Community Impact Statements

Directions for the Community Impact Statements:

1. Anybody who is impacted by the individual(s) can complete the Community

Impact Statement, and the statement can be filled out for past or present
cases.

2. The narrative should include information in your own words about how this
individual’s illegal behavior has impacted you. For example: your property
values as a homeowner and how safe or unsafe you feel on your own block;
or as a property owner your ability to rent your building; or how a chronic
loiterer impacts your customers as a business owner. One means of
completing an impact statement is to type the statement and then submit it
through e-mail to the Franklin Ave Community Safety Center.

3. The E-mail address is listed on the impact statement template. The statement
can also be faxed if e-mailing is not possible. The fax number is (612) 673-
3563. Please mark your fax Attn.: CPS Shun Tillman.

4. The impact statement will then be routed to the City or County Attorney's
office.

COMMUNITY IMPACT STATEMENT

Impact statements are used by Police Officers, Probation Officers, City and County Attorneys and the
Courts to show the negative “impact” an individual has on a community. This is the community’s
opportunity to speak out on individuals whose activities affect their sense of safety and well-being in
their neighborhood.
