Exercise 2: Expressive Lighting

Part I
The Mona Lisa Mona Lisa (1503-1506),
Leonardo daVinci’s world-famous portrait,
was theartist’s favorite painting; in fact, it
wenteverywhere with him. Although
there have been many theories about the origin of the
inexplicable smileon the woman’s face. It was
probablyjust the result of Leonardo’s interest in
natural chiaroscuro (the effect of lightand shadow on
the subject).

This is a painting that uses chiaroscuro as a technique , it

makes seem the Mona Lisa that is light it from the front
And it seems that there is a diagonal light in the right side.

Exercise 2: Expressive Lighting

Part II

In this picture I use myself to explain this technique, I use a plain background in a room
with just two lights one that comes to the front and the other go in the left side of the subject.
And that makes a chiaroscuro feeling.
