Types of Genre:

Horror: A horror is an unsettling

movie that attempts to bring out
the emotions of fear, disgust and
horror from viewers. Horrors
usually feature frequent jump
scenes that make the viewers
jump and startled through the
means of paranormal. Horrors
also tend to overlap with science
fiction and thriller genres.

Comedy: A comedy
emphasis’ humor. Comedy does also typically
have a happy ending. Comedy is one of the one
of the oldest genres in film, some of the very
first silent movies were comedies. Unlike other
genres, comedy puts more focus on individual
stars.

Thriller:A Thriller genre uses

suspense, tension and excitement
as the main elements. The primary
subgenres of thrillers are: mystery,
crime and psychological thrillers.
Science fiction:Science fiction
uses slightly science-based
representation of facts that are
not necessarily accepted by
mainstream science, such as
extraterrestrial life forms, alien
worlds, and time travel,
sometimes with elements such
as spacecraft, robots, or other
technologies.

Action:Action films usually

include high energy, big-
budget physical stunts and
chases, possibly with rescues,
battles, fights, escapes, and
destructive crise. Action
stories often have ‘good-guy’
(heroes) battling ‘bad-guys’.

Adventure:Adventure films are

usually exciting stories, with
new experiences or exotic
locations, very similar to or
often paired with the action
genre. They can include
traditional facts, historical
sights, searches or expeditions
and many more.
Drama:Dramas are plot-driven productions, portraying
realistic characters, settings, life situations, and stories
involving strong character development and interaction.
Usually, they are not focused on special-effects, comedy,
or action. Dramatic genres are probably the largest film
genre.

Romance:Most films have some aspect of

romance between characters, whereas a
romance can be loosely defined a genre in
which the central plot revolves around the
romantic involvement of the story’s
characters.
