THE PIANIST

The film tells us the difficult life of Władysław Szpilman, a famous Jewish pianist

who lived in Warsaw and bore the Nazi invasion to Poland.

He worked at the radio station of his city and led a quiet life with his parents and

siblings but with the start of World War II, the Nazi Guard forced them to move into

the gloomy district named Warsaw Ghetto. At this place the Jews had to work very

hard and the living conditions were terrible.

Long time after, the Nazis killed the rest the Jews in the extermination camps but

Szpilman was saved by a Jewish police who was a family friend. He had to survive

so he worked in the reconstruction of German units, but he wanted to leave it as

soon as possible then he asked friends for help. After all he got away but he had

to live hidden because his life was in danger. He lived like that during one year

and faced loneliness, sadness, hunger, illness; it´s hard time for any people. At the

last hidden place, a German official helped him so Szpilman got to survive until war

ending.

Fortunately this great musician went back at the station radio and he became a

famous pianist in the world.
