Martin Luther King Jr.

In the second half of the 20th Century took a black Baptist minister and Nobel Peace Prize, as a
fighter of nonviolent re-stand against racial discrimination in the United States, a struggle for
human rights of the black minority.
This deployment made him the symbol of peace and hope for a better world ...
I´m talking about Martin Luther King Jr..
So now I´m want to say sth. about his life. He was born on the 15. January 1929 in Atlanta.
On 18th Coretta Scott King married in June 1953 and the couple have four children.

On Januar1954 he war arrested for a trifle. He was 8 km / h. too fast. This was the expression of
retribution against the colored population. On 30 January, a bomb attack against King's was
prepetrated. In January 1957 he founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. King
appointed a month later its president, and traveled with many demonstrations over 1 million miles
and held over 200 speeches.
A year later, King published his first book "Stride Toward Freedom." In 1962 he met President John
F. Kennedy, to gain support for civil rights.
On 28 August 250 000 civil rights activists take on the famous "March on Washington" part. At the
Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King held his famous speech"I Have a Dream"
On 10 December 1964 King receives the Nobel Peace Prize.

On 18 January 1965, Martin Luther King can successfully register for election and is therefore
attacked by James George Robinson. In February, Martin Luther King continued to protest against
racial discrimination at the time of counting the voters and is arrested and went to jail. On 9
February, he meets with President Lyndon B. Johnson and other American leaders to discuss voting
rights for African Americans.
On 4 April 1968 King was murdered in a motel in Memphis by James Earl Ray.
