International Programs for Scholars Welcomes New Participants for International Week
Champaign, IL— November 10, 2010 – International Programs and Studies has completed its
schedule for the annual International Education Week and is looking forward to this years events
and activities. International Education Week was created to “connect students to a world of
opportunities” and each year cultural houses, organizations, and registered student organizations
hold events to inspire students and open their eyes to the world around them.
Mark Veederzelm, Director of International Programs for Scholars, was pleased to announce that
the final schedule has been set and that the students, faculty staff and community members can
expect great things from this years lineup.
What makes this years line up different from the rest is the first ever guests to come and
participate from abroad. Participants from Costa Rica will be coming to hold salsa dance
workshops and visiting culinary chefs from Casa Ombuto Cooking School in Tuscany Italy will
be holding cooking demonstrations. In addition, the Philippine Student Association has an after
hours dance show planned the last night.
