THINKTANK: Urban Water Systems Proposal

WHAT

Raising awareness about a growing scarcity in one of our most invaluable resources on
the planet.

HOW

Erecting a monument to make a permanent statement in regards to this issue as well


as a multi-faceted awareness campaign that will target both physical and virtual communi-
ties in and around the GTA to help spread knowledge about water consumption and
generate financial support for the initiative.

GOALS

1. Find a suitable location for the monument. (Nathan Phillips, Waterfront, etc.)
Gather relevant information pertaining to the most appropriate site for this monument; thus consider-
ing the surrounding community, the geographical characteristics, and accessibility to the monument.

2. Monument design proposal. (Interactive and/or Informative, HIGH IMPACT)


An abstract representation of the intention and spirit of the project in sculptural form. It will embody
the nature of our mission and provide potential routes for a highly-regarded designer to pursue and carry-out the final
design of the monument. ( Part of the campaign is offering a well-known designer to step forth and donate his/her
time to produce the design for the monument) For those in E.D. it is very similar to the conceptual sculpture we placed
on our site plans for the Habitat project.

3. Poster/pamphlet for street campaign. (Illustrate the issue, inform, convert)

4. Website for web campaign. (Gain following via Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
