Exfoliation

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells. There are two classifications of
exfoliants:

Mechanical Chemical
-For normal, dry, oily, and combo -Not for sensitive or thin skin

 Physically manipulating, using  Chemical ingredient that breaks

 Enzyme Peels – derived from
Contraindacations: fruits and vegetables, these

Three Levels of Chemical Peels:


Superficial Peels

Reaction: Pink, Peeling
Medium Depth Peels
Trichliracetic Acid
Chemicals used:
Reaction: Removes Epidermis
Deep Peels
Phenol
Chemicals used:
Reaction: Removes Tissue, Highly Acidic, Goes to Papillary Region
