 In 1492, explorer Christopher Columbus, reached the


shores of Caribbean islands.

 In 1507, German cartographer Martin Waldsee müller


produced a world map on which he named the lands of the
Western Hemisphere "America" after Italian explorer and
cartographer Amerigo Vespucci

name in the Declaration of Independence, which was the
