Christo Wrap
PROBLEM: Wrap an object the size of a softball or larger in fabric, string, paper, or tape. Leave a small portion
of the object revealed to keep the viewer guessing as to what it is.

Create a drawing/painting of this wrapped object using any media you wish – charcoal, conte pencils, chalk,
graphite, oil pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil paint. Keep it black and white OR use color.

Use strong light to show the ripples and folds of the wrapping. Make sure to set up your light in the same spot
EVERYDAY.

 The illusion of three dimensions through value.

You can divide 18x24 paper, canvas, etc. (whatever you choose to use) in half, either horizontally or vertically.
In these 9x12 rectangles, you will be creating 2 drawings of the same object from different viewpoints.

Consider the following:


 One drawing zoomed out (whole object),
the other zoomed in (partial object)
 Front of the object, back of the object OR
 Two zoomed in viewpoints.
