available to you. Over the years, the net has produced many great tools that can help us market
our websites providing us with great data to make decision in how to move forward. This is an
eCommerce Software Guide that will list some programs and websites to help you build your
eCommerce business.
Microsoft Adcenter – The Microsoft Adcenter platform is also one of the largest PPC network
which now places your ads in the Bing search engine as well as the Yahoo search engine.
Google Keyword Tool – Another great FREE tool by Google that provides an estimate of
keyword and related keyword searches on a global and local monthly level.
COMPARISON SHOPPING MARKETING:
BizRate – A reliable great comparison search engine comparison site where millions of
consumers search and buy products. Directs users directly to your ecommerce page. Works on a
PPC model.
Nextag – Another great comparison shopping engine which works the same as BizRate and can
bring significant traffic and boost sales.
Shopping.com – A comparison shopping engine that commands a lot of traffic and powers
Yahoo shopping. The downside of Shopping.com is it has very poor customer service.
AUCTION/SALES CHANNELS:
Amazon – You can list products and is currently one of the largest websites in the world where
millions of consumers shop monthly.
eBay – An auction (or buy it now) website to list and sell your products. Very poor in terms of
customer service and very competitive but is sure to compliment your sales if you can compete
in that marketplace. eBay is very feedback driven.

FaceBook – You can and should create a Facebook fan page for your business and should link to
your Facebook fan page from your website. Also, you should have the Facebook ‘like’ button on
all your product pages as it helps promote products.
Twitter – Connects you with your customers and possible consumers worldwide. A great channel
to announce coupons and specials. Very powerful if you know how to use it to your advantage
and market your brand/products.
BLOGGING:
WordPress – The largest and most robust blogging platform on the net. There are thousands of
free themes or you can customize your own theme to go with your website. Blogging is an
essential part of online marketing and ecommerce.
Blogger – Googles version of wordpress and also a very good blogging platform (but would stick
to wordpress.)
Drupal – Another great blogging platform which is gaining market share and popularity with its
easy to use functionalities.
Ice Rocket – A great blog search engine which also gives you analytical information on buzz
keywords, topics and much more.
VIDEO:
YouTube – The largest video hub in the world which drives billions of views on a monthly basis
which you can upload you product videos and get exposure.
Vimeo – A great video hub which provides great quality output to your videos online which
allows you to embed them as well to your website.
MetaCafe – Another video hub where you can upload your videos and get exposure and views to
product and company videos.
AFFILIATE MARKETING:
Commission Junction – The largest affiliate marketing company which serves many (if not the
biggest) ecommerce companies in the world. While pricey, it is the most robust and largest
network of affiliate marketers.
RETARGETING MARKETING:
Criteo – Platform that allows you to personalize ads and bring consumers back to your website.
Fetchback – Another platform that allows to you target users that have visited your website and
serve ads to them while browsing the net.
