the pou ltry industry , and leather goods w ill receiv e 1 5 percent assistance.

Agricultural products (v egetables and fru its) and agro- processing goods, liquid glucose and halal m eat w ill enjoy 2 0 percent su bsidy .
Fiv e per cent su bsidy w ill be giv en against expor t of ship, 4 percent against export of finished leath er, and three percent against cru st
leath er export.
