BALL HANDLING FOR BASKETBALL

SLAP THE BALL DRILL


WHILE HOLDING THE BALL IN FRONT OF YOUR CHEST WITH YOUR ARMS BENT
SEE HOW MANY TIMES YOU CAN THROW THE BALL FROM HAND TO HAND USING
FINGERTIPS WITHOUT DROPPING THE BALL IN THE ALOTTED TIME.

FINGERTIP DRILL
USING THE SAME TECHNIQUE AS ABOVE RAISE YOUR ARMS ABOVE YOUR HEAD
AND ATTEMPT THE SAME FEAT.

BUTTERFLY DRILL
STAND WITH FEET WIDE APART (SUMO) ONE HAND IN FRONT AND ONE IN BACK.
TRY TO SWITCH HANDS FRONT TO BACK WITHOUT DROPPING THE BALL. THEN
TRY 2 TIMES IN A ROW. TRY TO WORK UP TO 5 TIMES THEN 10.

CIRCLING
PASS THE BALL IN A CIRCLE AROUND YOUR BODY WITHOUT DROPPING OR
STOPPING THE MOTION. DO THIS 5, 10, 15 TIMES.

FIGURE 8 DRILL
STAND WITH FEET WIDE APART (SUMO). CROUTCH SLIGHTLY FORWARD. PASS
THE BALL THROUGH ONE LEG AND THEN AROUND THE OTHER MAKING A FIGURE
8 AROUND LEGS. TRY TO DO THIS 5 TIMES WITHOUT STOPPING.

MONKEY WALK-RELAY
WALKING FORWARD DO THE FIGURE 8 DRILL FROM THE BASE LINE TO THE
FREE-THROW LINE. NEXT DO THIS IN A SHUTTLE LINE FOR A RELAY. WHEN ONE
PLAYER HANDS OFF THEY DO 20 JUMPING JACKS UNTIL IT GETS BACK TO THE
BEGINNING, ONCE THEY HAVE DONE THEIR JUMPING JACKS THAT TEAM WINS.

ROLLER BALL
ROLL BALL DOWN BACK AND CATCH IT AT WAIST THEN THROW THROUGH LEGS
BOUNCING IT ON THE FLOOR BETWEEN LEGS TO YOUR PARTNER.

QUICK HANDS DRIBBLE


FEET APART IN SUMO STANCE. TRY DRIBBLING THE BALL WITH BOTH HANDS
BARELY/QUICKLY TOUCHING THE BALL FROM BOTH IN FRONT OF YOUR BODY
AND BEHIND YOUR LEGS.
