I saw that (b) didn't cc: you on this request for info. It is pretty much SBInet's tasker. She is
completely(6)
confused on what a public scoping meeting is. We will of course help out in any way we
can. (b) and (b) already have the talking points on scoping meetings. Just FYI.

Subject: Scoping Meetings - Follow-up Questions

Good Morning Gentlemen,

Thanks again for coming over on short notice last Friday. It was extremely helpful. I relayed the
updates to my Deputy Assistant Secretary (b) (6) and he wanted me to get some details on the
scoping meetings. Our Dep Sec is keenly interested in these, so we're hoping we can give her some
details that will assure her Interior folks and external stakeholders have an opportunity to engage in the
process.

I've posed some questions that should capture what we need. We have a meeting with the Dep Sec
and all of our Assistant Secretaries this morning at 10 am, so anything you can send me prior to that
would be great.

Per our conversation on Friday, you've held three scoping meetings - Tucson, El Paso, and Yuma.

(1) What dates were these held?

(2) Who was invited? And by what means are folks invited - specific invite or do you just announce in
the paper and hope folks show?
(3) Were our land managers invited? If so, do you have a list of who attended?
(4) Do you have a short overview that you provide attendees on the purpose, objectives, etc of the
scoping meeting? If you do, can you send me a copy?
(5) Do you actually show attendees maps of the potential locations for fence, infrastructure,
technology? Or do you just describe locations?
(6) You mentioned Matt Clark (Defenders of Wildlife) attended the Tucson meeting, were there other
environmental groups represented? At what meetings?
(7) Do you plan to hold additional scoping meetings for the rest of the SWB? If so, can you send me
the dates and method of invitation? We're particularly interested in South Texas.

Anything else you have that would be helpful, please let me know. Thanks so much for your continued
assistance.

Rowdy, any word on the Statement of Work?

Thx (
b
