REQUIREMENTS FOR ORGANIZATIONAL INTRANET & CRM

Technical Requirements

The technical part will require the following

o A Server to Deploy the Intranet Application

o Features of the Server
o The server should be a high specs system depending on the staff size of the company
in other to manage the load on database requests and other things with repect to
the internet application (This is determined by the pocket of the company)
o Well networked systems
o Networking infrastructure (Guess You can resolve this part since its hardware)

Other Requirement

Business need
There are different models that the intranet could have but it is highly dependent on the needs of
the organization. The first thing the organization needs to do is to know which of these models best
fits the intranet needs of the organization. The models include;

 A dashboard for the corporation—Is the core of your intranet designed to bring together
reporting numbers from various Web-based systems into one dashboard where
management can see how the company is doing at a glance?
 Dashboard for internal applications—Is your intranet site simply navigation for getting to all
of the internal Web applications that have proliferated over the past several years?
 File repository— is it a file repository that is designed to replace or supplement your existing
file servers? File-based intranets allow for more categorization of files and more regimented
tagging of files, but the increased organization may be resisted by users.
 Collaboration— If you have teams of people who need to share calendars, to-do lists, or
project plans, you'll have a site that focuses on the collaborative opportunities of an
intranet. This type of foundation most highly values the ability for groups to maintain their
own rapidly changing information.
 Corkboard— Some organizations use the intranet as a virtual corkboard. It's a place where
the human resources department can place notices about changes to health benefits, for
example. Some extend this concept further, allowing anyone who has something to say to
post a note on the intranet.
Of course, your intranet may be a combination of the above. The key is to understand what you
want your intranet site to do and what you know it shouldn't do. It is also important to note that the
complexity of the model affects the price.
CRM / Sales Tool

The technical requirements for this is same as above because they will be deployed on the same
server to minimize cost so it means the server has to be fast and rugged enough to meet all this
application load.

Features

o Manage information about client Companies;

o Keep information about Contacts within a Company;
o Track relationships between Contacts and/or Companies
o Initiate and manage Cases, Opportunities and Activities related to Companies and Contacts;
o Generate activity reports for tracking pipeline statistics

If the organization wants a low budget CRM, then we can work somthing out thats if we know the
budget of the company.

Financials

Servers & Networking – TBD

Intranet – #250 000 (Minimum cost)

CRM/Sales Tool - #400 000 (Minimum cost)

PS: This cost is quite low for standard costs of these application but if its a small sized company, we
can work something out based on the company’s budget but they will know that the applications
cannot be extremely robust in features except they are willing to pay for it.

I hope this helps.
